This is a grand reworking of the sound for one of Chuck Jones' last Warner Bros. works during it's Golden Era... and his most unique cartoon, next to "The Dot and the Line."
I *LOVED* "Now Hear This" and "The Dot And The Line". I feel they are the _perfect_ theatrcal shorts to play in front of "The Beatles: Yellow Submarine". :)
It's interesting how this cartoon came out the year before the song "Silence is Golden". Was it a particularly popular phrase in the early 60s? (Did someone use it in a famous speech shortly before?)
Wiki: ' " Speech is silver, silence is golden " is a proverb extolling the value of silence over speech. Its modern form most likely originated in Arabic culture, where it was used as early as the 9th century. '
This is really good. Thus I haven't ever watched the original -but my oh my would I love it - the sound design is really good. it fits well and it's but well timed. Just here and there, but that's but me being picky
No....This was the first Warner Bros. cartoon short to use the "modern" abstract opening and closing sequences, which would be used on all mid-1960s WB shorts, mainly produced by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and Warner Bros.-Seven Arts Animation.
I really like what you did at 4:23 - the new sound builds on the images really well while being very different from the original.
Proof that animation is an art form.
This remake of the sound and the short’s minimalist design make it amazing.
This was a very sharp redesign. Good job.

You did an excellent job on this, and picked a great subject. Hope you aced it!
I can say I like this version a lot more than the original.
Thank you for your appreciation of one of Chuck Jones best :D
So happy I found this, my daughter and I live this cartoon!
Take that, Disney! Originalty counts more than animation fluff.

Great job, Daphne. I haven't seen the original, so will have to watch it to compare with this.
The original is also on TH-cam if you still haven't seen it. Just google the name of the short.
Great job, Daphne, well done.
Thank you Philip!!
Definitely a different take on the short, but I like both mixes.
This is really good.

6:19 Hey buddy now hear this
Chuck Jones is a genius
Certainly a cooler opening than William Lava's rackety rendition of "The Merry-go-round Broke Down." Mellower, less aggressive.
I just saw this with it original soundtrack. This is way better.
In 2018, the cartoon is reissued with new opening and closing bullseye titles, and the cartoon's title segues into the original opening credits.

Sometimes I wonder if QUIET is a word or a scary sound effect? 🥶
Never heard of this until....

Kong: Skull Island.
www.dailymotion.com/video/x3axqh6 here is the original version i would actually say that the remake makes it more powerful
Why did you have to test your final school project on one of my favorite cartoons, couldn't you have done it on another cartoon?
I’m a bit disappointed, the new sound doesn’t match the cartoon for me. I prefer the original sound, it’s so nostalgic.
