One thing that didn't make it into the video is that I really like to bake pizzas twice when I have the time. I'm not sure what that second reheat does exactly, but pizza places that serve slices do this all the time and I think this helps mimic that experience. Just pull it out once it is done cooking, let it cool on a rack, and then reheat for a few minutes. I usually do this when I'm cooking multiple pizzas for many people. It also helps control heat so I'm not serving a slice at one zillion degrees and burning mouths.
These tips are TOP notch! Honestly probably the best video I've ever seen on pizza tips! I'll definitely be trying the shredding your pre-shredded vegan cheese tip! I love using 00 flour too, and making cast iron pizzas! I love making homemade pizza for the weekend for the family and I'm always looking for new tips - you provided me with SO many! By the way loving the new kitchen set up!!
Love all of the tips. I had not thought of putting a sauce on pizza. Pizza is such a perfect food, and so versatile. Freezing dough is a great idea. It's like having the basis of an emergency meal in the freezer......what a gift to my "future self"!
I really want to try a vegan pizza. Thanks for the inspiration! Im several years in the pizza game with stone and want to try to live a period vegan. (For personal exerience) But i can animate anybody to make their own pizza dough, its so easy and fast without making to much mess. To make your own dough, you need 5 mins and 30-40 mins resting. Meanwhile you prepare your indegrients... I think defreezing need more time than make it at the moment, but its not a bate to the creator, just a personal opinion. Greetz Kai
I was born and raised in the St. Louis area and I desperately want a vegan version of IMO's Pizza. The provel style cheese is unique even for traditional dairy, and I want to experience that again without the animal abuse (obviously) I would love to see you attempt this if possible!
As a pizza nerd, it’s not the sauce (& it’s definitely not the stuff drizzled on top in order to mask everything. …I swear I come in peace). If your foundation is sh*t so is the rest of your house. Same with pizza. Vegan pizza isn’t an exception to this rule. And remember that it’s alive. Spend time learning how best to treat & handle it, even if it’s deli bought dough. (Also, don’t use store bought cheese, unless you’re a beginner. Whatever cheese you use, drizzle the top olive oil. It gets all vegan cheese to behave much more like non vegan mozzarella.) Highest heat setting on your oven, & a long preheat, will yield the best pizza. When you’re ready, elevate your pizza with 2 steels. Writing a book about it so you’ll have to work out why on your own. 😉
Yeah that stuff is good too for sure. I personally prefer shredded block as I think it has more flavor depending on the product. It also tends to spill off my pizza when I use a peel. That could be user error though.
No matter what, but for me, personally, still impossible to make good pizza, because no matter how many melted vegan cheeses I’ve tried, it’s still tastes like…👎🏻
I don't know what it means to be a "Pizza Purist", but I *am* judging you for putting pickles on pizza... only because pickles on *anything* (or even by themselves) are disgusting. ;P
Edgy Vedge inspired the pickles on pizza idea to me, and I thought it was delicious. For me, I like the Indian philosophy of flavor mixing as Deepak Chopra has said, which is like hitting the different notes on the taste buds.

I find my homemade pizza tastes noticeably better when reheating the next day. Much more crisp and better texture overall.

Ranch on pizza??
But I agree with the pesto on- it's delicious
Ranch on pizza is common in the Midwest US, I think. I first saw it when I lived in the southwest where it was popular too.
Amazing video, with all the information you could ever want 👍👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
after 9 months of not having an oven i'm finally getting a new one soon, guess what's the first thing i'm making 😂
I like to use old sriracha bottles as free squirt bottles 💯💕❤️🔥

second comment. the stick blender into a can of tomatoes is BRILLIANT! I always hate how tomatoes stain containers and bowls and stuff
I just bought some flat bread pizza ready made dough. I have been wondering what I should do with that block of daiya I have in my fridge!
The cheeze tip is really a winner!
Useful video! Thanks:)
