I’ve been pondering getting this monster for a while now. Appreciate you taking the time to review it and show how it works etc it’s certainly given me food for thought Price has been a slight issue but if it’s high quality then it’s an investment just like the wallets etc that will be made in it. Would be great if you could do a follow up in few weeks just to see how you’re getting on with it!
Yea mate the price stings. It is super impressive but it's a hefty price tag. I'll do a follow up but over the last couple of days since reviewing it I can't fault how it works. The wallet does not move in the clam but you don't see any marks on the leather. Exactly what you want out of this 💪
I got mine from Pro Atelier Plus, was was a bit unsure about mine because it had some movement, so I contacted them and they sent me a video showing what I’d got wrong when I assembled it. Once I’d corrected that it was solid. I know what you mean though, instructions would definitely be helpful.
Exactly this! It's just one of those things that would mean we could avoid situations like this and just use the tool without having to muck about with it. It's a fantastic tool no one is arguing that it just seems unnecessary to have to go through that when a simple instruction manual would sort this problem out. 🤷♂️
I like that you used horween shell cordovan, horween shell cordovan is a really good leather and i love horween shell cordovan. Horween shell cordovan. Horween shell cordovan. 😂 😉
Great review Chris! One thing I had to modify on mine was the two set screws that secure the clamp to the arm. I set screws included did not hold the clamp secure and left it with a lot of movement. Yours seem to be secure so maybe they changed the set screws.
Thanks mate! Yea I struggled with the screws too. Took me forever to figure out how that worked. It's a great tool but a guide on assembly is kinda a must for me if your going to ask people to assemble it at home. 🤷♂️
The design of the mechanism for clamping the Maxita stitching pony to a table is not very flexible. There are many tables and workbenches that this clamp design will not work with.
The moment i put my eyes on this thing i knew i couldn't settle for any other

Looks like a nice piece of kit.

Yeah it might also work better if it was manufacturerd slightly angled to compensate for the jaws spreading with preassure
