রূপগাঁও (A Knowledge Exchange Center) এমন একটি যায়গা যেখানে আপনি গ্রামীন পরিবেশে একা কিংম্বা পরিবার ও বন্ধুদের নিয়ে এসে নিরিবিলি থাকতে পারেন, প্রাকৃতিক পদ্ধতিতে উৎপাদিত রাসায়নিক সার ও বিষমুক্ত ফসলের খাবার খেতে পারেন, প্রাণ-প্রকৃতি-প্রতিবেশের ক্ষতি সাধন করে না এমন বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে আয়োজিত কর্মশালায় অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারেন, বিভিন্ন ধরনের সামাজিক-সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মকান্ড উপভোগ করতে পারেন, এমনকি অংশগ্রহণও করতে পারেন। স্থাপত্য গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠান Perceive এর নকশা ও তত্ত্বাবধানে নির্মিত রূপগাঁও নামক দ্বিতল স্থাপনাটি মূলত বাঁশ-কাঠ, মাটি এবং কিছুটা দালান-কোঠা নির্মাণ সামগ্রীর মিশ্রণে তৈরী করা হয়েছে।
আমরা স্বপ্ন দেখি বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি গ্রাম হবে দূষণমুক্ত সতেজ, সবুজ, প্রাণ-বৈচিত্রে ভরপুর এবং স্বনির্ভর। এই স্বপ্নকে দেশের সর্বত্র ছড়িয়ে দেয়ার পাশাপাশি বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের সাথে সংযোগ তৈরী করে পৃথিবীকে সর্বপ্রাণের বসবাসযোগ্য করাই আমাদের মূল লক্ষ্য এবং উদ্দেশ্য। আর সেটা তখনি সম্ভব হবে যখন সমাজের সকলের অংশগ্রহণে রূপগাঁও একটি সামাজিক প্রতিষ্ঠানে রূপ নিবে। এই আকাঙ্খার বাস্তব রূপ দেয়ার জন্যই আমরা রূপগাঁও এ মিলিত হই, ভবিষ্যৎ সাজাই, যাপন করি, লড়াই করি আর স্বপ্ন দেখি।
Rupgaon (A Knowledge Exchange Center) is a place where you can live alone or with family and friends in a rural environment, eat organically produced food free of chemical fertilizers and poisons, learn about various topics that do not harm life-nature-environment. One can participate in organized workshops, enjoy and even participate in various socio-cultural activities. Designed and supervised by architectural research firm Perceive, the two-storey building called Rupgaon is mainly made of a mixture of bamboo-wood, clay and some building materials.
We dream that every village in Bangladesh will be pollution free, fresh, green, vibrant and self-reliant. Our main aim and objective is to spread this dream all over the country and make the world livable by connecting with different countries of the world. And that will be possible only when Rupgaon becomes a social institution with the participation of everyone in the society. We meet in Rupgaon to shape the future, live, fight and dream to make this aspiration a reality.
