RS Vareo Downwind sailing 10sep2016

Sailing with an RS Vareo at the Zevenhuizerplas, Rotterdam. Great tracks downwind and humming foils as the speed increases. Speed recorded with a speedpuck and achieved a maximum speed of 11.2kts with winds estimated up to 19kts.

Hi,
How about a version with less edits. There are lots of sailing videos where the tacks, jibes, kite hoists and so on are edited out. To get a feel for the boat it would be nice to see what happens. 😊

Zie ik het goed dat je een Velocitek Speedpuck aan boord hebt?
Hoe heb je die gemonteerd? Heb je daar een eigen steun voor gemaakt waarop de bracket zit vastgeschroefd?

Hey Edwin, Ik heb twee regeldragers gebruikt, gewoon verkrijgbaar in de bouwmarkt, en deze goed in de lak gezet. de steun is met Sikaflex 291 aan de brug verlijmd en de speedpuck zit vast met Velcro. Het geheel blijft goed vastzitten en kan zonder achterblijvende schade weer verwijderd worden.

Thanks G, I'm using standard GoPro mounts, the stick is the cheapest alu broomstick I could find, all stabilized by two lines. I think this is one of the best angles and great to learn your settings and boat handling.

how did you mount your go pro?

I used a GoPro suction cup and attached a light alu broomstick to it and attached the GoPro with a handlebar mount on the pole. all fixed with two 2mm lines from the top to both sides of the stern
