That's Run DMC but Beastie Boys kept putting out music when RUN DMC sort of lost their steam ahem. Raising Hell, Run DMC and King of Rock are all fire albums. From 84,86,88. The first rappers to ever get a sneaker endorsement with the promotion song My Adidas. That and the fact they were rap's first selling super stars. Bestie Boys, Public Enemy, Run DMC and LL Cool J were on the label Def Jam which still exists to this day. All first old school acts, and LL's new album produced by Q Tip of A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite hip hop albums this year.
If you think Beastie Boys are one of a kind. You gotta introduce yourself to a Rapper named Kool Keith of the Ultramagnetic MCs. He is one of the most creative and unique Rappers of all time. Started rapping in '84 and still killing it today. He is overlooked because he is very odd and doesn't follow the same formula as most of the Rappers on here. But if you were to ask dudes like Nas and Rza about Kool Keith. Theyd consider him a GOAT and are fans of him.
Watch the 3mc's &1DJ video, piped in live as their performance for an MTV Music Awards. 1 take, 1 dj, 1 record, no beat machine. 100 percent hip hop from concentrate. Enjoy
The Beasty Boys are amazing. they took a style popular in the early days and explored it to the max. for a trio of Jewish white kids, they have all the credibility because they were there at the beginning. they toured with Run DMC, Public Enemy and discovered LL Cool J. They started out as a punk rock band before crossing over to hip hop. you should def check out "Sabotage", "So what cha want"," Paul Revere" and " Get it together" featuring Q-Tip from tribe called quest. their videos are dope in a home movies type of way but don't sleep on their lyrics, because they have punchlines for days
1st platinum selling rap album ever, They and Run Dmc started Def Jam records with LL Cool J (They discovered LL)The biggest selling rap album for over 20 years, and the first rap world tour (Madonna, Run Dmc, and later Public enemy joined them)in 1987. Rap was struggling to gain ANY listening power on the radio, and had very little chart showings. The movie KRUSH GROOVE in 1985, with the Beasties hit SHE"S ON IT, and their first album was the first and only time since BLONDIE's RAPTURE in 1981 that rap got accepted in Manhattan, main stree America, and then the world. They are the Elvis Presley's of rap.
@@TheBriReactsdon’t worry about it. Many reactions to this song by people who never heard it before. I was 20 years old in the 1980s and I never listened to them until about four years ago, mostly from TH-cam reactions.
Stay consistent post every day you will do great on the tube.
