I'll tell you what, best darn Mexican Cornbread ever. I did add a couple of things to my ground beef. I added petite canned tomatoes and a can of green chilis with the onions. I didn't have an cheddar cheese so I use pepper jack, and a boat load of jalapenos. Also, I didn't have the cornbread mix, but I did have what was in my pantry, the old Jiffy Mix cornbread, worked out fine with the buttermilk and whole kernel corn. Dang this was so good. Had the pinto beans too. Bacon grease, sauteed the onions, added some celery flakes, cumin, and mexican chili powder, garlic and onion powder. I was in comfort food heaven last night. Thank you, I love your recipes. Please don't ever quit.

I'm really pleased that Mme. Talli Faye appears to have presented a traditional "Indian-corn"-based alternative to accompany all her great "Southern" classic dishes. Instead of compromising them with %$&*!! f...'n mashed, stewed, boiled, oven-baked etc..etc.potatoes. Also, repeating myself, "Southern"-style "biscuits" are also far-far superior company for her style of cuisine. As is less "Southern" potatoe dumplings, Yorkshire "pudding" & potato 'pudding'..etc, ALL of them have a far more pleasing textures to complement her dishes than the monotnously gummy, mushy texture of the potato "sides" that should be banished from Mme. I watched your video on the chocolate cake. To get that rich dark looking Chocolate Icing, I melt my butter and put the cocoa in it. It turns black. Add that to powdered sugar. Cocoa will max itself out. Meaning you'll get to a point where it doesnt mattwr how much cocoa you add you wont get a more chocolate flavored icing. Its the warm melted butter that turns cocoa dark. I am so sorry your daddy passed, I know how you feel both of my parents are gone now and the pain is real. I have my mama’s old recipe box and she has in her handwriting, recipes written on old napkins, on newspaper clippings and all kind of things. I wouldn’t trade that box for the world.
