Enjoyed the video! I want to upgrade some inserts. I store my games horizontally, mainly because I'm worried the original inserts won't hold things in place vertically.
My upgrades in no particular order (1) Resource upgrade (especially for Kingdoms of the West Kingdom type games) (2) game sleeves (3) Player mats - Had some custom ones made for Marvel Champions, Ashes: Phoenixborn and Argent the Consortium (4) Coins (Scythe, Lords of Waterdeep, Dune Imperium) (5) Coin capsules for circular card board tokens (Bullet by Level 99) (6) Token upgrade - purchased acrylic tokens for Dice Throne and then upgrades for Ashes: Phoenixborn
I can't believe I forgot about playmats! I was trying to get a nice even 10, but just couldn't come up with anything. Player mats/game mats probably would have come in at number 7 or 8 on the list. Thanks for watching and sharing!
I do a little upgrading myself including sleeving all my cards of non mass market games. I do highly disagree with the wooden boxes for a couple of reasons. First is they terrible to transport. The tops don’t go all the way down, so they can open up. The rubbing against other games scratches and wears away other game boxes. The second reason is the same reason I don’t use wooded inserts. Over time, components get worn from rubbing on the wood. This is why plastic and whatever “Folded Space” uses is far superior. Plus their lighter weight. I liked this video with the exception of the video itself. The constant focusing issues were extremely annoying. Hopefully things go well for you and you get the money to upgrade your camera. I like the wooden boxes as "upgraded cardboard", but they are super bulky, and I agree the Folded Space inserts, while not as good looking as wood, are just as sturdy when glued, and so much better for transport. I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of the constant focusing of the camera, but so far I've only been able to get it to auto focus, or "set it and forget it" focus, which isn't good for trying to get it to focus on specific things at different times. I agree that it really is off-putting. Thanks for watching and commenting!
