“…I feel a great responsibility to creating a good man in this world…” 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I felt that deeply! This conversation was right on time for those of us with sons ❤️
I just finished listening to this episode. Y’all have no idea how much y’all help other mothers just by doing this podcast. I am a boy mom and tell you this has been a stressful week for me. His father and I coparent great but it all falls on me since he lives with me full time. But the pressure of trying to do it right is stressful.
I was listening to this at work and trying not to break down. I’m 39 and had my son at 22. Now I’m married and been trying to conceive for the last 5 years. My husband has no biological kids. I’m still trusting and believing God for us to have a baby! 🙏🏽
This was a much needed conversation. I am a boy mom and my son is currently 13 years old. Raising a black boy as a single mom is not easy and I resonated when she said, I feel a great responsibility to creating a good man in this world. Thank you for this episode 🤎
I’m pregnant with a boy…I wanted a girl so badly. I felt like I needed a girl but deep down I knew my husband needed a boy more. I went through gender disappointment and everything. I did not want a boy because I’ve had bad experiences with crazy boy moms in the past who think their sons are angels that can’t do any harm. I think a lot of boy moms see their sons as better versions of their husbands and their fathers and then project that onto the women who date and marry them. I’m very happy to have him now and love talking to him and comforting him in my womb. I now can’t imagine things any other way. One thing I hope to instill in him is he is not an island and he has to be empathetic, caring, and selfless in a world where men are usually very self absorbed and isolated. Also, being a fully developed adult and knowing how to care for himself whether or not he meets a woman to marry. Seeing grown men not being able to make groceries, cook a nutritious meal, shop for a decent outfit etc is so heart breaking.
Parents please lead. Exposure is key. Let them experience a little bit of everything available to them. With your guidance, they will learn what they like. Remember, we/they all have the right to change our minds. Give grace, love and patience, for the kids and you. We all fall short sometimes. Learn to appreciate the journey. Happy parenting.❤😢
I’m a boy/girl twin mom. Sleep deprived after spending 5 hours on my daughter’s hair & my son getting into stuff because he got jealous lol I still think i probably baby my son more & challenge my girl b/c she’s so emotionally intelligent. It’s a challenge but i do try my best to make sure they both feel loved and have equal attention.
