i have the same burner. i drilled holes in the little lid. one big hole in the middle and 1 hole every second hole on the outer rim on the burner. the you can simre and still use it to turn it off.

Hello Stu, tbh it is a little tricky but being careful it's doable. It's a case of judging how much fuel you put in initially. I hate waste so I air on the lesser amount to start.
