One of the matches you might very well call a 'classic', going back all the way to when AI battles in Crusader were just coming up several years ago. :D I think back then wolf usually won due to his european troops which are just superior in the vanilla balance. SPOILER ... and he still does in my version. I felt like this was something I had to keep as a given. Aside from Caliph wolf is the only one using pitch fields in front of his castles, always at the front 'edges' were they can achieve the most damage. This completely slaughters Saladins horse archers. ^^ It's a very simple counter and thus not really an elegant one - but it works very well. Wolf, the veteran that he is, just knows all the tricks and is outsmarting even opponents that are being called 'The Wise'. :D Still, felt pretty close. There was one attack were Saladin didn't take the usual route with his patrol horse archers and dodged the pitch fields - and immedieatly cleared all of Wolfs defenders. ^^ Didn't help that wolf was launching an attack on his own just then. :D But he crawled back up from the hole Saladin threw him in and made a nice comeback. :) Happy to see him collect his first wins! As you said, the score didn't reflect his capability at all to that point. But I guess there will be a few AIs that for now seem to be pretty strong that will collect a few heavy punches when the tournament is progressing. ^^ Nice to see these battles being loaded up back to back! :)
A great battle, Wolf did a great trick with the return of the troops, with proper luck Saladin could win, but Wolf really deserves to win! Thank you for continuing to release these battles!

He is! With his small castle he probably would've beaten the Hyena, cause unlike his big castles, the small one is set up fast and more resources go into an early army defending him against the assassins.
