Such an art watching you fly fishing in that creek, beautiful 🤩, so traditional 😊, lovely trout, loved it Robbie ❤😊
Thank you so much Kirsty. It is an art that's for sure. It is a lot of fun and very healthy exercise too. 🙏
@@robbiefishing it’s not the easiest way and there’s a certain art to it I believe, great exercise, always wished I’d taken the time and patience to learn and tie my own flies before this darned stroke robbed me of my mobility, never put off til tomorrow what you can do today please folks 🙏🏻 one day it’ll be too late; so lovely watching you keep up the sport so well, Robbie💪🏻👍🏻👌🏼🤩🙏🏻🫶⭐️😊😘
Oh i so used to love fly fishing. What a great time Robbie.
Thank you. Fly fishing is so much fun. At the same time it can be super frustrating. LOL 😂
Very entertaining Robbie🍺👍🏽what a great little creek that is,don’t ya hate it when you snag a tree😂🎣Al
Thanks Allan. Haha Those trees drive me mad when I am fly fishing. LOL I am grateful for the shade they put on the water though.
Great format mate, you did well stringing it all together for the video. Nice catches as well!
Thanks so much buddy. I'm just playing catch-up and then I'm going to check out your latest video. I've already seen half. Haha
Gotta love a long video keeps me entertained thanks robbie great vid 😀
Thanks so much Jack. This would be a good Yabby dam if it wasn't for all the leeches. LOL
Well done Robbie ,it’s a great way to wrap up a lazy Sunday avo with 52 min of great entertainment 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Felt like we were out on a day trip together. Loved the longer bud mate. Thanks for the adventure 👍👍👍
Hey Mat, thanks so much mate.
Were you in Wang last week? If so, Holly spotted you. Haha 🤣
Well done Robbie. Trout and yabbies cooked in butter surely taste good together. We cook trout and crawfish together like that here in America
That's what I'm talking about! Nice long vid. That was bloody awesome mate! The missus and I enjoyed it! 😁🎣👌
Hi Robbie.
Really enjoyed this vid.
Would love to see a trout catch and cook. Dont think i have seen one yet
Thanks so much Hamit. I have filmed 1 or 2 in the past but I really should do another one. Thanks for the suggestion mate.
Wow, a Robbieathon! That's how I like to spend a full day too, plenty of variety. I have learned several things from this 1. Don't stress the trout in summer. 2. You love tiger leeches. 3. Cheap rounds 😁
@@robbiefishing I remember from my bushwalking days, the tiger leeches down the Otway Ranges are one centimetre thick and about eight centimetres long before they start sucking. Also, their colours are a vibrant yellow and black. Definitely best to avoid.
Hiya rob , Wahoooo a full length video... this one I'm going to save until this afternoon and watch on the big screen with some munch and the boys ....
Mate I'll thank you in advance and a big hello to all the family , hope your all well
😎🏴
Thanks so much Michael. I hope you all have a wonderful day. We've just gotten home from fishing at Lake Buffalo.
Those streams looked magical. Surprised you did not hook up on the overhead trees more than you did, I know I would have caught all the trees as never done fly fishing
Thanks mate. Haha I catch my fair share of trees too don't you worry. LOL
Hi Robbie. Great fishing. I read recently that trout can either hear or feel when something lands on the water near them. Warm regards Gary.
Awesome mate, what an adventure, thanks so much for sharing, love the long play format. Very relaxing to watch with a cold one, more to follow please :)
Bacon Sanger looked lovely !
PS.
Isnt it nice to be 7 hours out of Mobile range sometimes for some total peace and relaxation? Just like the old days....
Thanks again mate for sharing.
Thanks Robert, it sure is great to be out of phone service. The only downside is the barrage of notifications when I come back into service. LOL
Bacon is good, but one of those trout would've been better for tea, for me anyway. There's "field to fork" but this would have been "stream to stomach". Keep up the great work. There's a lot of fishing TH-cam channels, your enthusiasm and humour make yours stand out and good fun to watch. Cheers.
More than any other species trout have mastered the art of tossing hooks as fast as they take them. Those aerial acrobatics will raise your adrenaline and dash your hopes with equal frequency. It's one of life's great pleasures.
Thanks mate, I agree. That's one of the reasons I won't use braided line for trout fishing. I like having line with a bit of stretch in it when the fish jump and shake their heads.
@@robbiefishing in saltwater marlin are similar. They will surface dance and toss the hook right out. Surface action, both striking and fighting, is one of many things that keep us fishing. A simple blessing many overlook.
I love these longer videos
@@robbiefishing would love to see in the longer videos some Murray cod fishing and yellowbelly fishing in new spots
Great video Robbie
I had to watch in three sessions people shouldn’t interrupt anyone while there watching Robbiefishing videos on TH-cam
Hahaha thanks so much for watching it all Peter. It's fully understandable to break it down, it was a long video. LOL
You put the fun in fishing that's for sure I do the same with my daughter
Whoa, great treeing and fishing. Did well to catch more fish than trees. But that tree was bigger than the brown
With all that walking I reckon you earnt that bacon mate.
And those leeches give me the creeps too..hahaha
great long viedeo love the blackfishing best creator n youtube i caught 6 redfin 3 roach and 1 yellowbely and 1 massive cod
Hey robbie if you are ever up near the Riverina area again come check out lake albert in wagga there are meter and a half cod and some pretty monster carp if you're lucky. its always a blast fishing there. excited to watch this hour long video.
@@robbiefishing I would totally come by and fish absolutely maybe someday.
always enjoy your video on fishing and gabby hunting , I also like seeing the areas you fish , sadly I feel many areas you go reveal the lack of fire prevention in Victoria and it concerns that ther is another firestorm coming ,😕
Thanks mate. Without doing there will be some bad fires ahead. 2 cool damp summers Inna row, there's a lot of regrowth.
Yay blackfish. Such a underrated fish in terms of angling and eating quality
@@robbiefishing in saying that i actually haven’t caught them before, but from what I’ve heard they seem to have their branches in the angling community particularly in Tasmania they grow to like 60-70 cm and like 4lb. Same with alot of other fish like catfish I’ve caught plenty of eel tailed catfish in a pond not far from where my grandparents live in SA , and there are some big buggers in there like 60cm and 5 pounds , and I’ll tell you even the small ones put up a hectic fight but when you hook into a big one especially on the 2-4kg rods with 6-8lb braid it’s so much fun they fight so hard but get a bad rep for being a trash fish which is not true.
Excellent Vid Robbie, Question, How do you stop the soft plastic from melting/expiring in yu tackle box?
Thanks mate. The best way to look after soft plastics is to keep them in their packets and keep them away from other brands of plastics. Some brands will melt in the heat, some will melt other brands of plastics.
The only brand that I know of that melts is the Z-man. If you store them on their own and don't let them get too hot they should be fine.
Robski .... i was going to say it's been a while since fly fishing material been uploaded, although I didn't want to damper the mood with the hook in the finger and blah blah on your last video !!
Good to see the trout material !!
Haha thanks mate. I did upload an uncut fly fishing video a few weeks back.
It was great to be back out with the fly rod.
Robbie's big day out!
Keep Smashing them mate…Beautiful Fish..Pauly at Wilderness Coast on Fly in Marlo..Victoria 🤓👍
I love strike tiger soft plastics, great quality and a killer lure. Strike Tiger should do a Robbie Alexander line of lures... they would sell like hotcakes... and Robbie you can hopefully clip the ticket and earn some commission!
Haha thanks mate. They certainly are excellent plastics. The "robbiefishing" signature series. LOL
This is what I have been waiting for a long vid full of fishing and most of all yabbing. Thanks so much and can you go back a yabbies the river that you stocked with 300 or 400 yabbies if you can it would be nice to wach. Thanks soo much for the good vids
Thanks so much Liam. I am hoping to go back there next season. I want those eggs to hatch and grow.
As a bald calm fella i feel your videos sooth me!. I would like to say, I done a Colonel Mustard in me undies. Please keep it up my friend. See you in Wang soon!
Had to have a good laugh about you and the Leech funny as anything haha. Should put some Salt on them haha. This video was just the greatest of the greatest you done keep up with the long videos. Keep up with the effort as well with no beer you can do it I done it last year now I'm doing it again this year
Thanks so much for your kind words mate. It's actually been easier than I thought. Zero beer helps cure the cravings.
Hmm Tiger Leeches as bait? Ha ha great video man
Thanks mate. I reckon they would work if you're game enough to get get them on the hook. LOL disgusting things. Haha
@@robbiefishing I'd give it a go! None of them here down south & all our waterways are "owned by Government" so we can't enjoy them as a natural resource. I say send it & see what happens ha ha!
Hi Robbie really enjoy watching your videos, thanks for your info on trout fishing.
Greg Cook
Wonthaggi
Great video Robbie sadly can’t fish in my kayak because all the lakes near me have blue green algae warnings
Thanks mate. I think you can fish in it you just need to be careful not to make contact with it.
Good one mate got through it all eventually hahahah enjoyed the video 👍👍👍👍👍
38:51 fat reduced bacon? Yeah nah Robbie, ya effin can't lol Onya Bro 👍😃
I went fishing today , caught lots of fish and heaps of hugeeeee yabbies
Awesome brother! Good luck with your 0 alcohol abstainance! I hate leeches too.
NO alc for a year? I give you a WEEK! LOL!
I love a beer whilst I'm fishing!
I got a ripper 34cm blackie last night in real skinny water!
1st 1 I've kept in a few years!
Love those creeks on fly mate and the blackfish always interest me. And what's not to love about bacon sandwhiches and beer??? Made me wish I was there! Cheers PP
Ever tried sun light soap for the yabs mate?
I tried some kind of soap but it didn't work. All I got was very clean nets. LOL 🤣🤣
Hey you Bro! I almost needed the pop corn for this feature length...... My favour quote. I would rather see a tiger snake than a tiger leech. HA
Thanks Trevor. Haha Creepy things leeches are.
I wonder how much "advice" I will get about healthy eating when people see the bacon sandwich scene? I've put a link to weight watchers in the video description for easy reference. LOL 🤣
I’m from Queensland but I was wondering if you knew any creeks that had trout. I would travel across Australia to catch a trout
Hi mate, I don't know any in Qld. There's heaps down here in. North East Victoria, although they are getting less and less.
There's still a lot in NSW, I have a feeling their fisheries department still stock trout into the rivers.
@@robbiefishing so I should check if the fisheries are stocking trout and what rivers they are stocking trout
@@honkytonk3581 Hi mate, the Goulburn River is probably the best and it's been unintentionally stocked thanks to last year's flooding, so is fishing very well.
👍
hey robbie what fly rod wieght is best for streams and lakes
Hi mate, there are a lot of variables. I have I have a 4wt and a 2wt for streams. I guess a long 6wt would be OK lakes. Or a very long 4wt. I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice on fly gear. Your local tackle shop might be able to provide you with better advice.
Should put a trail cam on that log waterfall to get them jumping on vid.
Hey Mat, that would be cool. I wonder if the trout would trigger the action camera? Or if the flowing water would just keep triggering it until the memory card filled?
@@robbiefishing True! You'd have to have it on the least sensitive mode, but there's only one way to find out.
You eat those trout aswell mr Robbie ?!
Sometimes mate. I don't like to keep too many, but it must be nearly time for a trout cook up.
You should do a vid on how you sharpen your knives
Thanks for the great tip Carl, but I'm not sure that I am the best person to film that video. A butcher would do it better.
Mate love you watching your content I tell you what you can fricken cast
Hey Robbie do you ever eat Trout mate ? I love a good Trout 👍🏻 😋
Hi mate, I eat them occasionally but not often. I would eat them more if fisheries would stock them.
@robbiefishing gotta come down to east Gippsland for a holiday mate and get onto the flat head 😋
Hey Robbie, bacon is never bad and to be honest, shell raw yabbies and cook them in bacon fat. You'll love them.
If you dust them in half plain flour and half cornflour you'll have a nice crisp coating on them.
Hi Mick, thanks so much for the great tip, I'm definitely keen to try that.
hi robbie just wondering if you have any tips for starting a youtube channel
Hi mate, my greatest tip is to just start. Just do it. Start filming and uploading buddy.
I agree, scared of 2 things, leeches and cows.
Haha Cows I can handle, but definitely not leeches. Putrid things they are. 🤣🤣
@@robbiefishing Naa, you will be happily fishing and then a cow will come over and look at you with those big soulless eyes, (you don’t know what it will do). Then the other cows will notice the cow looking at you, pretty soon their is 20 cows staring at you, those 20 big soulless eyes, they feed off each other, start stomping and snorting, it’s terrifying.
💛...i understand you down under fellas have some fatal fauna (snakes and spiders and such), but do you also have poisonous plants (poison oak etc), that need to be aware of?...
Hi Harold, I believe we have some that are poisonous if eaten, but I am unsure which ones.
There is no such thing as alcohol free beer
Well if there's alcohol in that beer I certainly can't feel the effects. LOL
Loved the long video, also it's not the bacon that's killings your waistline. It's the bread...don't be fat phobic, that's a product of 90s marketing.
Thanks mate. I believe that 100%. In January I banned alcohol and McDonald's, February I banned fish and chips, next month I plan on banning white bread. It's a lengthy process. LOL
Fat does not make you fat sugar(carbohydrates) do. Bacon is good for you especially the fat lol. The Beer is full of carbs alcohol or not it will put on the fat just like soft drinks.
them leeches dont like vinegar. pays to take a spray bottle with some in it
Leeches make for good bait...
You can have them all to yourself mate. LOL 🤣 I remember as a kid I use to turn them inside out. LOL 🤣 I couldn't do it these days.
to Robbie Fishing did You dver catch that fivd oounctroutYou ssid You sas onday, one day
Haven't we already spoken about that singing?
Don’t worry about the bacon, it’s the carbs in that bread that will get you. I went on a keto diet (high fat, low carb) 2 years ago and lost 25 kg, improved my kidney function, heart, and controlled my type 2 diabetes to the point of not needing any meds. By the way, I’m in my late sixties. My cardiologist was lost for words when I doubled my fat intake, and lowered my cholesterol!
I don’t know if you test your blood sugar, but you look like a prime diabetes candidate, and remember all those carbs convert to sugars in your body.
I got my first Murraycod today
Congrats
Congrats Lynne!
Good job
Got mine over the xmas holidays
Good job mate. My first fish was a 62 cm murray cod on a $5 ben 10 rod. 🤣
