Have a CL55 myself and I must say this is really really impressive for a stock vehicle. Running 295s out back and it's finally summer so very happy to see them hooking. BTW @sk8215 is your rear tire pressure at 29psi? Always have mine set at 39psi as stock suggested. Just wondering.
+blinx197 Yeh, I usually lower my tire pressures when ever I drive fast or go to the track. The car seems to grip a little better. For normal use I keep them at around 35 psi. 39 makes the ride a bit harsh. For track days I usually lower the pressures to 28 or 29 psi cold. When they get up to temperature the pressure rises to around 34 psi.
I used to have a 2005 CL65 and thought it was fast until I road in a stock 2003 CL55! It may not make much sense in terms of HP, but I tell you from personal experience that the CL55 is the way to go and a lot less expensive. I'm not sure if subsequent years of production CL55 were are as quick as the 03. Maybe traction would be the key for the CL65. Any thoughts out there on that?
Mike Petroff Quiet interesting. 🤔 And congrats to having driven a AMG 65! The supercharger might eventually play a role when it comes to the 55's low-rpm torque. (Semi-)Slicks on the 65 as well as additional rear weight and a perfect feeling for the throttle (maybe instead of traction control) would be my first suggestions for the 65. Do you have thoughts on why a CLS 55 might or might not be significantly slower than the CL 55? (Yup, small weight and hp differences..) Are gear ratios the same!?
@@Andrej_1987 sorry but this is wrong. this 2006 stock CL55 is 493 hp, your thinking of a prefacelift N/A model that kleeman makes a supercharger kit for....
This îs amazing. Is this stock? Or it has any upgrades? It's a very fast car. How do you maintain it? What kind of oil do u put in it? I have a cl500, but I'm looking to get a cl55
+Bec Daniel In this video the engine was stock. Now I added a smaller supercharger pulley to increase the boost. The rear tires were 285/19 which made a big difference in traction over the stock 275. The spare tire and rear seats were removed in this video. Maintenance is a bit of a problem to be honest. Like they say there's only two types of CL in the world, ones that have broken down and ones that are about to break down. But considering the great car that it is, I would say its worth the hassle. If your switching from CL500 to a CL55 I would say its definitely worth it. The reliability of both cars is probably equally as bad, because the unreliable parts seem to be the suspension, fuel system and electronics which are common in both cars. The biggest difference you will feel in the 55 is the power. It feels almost twice as powerful as the 500. I use Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil in my car, but go with any good brand, as far as the viscosity rating is right for your temperature you shouldn't have any issues.
Fuck, that third run was sick.

Jesus Christ
That moves!
Just a small pulley on the compressor that's rushing like mad, original it`s only 360 HP, compressor tuned and 500 HP =)

@@xfmotorsports what kind of maintenance issues if any have you ran into since the smaller pulley upgrade?
What year is the car?
2006
Did you have the esp off or in dyno mode...? Well done!
Why you record from left angle lol.... Its about 4.1 i think not 3.9 xD
No it isnt its 3.7-3.9
What’s you altitude I’m at a mile above sea level.

SK8215 that explains the quick acceleration!! Great video bro! Thanks for the reply!
