Outstanding very detailed work and tutorial... Thanks so much
You're very welcome! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great DYI video. I'm having similar issues with my 2008 Yaris 392,000 miles. The part with disassembling and reassembling the fuel pump is the best part of the video.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 I know that for Toyota Yaris 44.1 to 49.7 psi with the engine idling is normal, but my question is what if the pressure is 42 at idle, is that considered low?
Such a wonderful video. Never seen any video with step by step diagnosis and then also the way the fillyer was tripped to show whats inside. This what exactly i do. Lovely video
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
my 09 ScionXD comes with the same fuel pump/filter system and of course, also got cloged after 14 rears and 140.000 mls. What i did,i'd drilled two 1/4 holes, top & bottom where the filter element goes and pulled in parts.after plug holes, went to engine compartment, pulled fuel hose from firewall and fuel rail and instaled a metal fuel filter from a 90's Ford car/truck so i'd saved factory fuel pump and since then all i have to do is open the hood,i don't even have to remove battery, replace filter and forget about filter in thank and save over & 500.00 dlls. for f/pump unit.I even add a on line fuel pressure gauge
Good luck to all of you, best regards from Mexicali,Mèxico
Great repair, Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
So untoyota like in placing filter in that. Why not in line easily replaceable one. Hope I don’t hav3 to do this. The plastic clips so brittle too? Can you post where the evap pipes are in engine bay plse no amount googling can find. Love watching your work vlogs helped me loads esp on berlingo fuel leak under rear wheel arch
When the car comes back, I will make another video Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video! But I don't understand what u said after 31.54 didn't that change fix the problem?
The car runs lovely, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
there's a sticker on the hood compartmenyou can find the information you need there.good luck!
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi,
When you had to unscrew the exhaust to check the catalyst, did you have to change the metallic gasket at reassembly ?
Thanks
No just put it back, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Thanks for your answer :)
Thanks so much. My yaris has been doing this since last September, taken it a few shops they wasn't able to figure out the issue. When changing spark plugs it seems to go a few for about 3 weeks then it comes back. I'm going to try replacing the fuel filter.
I was still having issues, but this sorted it, Try disconnecting the vacuum pipe from the evap solenoid in the engine bay first, leave it disconnected and see if it makes a difference, just block the pipe engine side with a screw/bolt, and leave the tank side open to vent, tie the loose pipes out the way job done, the issue is fuel being sucked down the vent pipe and flooding the engine. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11could you make a video of that? I’m not where that vent pipe is
Hi mate can u make a video on that pls thanks
Thanks so much. The problem is resolved, turns out on mines it was the rubber boot of the coil pack that was causing this the boot was slightly cracked, it didn't trip the engine management light or anything.
Why do they put them in the tank BMW/ Mercedes don’t 😮
It is a pain to get to, but its supposed to be a lifetime filter, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
to force to buy the all unit!

Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thank you for this wonderful video brother
Glad you enjoyed it Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I hope this is my issues thanks, though mines a 2004 T Sport Im getting the same intermittent rough idle near stall and the odd loss of power during driving. Completely random with no engine light or codes.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I have a juddering at 30 miles an hour and thought it might be the mass air flow sensor. I have cleaned and the problem persist. I will try changing the spark plugs next. I don't appear to be leaking any fuel, however, the car seems to miss fire and hesitate mainly between 20-30mph. Any guidance would be greatly apprecaited.
Do you have any fault codes stored? Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
What is the part number of your complete sender unit, the number on the label at the top, is it 77010-0D020?
Also can I confirm the part number of that Denso fuel pump #DFP-0104?
The links to Amazon for the filter & motor are they still valid for this fuel assembly?
The links all work and the part numbers good, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks...got exactly the same problem on my 2006 Yaris. Fuel spill and power loss. Had to change the thin pipes and filler pipe due to corrosion. Now i have ordered a pump + filter👍
Good stuff! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Thanks for the tutorial...but (imho), the real filter is the one on top( half circle shape) so u will have to replace the upper part. Its quite common problems with Toyota.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I have a similar issue with my yaris 1.0 engine. It cuts after driving when idling or driving at low speed especially after driving for about an hour. Once it happens i yave to wait for a while for the car to move. What could be the issue.?
Try removing the evaporator pipe from the inlet manifold, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
putting the cap back on is pain in the arse watch your fingers or else you will cut your finger on sharp edges.
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi did that replacement feel the difference now . One small thing I can feel petrol smell and the petrol cap when opened doesnot give pressure not sure if that is sealed or not
Thoughts pls
Just check the sender seal is fully down and no fuel is leaking, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Fuel pump line contain 50 psi pressure, the way you joint the pipe again with filter will it hold pressure
Yep like a dream, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hello nice vid, but there should be another fuel filter under the car or hood? Regards
this is the only one Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hard work what a hard job you sorted it hopefully.
I have 2001 Yaris never given problems use shell high octane every so often.
Thanks
I think the the broken pipe in the previous video may account for the dirt in the tank causing the filter to block, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
They know how to robb people 1000 plus vat for that thing wtf
Tell me about it, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hey man thanks so much for your video. I went through all this hassle just to find out I got the wrong filter. The one I got has the connection for the pump dead in the middle. The one in the car is off center. Any idea how I can make sure I get the right filter? 😢
You wont know for sure until it is removed, buy both and send back then you don't use, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 cheers thanks for your reply bud. Problem is I couldn't even find the proper filter, I only find the "incorrect" ones... Seems I would have to buy the corresponding fuel pump, which defeats the purpose of replacing the filter - my idea was to replace the filter periodically to avoid breaking the pump...
Such an amazing video I heard that Yaris fuel filter is life time system so this means that it needs to be look at
What was the mileage on this one
I think it was around 100,000 miles Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Maybe a stupid question, but don't they have a separate fuel filter as well to stop this happening?
Many cars have secondary fuel filters but these are used to stop tiny particles blocking the fuel injectors.
The one in the tank is to filter the fuel so the fuel pump doesn't get blocked by all the crud that is in the tanks at the petrol station.
The only other way you could filter it before would be to filter it as you pump it in. This would require much lower filling speeds.
At the end of the day many cars will never need a replacement and I'd imagine this Yaris will never need another again.
This is the only filter on the fuel system, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Ive got a yaris diesel 2012 is the fuel pump located In similar place
Yes there will be one in the tank, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Hey Anton! Having the exact same problem right now with my Yaris. Did this solved the jerking problem?
Try disconnecting the vacuum pipe from the evap solenoid in the engine bay first, leave it disconnected and see if it makes a difference, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thank you so much! Tried it and it seems to work! Should I change the evap solanoid? Do you have any tips?
just block the pipe engine side with a screw/bolt, and leave the tank side open to vent, tie the loose pipes out the way job done, the issue is fuel being sucked down the vent pipe and flooding the engine.
Gents where is evap solenoid located I have 1nrfe engine Yaris 1.3
@@jacobborjesson6411can you please send me pic of this solenoid and pipe that's off. I need to do the same
What a horrible design with the plastic ring! Yeah, it´s cheap.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Unfortunately, not only is the plastic clamp cheap, but the design is also flawed.
The primary charcoal canister is part of the unit. Their typical mistake is that fuel gets into the engine through the exhaust branch of the gasoline vapor, so it jerks and stops even while driving. If you pull off the lower tube of the secondary canister and gasoline flows out of it, then this is the situation.
@@robertnagy2456 Is there a video that address the canister issue?

@@aaanton11 Thanks for the answer and the info. From my diagnosis I can say, that the fuel tank has a venting problem which causes either an overpressure while standing or a vacuum when consuming fuel - which also will be the reason for the EVAP to suck fuel while driving instead of air causing the engine stalling. Sadly this car does not have a fueltank pressure sensor to monitor the EVAP system itself.
It seems the venting mechanism is not standard and is done via the fuel pump (I saw venting hoses connected to it in your video). I ordered a new fuel pump from HELLA 8TF358 303-121 (100€/112$) and a original charcoal canister to further narrow down the problem. I keep you updated...

so , i work in f.italy , when it first did problems, did not found filter parts .. not even originals .. so i changed all the pomp, whit a "used one "from a scrap yard , anwyay, today after i filled the gass tank , the "filter" warning lighted up after like half hour . a friend of mine , a truker .. told me that i have too much water in the gasoline .. .never the less, thnx for the grate video
Usually only diesels have a filter warning light, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
gasoline has too .. but acts diferently . my case for example : my alternator , was dead (i managed to change it today ..a little fortune to find one in autodemolition, and some elbow greesse) so ..when the alternator is dead, that simbol for the filter/fuelpomp lights up ..because need energy ..now it can be the built in filter of the imertion pump, or the pomp .. my case, soon asfter the battery symbol lighted up.. so those too .. told me that must be either the alternator, or the batery ..anyway, your video is quite informative, so thnx again :)
