The English voices are pretty average for an early 2000s dub. Gotta admit I like a lot of them. It's interesting to compare them since we have some of the characters in Puyo Puyo Tetris. Loved Klug's English voice here in Fever, it's toned down from the large ham sound in PPT. I think the voice in PPT for him is fantastic, but it's so irritating to play against because of Klug's constant screaming in any combo.
I love Rider (Lidelle)'s english voice in this. It sounds exactly like the Japanese version. The Japanese voice for Rider in any game is the cutest voice ever

I really liked the English voices of Amitie, Arle, Klug & Raffina, they fit perfectly. ◠ᴗ◠
Arle got the shit end of the stick when it came to the localized voice acting, she sounds like a 4 year old on crack

I'm a big fan of English Klug. They've got that snooty nerd kid voice down to a T
Puyo Puyo English Arcade translates Diacute as "Full Power!", Puyo Pop Fever translates Diacute as "Diamond Cutie", and Puyo Puyo Tetris translates Diacute as "Want More?".
Puyo Puyo English Arcade uses the title drop instead of translating Bayoen. Puyo Pop Fever translates Bayoen as "All Right!" for Amitie and "Cutie" for Arle.
I chock down the want more to make it flow in English is my guess and bayoen was kept mostly cause most people know the phrase and it will be creative liberties to be honest they do that a lot in fever like changing yu's red wisp come on to different references to ghost films or TV series ie the who you gonna call as a example
Fever voices are perfect, and the timing including how they get cut off or extended during the 3d camera angle in console fever (not shown here) is better

Hey it's not too far off from what the JP version literally translates to: "Give me power!" (which is what they used in PPT)
Oshare bones is an 80's fan because of some of the lines from those times.

Oshare reusues his Avant Garde animation for Psychedelic in this version. On GBA and DS its the same pose but he spins up from the bottom and hearts explode from his fingertip
Oh no, I think the 2nd spell animations for Oshare was unused in the non-Nintendo handheld versions, leaving the 3rd spell to use the 2nd animation and so on. Evidence is that the Avant Garde animation in the console versions to my knoledge is the same as the GBA/NDS Drop Dead anmation.

the translators thought "daicute" from the japanese arle was short for "diamond cutie," when "diacute" means "to make stronger."

I wonder how to change the voice acting in the US/EU version
I was using the PC version of fever for this video and it was just installing the Japanese version and the English versions separately and then recording them though I have heard that the US version of the gamecube version can let you swap voices from the English voices to the Japanese voices but at the cost of loosing the English translation of the game and I know for a fact the DS version has this option cause ive changed it a few times

What version of this game were you recording?
AutZentus this is the pc version since it is the only version release in the UK that looks good and you can swap the voices the day and GBA versions can do that but the voices are bit crushed. With the pc version you just need to install the Japanese version for Japanese voices and English version for English voices it's not that hard to find on puyo nexus or the internet
psp looks good and its portable but ds is best

to be honest I prefer the Tetris voice actors I think they fit the characters more than the fever voices in my opinion and it sounds more professional in tetris while in fever they sound like the actors they got for megaman 8 or a similar case to that game especially arle
i mean, consider the following: puyo in the past was way too obscure, so getting voice actors wasnt easy
and also, matt mercer is in ppt
I only liked Raffine, Popoi and Amitie voice actors

Some of the English lines are so incredibly cursed, but at least some people like them lol.
This might be me being biased, but I like the English voices better.

I know they are but it's just a comparison of the Japanese and the English dub (remember that this is just the first game they changed a few of the lines for puyo fever 2 and onwards
