    Yesterday we did a perforated panel using curtain wall. Today we will make it parametric. You can control the perforate percentage of it.
    Let me know if you have any question or better ideas.

      Good to hear. Although I did this video, I do not recommend this method, a material with fill pattern or cutout pattern is better.

    Good tutorial. These perforated panels are still very memory intensive if used across a large surface.

    • @BINHE615

      Yes, I would not use this in a real project.

      @@BINHE615 Do you have a suggestion for a perforated panel in a real project? I tried using cut outs but in 3d the material was translucent when shadows were turned on. It was opaque only in elevations.

    I was delighted to see this video, neat little thing you've done. Thanks a lot...But then when i tried to use them in non rectangular shape curtain panels ( in a sloped glazing panel instead of the glazed panel),wellll....i was sorely disappointed...i thought this would do the trick, but alas...

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although I did this video, I do not recommend using this method, especially when you have a large area of this "material". Material with surface pattern should be the best option.

    • @Dgr8Basak
      @Dgr8Basak 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BINHE615 that's what i did! Used cutouts in material appearance. But honestly that reduces my options, eg. If i want to export some views or elevations in hidden line mode, I can't, i'll be dependent on the realistic mode.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, there are limitations, for example, we can't get the correct shadow in Hidden Line style. Can you show me what you want to achieve and maybe we can find a more reasonable method?

    Is it possible to hide the join lines between each module in shaded view?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't find a perfect way. You can uncheck the show edge option in Graphic Display Options, but that will hide all the lines. You can use Linework to individually change those lines into Invisible Lines, but that will take you a lot of time... I can do another parametric family with voids if you like.

    • @giannipipoli

      @@BINHE615 oh do not worry about that, it's just a keen finesse. It's ok. I think with void as You said before it's too heavy for memory. Thanks for Your patience :-)))

    • @BINHE615

      The formula in the video is R=sqrt(Percentage*W*H)/(2*pi())
      Make sure "Percentage", "W", and "H" match the parameter names in your family (case sensitive)
