Listen to this bizarre story. This drunk girl that I used to be friends with in high school called me one night threatening to kill herself. She had pills, alcohol and a gun so she said. She wanted me to come over the next day but my work is really busy and I told her, before she told me about the gun and pills that I could come Sunday but since it was Tuesday and I had work I would not be able to see her till Sunday. Then she told me about the gun and the pills and her husband being in jail and I was like oh my God I’ll drop everything I’ll be there tomorrow what time works for you and we made a plan. I didn’t hear from her all day and I’m thinking WTF?? Finally when she called she acted just as happy as a lark and said, “did we talk last night“ and “I thought we made some plans“ but “I forgot though I have plans to walk with my friend so-and-so so maybe we can hook up later.” What happened to the suicidal bawling crying girl who said her life was over!
I was totally flabbergasted! Keep in mind this girl and her life is a mess an absolute train wreck and yet she’s calling me and telling me how she has lunch plans with so-and-so and then plans to walk with a different so and so and then she’s going to a dinner party and for the next three days she’s just so, so, so busy but she’ll catch up with me in a few days and “maybe we can make a plan, maybe!”
Needless to say I dropped her like a hot rock. Isn’t it weird how the dysfunctional people who have the most screwed up lives will call people like us who are grounded and stable and financially doing well and treat us like dirt like dirt on the bottom of their shoe that they might need to scrape off every once in a while. Gross people.
