first run for me today in neo vista, first thoughts gives me a softer option over my SuperBlast. versatile shoe, only cons need better laces and the grip in wet is average at best.
It’s funny you mention the grip. Originally I had thought the grip was decent. I took them out on a 20km run yesterday and it was a little wet. They seemed to be very average.
It’s strange. When I’m running east/long it feels great but relaxed with the soft midsole and knit booty upper. Honestly does not feel like a shoe I would run fast in. But when I pick up the pace it just seems to work. Very smooth.
I over pronate and I’ve had a history of various pains in my feet, ankles and knees. This shoe shouldn’t work for me, but it does like nothing else. I ran in it for a couple months before starting 1/2 marathon training and now I’m 6 weeks into training. All other shoes have fallen out of my rotation because nothing feels or performs this good. And it has protected my feet and my joints like no other. I’d like another shoe to pair with it, but currently I just can’t bring myself to run in anything else.
It’s such an interesting shoe. You would think a tall stack height of squishy foam and a knit upper might really cause problems for someone who over pronates but it seems to work for a lot of people. Definitely not a stability shoe but just seems to keep me moving forward
I had looked at this shoe, and was considering it, but then the Superblast V2 became available. And for me, and my current shoe rotation, the Superblast V2 was a no-brainer. I missed out on the Superblast V1. But after great success in the Novablast V1 and V3, I assumed it would work well for me. 2 runs in (16k, 21k pure LSD) and it's so far exactly what I was looking for. Big test will be tomorrow where I have a series of longer efforts at MP/HMP. Look forward to your updates on the shoe and your training!
When I was in France I had the Superblast 2 in hand and they had my size. Was in a bit of a rush and could not pull the trigger so I decided not to pick it up. Regretting that decision a bit. Would love to hear how your run goes tomorrow
And just as a warning … you are responsible for how mad my wife gets if you report back on the superblast v2 and that convinces me to go out and pick up a pair 😂
@@WhatMatterstoMatt Superblast V2 are great up to half, faster than that, they feel like too much shoe. Kinda how I view the Alphafly V3. I get the impression the Superblast V1 had more top end, but I can see how the V2 is a much better longer distance shoe.
I’m new to running and still only do 5k at ~6:30/7:00 min/km. Do you recommend this shoe for a beginner like me? I plan to improve my pace for a sub 30m 5k and later do my first 5k. Thanks and congrats for the video
Unfortunately there are no running shoe stores near me that are willing to carry the shoe but I am able to purchase this half off used with 75 mi on it. Just trying to figure out if it's worth it.
Interesting. Whether it is worth it or not could be a hard question. It's definitely worth it if the shoe is going to work for you and what you are currently hoping to get out of it.
They still feel pretty good. Just about at 200 miles and they are holding up well. I actually just did a 25 km (15.5 mile) easy (sorta easy 😂) run in them this morning. I would say they have lost a little bit of pop or bounce vs when they were new. But honestly expected that out of a shoe with that much soft foam in it. It’s made it’s way into that (I’m not really sure what I’m going to run today, so I’ll just grab these category). With the booty knit upper and the high stack of foam they are feeling a bit to relaxed for an all out speed session but still fun to run in
Yes. They are for me. I think they will likely fit a number of foot shapes as well. I get a bit of bunching under the laces because I have a lower volume foot and have to tighten up the laces a bit more. But it does not seem to bother me on the run
I was ready to buy this shoe until I noticed the sides of my forefoot would hang over the midsole. Did you have the save experience? Do you like this shoe better than Saucony Speed 4?
Interesting about your forefoot hanging over the midsole. That’s not something I noticed but I would say I have a slightly lower volume foot so I don’t generally have a problem with shoes being too narrow. I’ve only had the chance to do a 5km shakeout run a few weeks ago with the speed 4 so it’s hard to say for sure. The speed 4 feels like you have less shoe on foot (lighter) which makes it seem to have quicker turnover, more agile and probably a shoe almost anyone can get along with. Neo vista offers more protection, is a ton of fun for those steady runs and offers a unique ride. If I had to choose and I was looking for a daily trainer that would handle the bulk of my mileage I’m probably leaning to the speed 4. Some of that might have to do with all the miles I have in the speed 1,2 and 3 though. Sorry if that’s not a clear answer, hopefully I get some more miles in the speed 4 soon
I ran 12k in mine Wednesday on a mixture of road, compact beach sand, woodland manicured trail and rough cliff top coastal tracks. Ran it half marathon pace and was amazed how quickly I recovered when I finished. By the time I’d taken them off my heart rate was back down below 100
@@snowwalker9999 Apologies that was meant to be a stand alone comment, not a reply to you but I think so, the pace builds up and you get into a nice rhythm, especially on flat firm surfaces. Really enjoyed the beach section on firm wet sand

Best super trainer since the NB SC Trainer v1
Definitely a lot to love with this one
Agreed. I can run easy, long, and I even did 8 x 100 in it! It can go any speed I want it to.
