Tip 1 When is the best time to come to Rome?
➡️ The most relaxed time to visit is in the low season, i.e. between November and before Easter or in the hot summer months
➡️ Rome is not recommended at Easter, Whitsun, in May, in October and on New Year's Eve
Tip 2 How long should you plan for a holiday in Rome?
➡️ 2 to 3 days can be very stressful, so we recommend planning 3 to 5 days
➡️ It is advisable to only visit one attraction per day, so you have enough time to enjoy the city to its fullest
Tip 3 How do you get from the airport into the city?
➡️ You will find taxis, buses and the train station directly at the right side of the airport exit
➡️ Tickets for buses and trains can be purchased directly at the metro stations
Tip 4 Where should you look for accommodation?
➡️ It is best to book accommodation in the city centre, for example near Piazza Navona or the Pantheon
➡️ So you can reach all the sights on foot and have the best experience on your rome trip
Tip 5 Which tickets should I book in advance?
➡️ Tickets for the Vatican are released 60 days in advance, for the Colosseum 30 days and Villa Borghese should also be booked as early as possible
Tip 6 Around St Peter's Basilica
➡️ There are no tickets for St Peter's Basilica, but you should expect very long waiting times as there are security checks. The least busy times are in the morning from 7.30 am to 9 am and in the afternoon before St Peter's closes.
➡️ You can buy tickets for the dome in St Peter's Basilica, 8 euros if you want to walk all 551 steps and 10 euros if you take the lift for the first half
Tip 7 Extra tips
➡️ Supermarkets, shops and shopping centres are open on Sundays, so nothing stands in the way of a Sunday shopping trip
➡️ Some museums are free on the first Sunday of the month, such as the Colosseum, Castel Sant'Angelo and Ostia Antica
➡️ The Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays, except for the last Sunday of the month, when there's free entry
Tip 8 Culinary delights
➡️ The best quality ice crem gelaterias tend to have less flavours and the ice cream is permanently cooled under the bonnet
➡️ You will find the best restaurants in more hidden side streets than in the main squares. Also make sure that there are no photos of the food or prices hidden on the menu, as these are usually tourist traps
Tip 9 Tickets for public transport
➡️ You can buy tickets for public transport in tobacconists and from vending machines in metro stations.
➡️ You can use the Moovit app to find out when the bus is due to arrive
Tip 10
Be sure to throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain to get back to the eternal city, because there is so much more to discover!

Ohne diese laut Musik würde man dich besser verstehen.
Mal wieder super nett anzuschauen. Insbesondere der entlarvende vermeintlich coole Blick in die Kamera nach dem Werfen der Trevi-Münze 😅 ABER: die schnellen Kameradrehungen in Ostia.Antica haben mich buchstäblich schwindelig gemacht (oder war das der Sekt gestern Abend?). ❤

Wäre es du empfehlen Tickets für Museen online vorher zu kaufen? Oder bekommt man auch immer welche vor Ort?
Kann man dort viel mit Karte zahlen, oder ist Bargeld das Maß der Dinge?
Vor Ort musst du je nach Saison mit 1-5h Wartezeit rechnen. Am besten vorher über die offiziellen Webseiten versuchen- zumindest für das Kolosseum und den Vatikan. Alles andere ist nicht so kompliziert. Man kann eigentlich überall mit Karte zahlen. Lg Annett
