Most DJ's now are full time producers, some with finished music school, some self trained. They use DJ equipment to showcase their tracks at party's. Some buy samples for example, everything from drum section and some make everything from scratch. Look at it as u want. DJing is easier part but go on and make something on your own. You would not be able to reach that DJing part of the job. Old school DJing is different story. No matter what dj tools u use some homework is needed just like u need to train with your bend for live tours

I now can say I have some respect for this band, because even though you draw in a number of head slammers, to call yourself a musical artist, you need to show you can sing. The rest of the band has already proven to me their talents, but I needed to hear this from the front vocal to solidify them as an actual reputable band. I may get heat for this, but I myself am a musician, an artist with a thriving heart and I know good music when I hear it...This video showed me that Slipknot are musicians, not just headbanging machines.
Slipknot has always had melody. Purity, no life, wait & bleed, prosthetics, snuff, vermilion 1&2, etc. All these songs have harmony with pain. There has always been melody from the very beginning.......well once Corey joined up anyway. Guy has always had a voice for all styles. The best hardcore groups always do, that's my feeling anyway. Also a fellow musician, I read sheet music, play multiple instruments, everything from jazz on a sax to the heaviest $hlt ever heard on guitar to the most melodic renditions on same said guitar. Variety is key as a musician, especially if you want to have not only a career at it but a lasting one as well. The best ones can do just that. As any true musician knows, you never truly master the craft. You can always get better. You never summit the ability to grow. I have played guitar for 32 years but I still haven't got to where I would love to be as far as classical guitar. I have tons of room to improve my spanish guitar. It's an enduring constant, being a musician. It's forever. That's what I love & hate about it.
