      I DISAGREE WITH YOU !!!! A JUDGING PANEL or a jury to find somebody who can become an ambassador for the competition, to determine a beautiful person inside and out and somebody who is intelligent and can advocate !!!! **IT'S NOT ABOUT selecting the contestant who knows her modelling technique down to the common "T". I THINK YOU MISS THE POINT about what Miss Universe is about or Miss World is about !!!! IT's not a mould and really it's finding an ambassador for each staging of the competition, doesn't have to be the best model or even the most physically striking !!! Just the right or the best candidate for the job and the selection committees would have been doing a good job as previous winners have gone on to becoming great lifelong ambassadors for the competition and even for their countries even when they are no longer youthful and have become elderly so to speak and are still making their marks greatly on the world

      @@user-vb6rj4wq5e Okay but Philippines checked that box too. Like, literally she had the strongest advocacy points among the candidates, she's a great speaker and she was heavily awarded. Yet the judges have her abysmal scoring barley enough to pass to the evening gown competition? Clearly either she was a mean woman behind the scenes or the judging panel was biased this year

    • @user-vb6rj4wq5e
      @user-vb6rj4wq5e 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theblackpearl3880 The pageant judging will always be subjective !!! It's an assessment, like Miss Nicaragua had failed to make the cut at Miss World she did not advance past the TOP 40 !!! Yet she found favour with this year panel of Judges at Miss Universe !!! What this means is that we have many highly qualified candidates vying for the title and it is true that sometimes a girl can get lucky !!! MISS WORLD 1993, Jamaica's Lisa Hanna made a speech which begins, "IF I WAS THAT LUCKY GIRL to be crowned Miss World!", that beginning of her speech shows that sometimes a candidate can be lucky that what she possesses is what the judges and the organisation is looking for in a winner that particular year !!!

      It's a problem now cause unlike b4 they just have to choose a beautiful girl, it's was more or less just a beauty pageant why being beautiful will take u far. Its more than that now, you should have substance and skills, can walk and talk.... WHY they need folks on the panel that can actually judge performance in swims and gown or scrap it and make it just speaking and anyone can judge... can Mario for instance judge their stage performance properly other than she's a pretty girl and I like her

    Yes Australia doesn't look like Catriona Grey, miss Thailand or miss Nicaragua. But she was genuine (no plastic surgery) and very natural looking (she looks like a lot of girls and people can relate to her). I knew she wasn't going to win but it touched my heart when she said that she was inspired by her mother because we feel the same about our mother. It was a true and honest answer. Nobody can believe a second that miss Thailand wanted to be Malala and being persecuted in her country. Yes it was a "wining" answer but not an honest one.

      That doesn't justified to this commentatory! She is basically saying that Australia isn't astrocious and we have nothing against her it's just that there were more women who deserves better! And her qna in top 3 as you said about her on mentioning mother is totally wrong view cause than you shouldn't have a problem with the same approach of colombia's answer and she was more relatable as being a mother she was already living it all makes more sense than Australia's giving an answer about her mother plus whenever you give an answer about your family should be most easiest way to knock out a statement and she didn't do it that as well.

    Great work on the Nicaragua love - she was my pick for winner from her national contest! And she showed up and then some! She still exceeded expectations when it came finals! The woman was unstoppable. I did have our local hero Queen Australia in my Top 5, along with Thailand, Puerto Rico and Philippines! Colombia though was phenomenal so I was VERY satisfied with the overall results!
    Australia's advancement was NEVER a surprise for me. I expected nothing less of Top 5 for her - but no way I was going to give her the crown. Fans will hate on Sheynnis all they want - but she delivered from when she got off the plane in El Salvador - till that crown went on her head!
    If I could change any placements - it would be to swap someone out for South Africa in Top 10; and then someone in Top 5 for Philippines - but NO ONE was going to win that crown over Nicaragua!

    The reasons why so many people are surprised at Miss Australia's third place position is that we had been trained to expect pageant contestants to now move and walk in a certain way. She must have a fierce catwalk in both swimsuit and evening gown. When did THAT became part of the judging criteria? Australia's performance was a throwback to the old days when a contestant let her beauty do the walk and talk. No need for the serpent/tsunami/lava walk or the ridiculous signature poses. In fact, this was not in her personality as I see that she is a laid back, quiet and demure person. In the top 5 Q&A, Puerto Rico messed up by being visibly nervous and she incorporated a well known response from a previous titleholder in her answer. Colombia turned the question around so she can bring up the fact that she was a mother, so they opened the door for Australia to move on. In the end, Nicaragua was unstoppable. Thailand may have given the best answer in the top 5 Q&A but she was outperformed in all the other categories by Nicaragua. In fact, Thailand was under enormous pressure and it showed, while Nicaragua was spontaneous and enjoying the moment. In the end,. authenticity enabled Australia to go all the way to third place and Nicaragua to win the title.

      To me Nicaragua gave the best answer in top 5 Q&A. Her answer was the most sincere. I love Thailand but we didn't get to see her personality that much because she was trying too hard to be inspirational. Nicaragua had a more authentic answer and if you speak Spanish you could tell her answers were flawless.

Just because she was not a fan favorite or was not over the top does not mean she didn't deserve to be up there. The biggest reason why the judges come from different backgrounds is because they want the Queen to be relatable to not just pageant fans but also to everyone in general and it gives a different point of view to everyone.

    I don't know how to put this in words without sounding like I am gashlighting our Miss Universe 2023, Miss Nicaragua. Clearly, she's one to beat when it comes to performance. Without a doubt, she is an easy pick during the Top 5 after the Q&A. In order to beat Nicaragua, you'll need Jesus to make sure all the words you wanna say will comes out out of your mouth. Hence, I am wondering what could have been if Miss Philippines was able to hold that Mic and had the chance to answer those questions. But then, even if Miss Philippines will have an amazing and impactful answers if the so-called JUDGES already have their faves, then the results stays.
    I guess, the new owner doesn't hold on to her mission and vision for Miss Universe as it changes from time to time. Last time, we sent one of the most facially beautiful Miss Universe Philippines and was unplaced due to lack of solid advocacy (We accepted iot and we also know Celeste does not have a solid advocacy). At that time, Miss Universe owner wants a transformational leader. Then, when we sent a candidate with a solid advocacy and has a strong leadership capabilities, she opted for facially beautiful candidates. I hope Mr. Jakrajutatip knows what he wants for his organization.

      4 titleholders and a decade plus placements streak and just because one of your delegates didn’t make top 5, it’s eff to the organization. It appears a lot of Filipino fans are infected with a form of malignant narcissism or entitlement complex where you think you are better than everyone else and they are conspiring against you because they are jealous. Your supposed credentials do not make your opinions any more valid than the opinions of the judges that night, who had more impressive credentials than you.

    I agree with you 100% ... though back in the day when CBS started airing the MUSA/MUNIVERSE pageants beginning in 1968, the judges were always from different fields (actor, writer, business person and maybe one reigning queen), but what I would love to see come back is what they did back in the 1990s, when we got to see each individual judge's score for the competition, so we can see where the scoring is happening.
    But as we have moved into the 21st century, I completely agree the judges should be experts in the pageant field, whether they are a coach, former title holder, etc.

    Australia was one of the BETTER performers in the swimsuit round so i have no idea why you were even suprised she made it to the top 10. I think the fact that people were mesmerised by her beauty (IN A BEAUTY PAGEANT) and elegance during the eg was what made her enter the top 5 top despite me not liking her eg performance as much. Her top 5 qna was stronger than Colombia’s and PR’s I don’t see why you were hating on her sm??

    • @vonnielaurie
      @vonnielaurie 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      A beauty pageant is still a competition. During the swimsuit round, Australia's walk is good but her upper body looks stiff and her shoulder sway looks unnatural and forced but overall , i still think her making it to top 10 was justifiable. During evening gown, she tripped and you can see her kicking her legs up. Her making it to top 5 wasn't justifiable because so many girls performed better than her. Venezuela, though a cookie cutter performance, performed better than Australia. The same with Philippines, Spain, and Peru. There were obvious favoritism by the organization towards Australia but i guess favoritism is bound to happen in beauty competition.

      @@vonnielaurie ,if you are talking about "natural", then most of the other delegates who were doing poses and running their hands up their behinds were far from being natural. Australia showed she didn't need to be along with the pack and basically said "take me as i am". And the judges did. And again, the judges often do not let tripping on a gown be held against a contestant. Pia tripped and stumbled and she went on to win.
