    These settings are what has worked for me, with a pretty powerful PC (3080, Ryzen 3700X). I wasn't getting the performance I should be until I changed these (ESPECIALLY THE MIN/MAX FPS SETTINGS) - I'm no expert so apologies if it didn't solve your particular problem. If you have corrections/things you would do differently, please put them under this comment to help other people and make sure I don't make the same mistakes in future videos! Thanks for your help!

      @@gtaiv2993 Aggravates the shit out of me, too, lol. These guys think the minimum frame rate target is just some magic setting. Let's not forget it's not even doing anything for him since he's on a 3080 @ 1440p. He's not even dipping into the below 60 fps range. How did it do something for him? WHO KNOWS?!?! He said he's running at 120fps without any problems.
      The minimum frame rate target, as mentioned, enables dynamic resolution scaling which obviously effects the visuals... arguably more so than any other setting ever could.

      I was sceptical of this, but gave it a shot. At 1440p native I could turn down to 70 to 75% (1080p rendering), and the in game sharpening restored it to almost native level of quality (I bumped sharpening up from 60 to 70%). Well worth it since now I can run at 120 fps on a 3080 (using 120 fps in-game cap) with far few frame pacing issues. So much smoother and enjoyable.

    i have minimum frame rate off, maximum fps unlocked, vsync off IN GAME, limit interactive frame rate off, low to medium settings and 0% blur. in nvidia control panel in 3D settings: max frame rate set to your monitor minus 1 (144 hz panel; 143 max fps), monitor technology: g sync compatible, power management mode: prefer maximum performance, texture filtering quality high performance. try this out

    Didn’t get far into the vid before you mentioned the Halo Infinite-specific driver for AMD cards. Just looking up “rx 6600xt driver” for my rx 6600xt (where one would expect the most up-to-date drivers to be) only pulls up the default drivers, not the new halo infinite driver. so i when i saw on other outlets to “make sure your drivers are up to date” i thought i had that covered already. I had to specifically look up “amd driver halo infinite” and download that one. Went from 30 fps the second i stepped into the open world on all low settings to 60 on medium, and i have yet to try it on high settings. Might have seemed like a simple off-handed tip but it completely rescued my experience with this game. They should have made this info more mainstream, thanks so much!

    I don't think I am having the same problem. My game was running perfectly on a 144hz monitor and a 6800 XT at a 90fps cap just to keep my card from trying to 100% utilize. I finally beat Tremonius and went up the elevator. After that the game became instantly unplayable. All of a sudden its 30 fps and feels like 30hz. Restarting isn't fixing it or anything. Its just broken. Another broken game released by another company that doesn't seem to care. Its unplayable.

    • @GeekyPastimes
      @GeekyPastimes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's to do with having cloned display. My Gaming PC is outputting to a Gsync monitor set to 120hz over Displayport, and then that display is cloned to the HDMI cable going to the Elgato capture card (which then goes to my streaming PC). You cannot have G-Sync when one of the displays is over HDMI, because it isn't supported over HDMI, because of the nature of the way it works. G Sync changes your monitor's refresh rate to match whatever your GPU can put out, but the Elgato doesn't support G Sync, so it doesn't work.
      So I run the game at a steady 60fps or 120fps, there's no problem, my main monitor will display every frame on time, at 120fps, my capture card will capture every other frame at 60fps, and it will look smooth. If the game runs at anything other than that (so a slight drop or rise above it), there will be tearing because the frames aren't being delivered at the right time to the display to match the refresh.
      V-Sync will force the game to only put out frames for the timing for 60fps (or 120fps) but obviously that means occasionally the game will be waiting for the next refresh cycle to update the frame, rather than doing it as soon as it's ready.
      Thankfully at 60fps that's only 16.67 milliseconds at most, because that's the gap between the frame refreshes, that means the most input lag it can create is 16.67 milliseconds. Since people struggle to notice anything below 100ms, it's not really a problem, unless you're playing something like counterstrike with a mouse at 240fps, but then none of this would be an issue anyway. IF you're running at 120hz (like my monitor is), that's like 8.34ms, which is unnoticable.
      TL:DR - The only way to avoid tearing with a two PC streaming set up is V-Sync, and while it would be maybe introducing noticable input lag at 30fps, at 60/120fps it's not really an issue.

    Decent video, but the title is misleading. "no quality loss" isn't accurate at all, setting min fps to something your PC can't do will dynamically reduce the resolution to hit that FPS target, also known as DSR which is something consoles use very often. In the case of Infinite it isn't as noticable like it is in other games, but still looks like shit compared to running the game at native, because in reality, you're reducing the render resolution that the game presents to you. A GTX 1060 will struggle to hold 120 FPS in any situation, so setting the min framerate to 120 will reduce the quality of the game to hit that target. In this situation, you aren't running the game at native 1080p/1440/4k. In the case of the 1060 you would be running somewhere in the ball park of sub 720p resolution to hit that target.
    Interesting note, setting the FPS cap to something you can maintain will massively reduce CPU load, but strangely enough it's tied to the in-game framerate limiter. Using external methods to cap FPS doesn't have the same result, it appears to have nothing to do with actually capping the framerate and thus reducing the load, it's seems to be something with the engine itself because using something like RTSS or the NVIDIA feature to cap my framerate doesn't reduce the CPU load, but the in-game framerate limiter does, even when RTSS or NVIDIA override it still.

    I don't have any fps issues while in game but when I'm in the main menu it's around 94fps BUT if i dare to move my mouse for like 1cm i fall between 8 and 23fps the menu is horrible for me.. any idea how to fix it??

      I saw one reddit thread that suggested disabling dvr or disabling the entire xbox game bar fixes this. Im getting freesync flickering from this low fps in menus and am going to try it.

      Figured it out. For me it was literally because of windows 11. Do not install windows 11. I went back and it fixed literally all my problems, fixed stuttering, fixed game recording softwares making the games stutter. Fucking everything. Do not download windows 11.
