    Cragar's look great on any 60s/70s muscle car as far as I'm concerned.

    In the 80s when I became of driving age these wheels were popular. Unfortunately the centers are aluminum and the chrome eventually peeled dut to the impurities in aluminum. After a few years the chrome would begin to lift. An iconic wheel though.

    Impressive improvement to the look of those wheels. Nice job dude. Pizza, spaghetti and tomato sauce works good for removing rust from chrome too. It won’t fix the areas where the chrome is gone but it’s surprising how well it works. I think I let it sit overnight if I remember right.

    • @TalkingMoparsPodcast
      @TalkingMoparsPodcast 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Cragars make it at least 2% less shitboxy. LOL! Are you serious about the sauce? That's insane, and would make a great clickbait video! LOL!

      @@TalkingMoparsPodcast True dat. Yes, I’m serious. I did it on the front bumper of the 69 wagon. It’s since rerusted from sitting but it did work. Not perfectly, but it made a difference.

    The good year Eagle S/T I always loved them tires the would leave good marks on the pavement with out having to get hot to do so if you had a automatic transmission back in the that would hit second gear hard they would leave marks good and we all know it’s about the marks you leave 👍

    Good job showing the washers on the Cragars. Most guys just put the incorrect round ones on there, which can cause a loose wheel and broken studs.
    I think the rear 15x 10's have too much front spacing. Too much "reverse." If your suspension compresses, you'll have the quarters hit the tires. I'd put the other two 14 inch ones on the back and keep looking for some 15x7s or 15 x8s. Maybe the tires that came on the plain steel wheels have good tread and sidewall.

      I know people won't like to hear this, but I recently just raised it 3" by putting it all the way up on the shackles. Plenty of clearance now. Not going to be good for racing, but I'm going for a specific look.

    I been picking up aluminum slotties for the last several months. 14x6 all way up to 14x10 . Then into 15 inch same way . Since my 69 cougar has the slots . Now the 71 satellite will have a set . The 69 superbee will have a set . But the road wheels (magnum) look good too.

      The camera does them a lot of justice. The sidewalls are cracking. Very unsafe tires, so I will not be using them.

    Good job on the wheels. The Naval Jelly is only supposed to go on rough rust. It won't do anything on chrome or clean steel. In fact, they tend to stain it. But you got it off quick enough. I think I'd try to sand the coarse rust off the outside of the wheels and brush paint some silver paint over the black spots.

    • @TalkingMoparsPodcast
      @TalkingMoparsPodcast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The jelly definitely made a difference on the really aggressive rust, but the steel wool did most of the magic to these wheels. I do like the idea of brushing some silver paint on after the coarse rust is sanded off.

    Hey man, great video. I think you would do well to make an instructional video on unilug wheels and how to install properly. I just spent an hour trying to find some assistance with installation. I understand that putting a little grease on the upper/lower side of the washer will help them slip into place.
    I'm gonna go try again...3rd times a charm
    Unilugs suck, but I bought my set of 4 for $300 cdn, and dammit, I'm gonna fight with them until they are installed correctly.
