The interviewer is certainly great but we can´t take credit for that one ;) That is our friend Adam Weller who was the official speaker on track for our Quick60 Challenge event 👍
To my knowledge this comfortably shattered the lap record for this layout of Mallory Park which was used for car racing in the early 2000's for only a few meetings. Considering it seemed like it was still being set up in every run before the final one, I'd say it probably wasn't even at 100% on its last attempt, which means its probably capable of going even faster!
Absolutely love this car!! And one to one power to weight ratio pure track weapon? That's totally insane man!!! And lastly, I'm so obsessed with those aggressive functional aero kits man including the whole suspension setup!!! I would never get tired of me watching this thing doing hot laps and looking at it all day!! We need more of this kinds of video man!! You better keep on showcasing these glorious perfect track weapons to us genuine car enthusiasts!! IMO, this is the peak car guy's dream I could ever achieve, building your dream car and taking it to the circuits and hill climb events to push its limits!! This is truly a work of art!!! The amounts of efforts, dedication, and love that has been put into this beautiful machine is admirable!!! It's a form of expression that a handful of real car people like you or me could ever understand!! As what Jeremy Clarkson's said on his Top Gear video if I'm not wrong, these machines are also like living entities. It's more than just your typical convenient form of transportation with tons of plastics, metals and rubbers.
Fantastic interview btw, most youtube interviews theyre stuttering, everybody is awkward and nervous laughter. Well done, very confident, clear spoken and professional
I can't come up with a sentence to capture how much respect I have for this magnificent unrestricted piece of aerodynamics, fabrication and engineering
The Gobstopper 2 was the car that amazed me as a kid, I think I remember first seeing it at Speedhunters. Truly got me to understand that there are no limits to making a car go fast, and probably what got me into high-downforce cars. Love seeing that they keep trying to find limits with a new chassis.
How bizarre I was just talking to a guy at work yesterday about the old gobstopper videos that had the prodigy playing on the videos. Awesome car and even more awesome driver.
What an engineering masterpiece to be moving at such speeds yet very balanced. To think. This is a purpose built sports/daily car and transformed to track monster that accells like a LeMans proto. Way more enjoyable watching this than any of todays F1 mosquito drama at that. Thanks for the close up shots too. Every detail and panel work seemed meticulously planned and fitted perfectly as if from factory.
Absolute madness,I love it,just amazing. That BRZ can't stop being amazingly fast,it deserves a Pikes Peak adapted version, and also a WTAC duel againist Porsche RP968
today with modern electronics/ECU & sensors , 3 & 4 cyl turbo motors is the key to light & balanced race cars..the power they can extract from these engines is fantastic and keep them reliable too..!!
Saw this at Brands Hatch last year. Car only ran a couple of sessions, but it looked like it had SO much potential. Can't wait to see it running this year!
my claim to fame is...i worked on both the gobstopper 1 and 2 during the shell preperations...olly and his brother matt are really sound chaps.as for the cars...they are all mental and well put together,if you need your scooby tuned....visit their shop..they can sort you alright.
Wow 😲!! It's a MUST you must take this beautiful mean fast machine to Tsukuba circuit in Tsukuba Japan!! This car will result be a challenge to those other tuners.
Is it aerodynamic resonance or just how the suspension is set up that it starts to "wobble" at very high speeds like on 4:21? Don't get me wrong, this thing is basically witchcraft-fast. Just curious if anyone knows.
Damn thats a tall first gear! At 5:13 that was on full throttle coming out of the corner in 1st gear and it took a few seconds to get up the revs for that turbo spool. Maybe that nitrous kit needs to be programed in for that 4-7rpm range on a low 50hp jet. Damn fast car though! Id love to have a BRZ with a porsche GT2 engine in it..
My goddddd that's a crazy little car. Just think about how tiny the BRZ is, with 940 horses at the wheels. Without all the aero this would be one of the fastest cars on the track no doubt

- Yes.
