How much do you take off with each pass through the planer? I have the dewalt 734 and even when taking just shavings off it seems to bog down and shuts off.
you show using 2 pipe clamps and a F-clamp on one glue up and it left it bowed out in the middle on the ends because you couldn't clamp as tight with the F-clap in the middle as with the pipe clamps on the ends was that by design? It clearly shows how the wood is bowed out in the middle on the ends when you remove the clamps on that glue up and scrape it. 5:30 to 5:50 marks
keeps your hand further away when doing small pieces so you can hold the piece to prevent kick back usually, but here he uses a push stick and someone else grabs it.
Beautiful boards, but don’t take your safety cues from this video. End grain on a planer is a disaster waiting to happen. Much safer to set up a router sled for milling those end grain boards, though it takes some more time it is very satisfying
Amateur mistake: You went from sanding directly to oiling. You should wet it down after sanding, let it dry and sand again. Then oil. Otherwise the first time this gets wet the grain will raise up and it will feel rough.

Usually to avoid splintering the ends

Why do you cut half way thru with the table saw then back it out. Man that's dangerous! Get a kick back and you will never do that again!

+mtctn7 Also helps to put a sacrificial piece on the front and back. Then just cut em off after planeing.

Wasted a lot of wood. Using 2 clamps and a piece of plywood to set those, they will crack in about 10 years
