As a side note, Victor's technique is so good! His weight transfer is so subtle and smooth that you have to slow mo or pause to see it. The break down was sick! I'm gonna implement that in my surfing and see what shakes out. Keep it up Kolty!

So awesome seeing the surf footage review and explanation, would love to see more! You explained a lot of these turns better than I’ve heard anywhere else

Loved the way you broke things down with your own personal take different to all the “surf coaches” out there. Even the hand gestures and explaining laying board on rail the metaphor of g force and the reasons behind the arm movements was really helpful thanks!

It’s so wild to see people in fullsuits still when it’s warm enough to trunk it. I definitely learned something today tho, I’m gonna start putting more rail on my turns and see how it goes

Helpful vid and awesome footage. Especially the early part talking about coming around the section and what you’re looking for. There’s already lots of content talking about body mechanics but not so much talking about how to choose a maneuver ahead of time and what the signs are that you’re looking for. If you could talk more on that it would be great.

More content surfing small, softer, crappier waves is always appreciated as well. Seeing you on unideal equipment for the conditions could also be fun like a hpsb in mush and groveler in steep pumping waves👌🏼

Dane’s grab rail carves are so aggressive looking, it’s freakin mental every time he does it.

The difference is compress down into the bottom turn, back arm thrown back for spring, then coil/compress into wave as it pushes into you, then when you square out of coil or unwind around its a big hack/gouge. See Andy do it in first turn. Next is the carve with the same, coil into wave energy, so you're buried into it, then square/shoulders open out of it. If you don't compress into bottom and then into wave its less effective. The difference is managing coil and getting deep into bottom then get deep into the face of wave with coil, and then you square or open up and out. You want to feel buried into the face to carve or hack out of it. You can turn it into a wrap a down carve or a rail gouge depending on what the waves doing. Just watch Andy do it. Also, another secret from the 90s is their boards were narrow so getting the back half of board deep into wave face and rail to rail out of it was better.
