- I don't think USA has any idea what's coming for them at Evo 2018. Japan has so many amazing players like Matoi, MokeMoti, ACQUA, Verdane and many many more. If these guys could travel, every major international tournament would probably have between 6-8 JP players in top 8.

jake estheim meh, last tournament was a snore fest. Outside of leffen vs GO1 it was the same utter trash we've seen over and over. Cell players and kid buu everywhere. Even the first year of marvel had diversity. Even with dark phoenix being so broken. Besides, Japanese players dominating anime fighters is expected. If not all fighters except nrs games.

I think the problem is Goi getting too predictable. Exhibit A being Matoi punishing bardocks Lariat with jump back falling H. and Exhibit B being that Matoi rarely ever got hit by vegeta uppercut, and was comfortable blocking for long staggered strings.
Big ups to both though. Goi still amazing.

matoi really does seem to have an incredible neutral, but personally I'd consider go1 more of a defensive player, and we'll have to wait and see how matoi fares against somebody who is more on your face

Is this Net play? There is a huge difference playing online and playing with no frame delay. Go1 is a player that plays on reactions especially on defense. Go1 got oppened up so easily which just doesn't happen in tournaments...

Problem with GO1 is the fact that his team hasn't even remotely changed since Bardock was released. He keeps playing the same characters, in the exact same order (Cell first, Bardock second and Vegeta third) with the exact same pattern. That's why he keeps losing lately, Great players watch his videos and can sort of predict what he'll do next and how he'll play. I'm not saying he's not a beast, far from that, I'm just saying that he'll have difficulty because of lack of change.

Beating GO1 doesnt make you an Evo threat. If this was 3 months ago, then maybe. But seeing GO1 lose isnt as rare anymore. Leffen almost beat him, Apologyman got close, Sonicfox has multiple times, so has Fenrich, Kazunoko, and HGG. Also, GO1 looked off. He wasnt blocking a lot of basic mixups, shit that I do literally every match, an IAD after stab, how tf did he get opened up by that? No offense to Xuses, but this guy isnt making top 8, definitely not winners side. Maybe top 16.
HGG only beat GO1 once, and it was at summit, JP players were not prepared for his Dickolo, but he got raped by GO1 at CEO

He and Sonicfox are probably still the two best players, but no one is unbeatable. And beating GO1 doesn't mean you're an EVO threat, especially in a casual exhibition that means nothing.

Pillzer one hm... No. If you're just going off CEO, that's one thing. But last tournament, Summit, Sonicfox beat Kaz, Fenrich, and Go1. Kaz lost to Sonic at Final Round also. HGG also beat Fenrich and GO1 at summit. If you want to look at just one tournament and make your decision, that's cool. But one day doesn't change everything. How does one win put Kaz in top 3, but HGG winning Summit doesn't mean anything? Sonicfox is definitely still top 2. It's funny because GO1 got 5th at Summit and no one was saying he's not top 2. In fact, a lot we're saying he was still the best, despite losing combo breaker, summit, and now CEO. Of those last 3 events, an American won 2 of them. And you're here saying all of top 3 are Japanese... Come on lol that's a joke.

The thing about Kazunoko is, besides GO1, he didnn't drop a single match in top 8, he gave that 2-0 or 3-0 to Apologyman, Sonicfox, the best American Player, Dogura and Fenriti... And dont forget he come from losers, not being familiar with Yamcha is not an excuse here, because Sonicfox, GO1, Dogura and Fenriti have beem facing Kazunoko's yamcha since combo breaker, in JP case, it's since Stunfest,
JP players were not ready to Hookganggod's big dickolo at summit, but they overcame this
I think is fair to put Kaz as top 3 after his performance at CEO, but in the end, players like GO1, Sonicfox, Kaz, Fenriti, HGG, Dogura and some others have the potential to trade matches, they are all tier 1 players, I'd put Chris here too, but he has been passing through a hard time

The only issue I see with their prospects at EVO or other future tournaments is exposure. GO1 definitely got bodied here, but on the main stage with a ginormous hyped crowd, it's not your mama's basement...
