Jeepers all good things must come to an end but you two had great time and we enjoyed going along together. Thank you for sharing looking forward to the next
Loving watching you beginning to learn about Thailand, its people and trying some of the amazing foods available. The small bananas are a different variety from most imported into Uk, and are usually very sweet. Please continue to try the Thai foods, you will eat more healthily and save a lot of money too, compared with snacking from the 7/11 shelves. Ask for “mai phet” meaning not spicy, or “nid noi phet” for a little spicy. Only just found you, otherwise I would have been delighted to show you around Hua Hin where I now live. You saw only a snippet of the town and environs. There are wonderful waterfalls, jungle, parks, caves, mountains, restaurants, mile after mile of stunning beaches etc. Good luck on your next adventures.
Thanks so much Nick we will try the small bananas when we next see them 👍 we are loving our travels here and discovering new things every day it great!
Just love your laid back no worries lifestyle, I also have been looking for a GoPro mount and you've solved the problem, they make one for my helmet, thanks very much. Stay safe, can't wait to see what you end up riding!!
Fantastic series, guys, especially as I, too, ride the Interceptor 😁😁. Rich, that black Interceptor you liked is just like mine ❤. Take care and safe journeys 😊
I'm 71 next year and I'm still in love riding my RE 650 Super Meteor. It's around a 340 mile ride from where I live to Falmouth in Cornwell. Two up she ran a treat at 70mph there and back. No complaints apart from the read suspension. Something that I'm hoping won't be an issue when I go back next year 🤞.

Hi you two, Shame the REs have gone back but I am sure you have something else lined up!🤔 Thanks for the regular vlogs, they make such a difference...LYB, Andy & Lyn.
😅I left my NC750X during lunchtime last week on a street outside a pub and in full view of railway station platforms. THE Police called me to say it had been stolen. It was on CCTV being taken in 30 seconds by two yobs with an angle grinder. This is urban England 😢
Wow, the uk is almost an embarrassment now. I’m gutted to say it being English but we have to be honest with ourselves and address the problems as a nation
I have just holidayed in Crete. Thousands of bikes and scooters in all shapes and sizes. I saw no disc locks at all. There was just one beaten up, nondescript light-middleweight with a chain round the back wheel. Helmets (if one was used) would be left on the seat. The crime rate is very low and people are friendly and honest. Before I left for good I had three bikes stolen in UK. Never had one stolen in 25 years in four African countries.
I live in Thailand & owned a Kawasaki GTR1400 it was a fantastic touring machine on long roads but in town it was way too heavy (315+ kg) after nearly dropping it on a few occasions I opted for somthing lighter but could still tour & was easier in town traffic…I now own a Kawasaki Versys 650 which for me personally is a perfect compromise. Take care
Super trip, cream otra. You've picked the right brand. 2 650 bears would suit you with a 3 piece soft panniers set up. It's enough space. I know because management and I are currently running a 452 Himmy, 2up. Plenty of power for 100 to 110 kph. And go anywhere. Easy 250 mile tank before looking for fuel, too. The best bit is they are equipped with a cathedral cheddar cheese sensor programmed into the RE app. Never be without. Ride safe 👍
You’ll be lost without those bikes guys !!! But I’m sure you’ll get something sorted for rest of your stay 👍🏼Hope you have good luck with the Drone Rich 😉
(9:30) the 650 comes with 7 different gas tanks, colors (I truly like the Green over black gloss). now trying to configure the touring model. that you were riding rich. you can't install passenger foot pegs Platform on the bike, if you get the saddle bag set up. (The saddle bags, support arm, would attach to the passenger foot peg. (The wife, likes the floorboard type foot supports), so, now I would have to find a company that makes a trailer hitch, so, we could pull a small utility trailer.
Hi yep live near London just sad that we save to do the hobby we love and we live in a country we're we can't park and walk away without the risk of it not being there when we get back good luck with the bike hunt and the first drone flight ride safe guys
Thanks so much, I can’t imagine how bad it must be being around London with a bike. We really wanted to go to the bike shed and visit other places in London but for us it’s become a no go area of the uk by motorcycle now. The risk just outweighs the reward there
Good evening Rich & Eva, it was sad you had to hand back those lovely Royal Enfield 650s, but it’s been a fantastic & fascinating experience so far watching you travelling from Thailand to Bangkok, the food is very interesting as is the architecture and the lack of basic H&S! I hope you get the drone up & running & that tomorrow you manage to borrow 2 bikes to continue this brilliant journey together, Good luck guys🤞😊
I think drones work everywhere, but in Thailand you have to register it, just like in Europe, if you plan to fly above 30 meters. In Finland, the annual fee is 30 Egee/year.

Head to Mae Rim and then go into the jungle for an unforgettable experience turn R off the Samong Rd at Mae Ram. Hmong village untouched by tourists, waterfalls and hot springs to bathe in. Well worth it.

I’m not sure it’s all of the UK where you’re likely to have your bike stolen where I live I’m not certain but I’m pretty sure I could leave my bike out unlocked and nothing would happen. Until a few years ago there was a garden centre in one of the small towns, no gates fences or security everything just out more or less on the roadside and as far as I’m aware nothing was stolen. The clothing on a bike is a difficult one when I lived in Australia it could be just 1 or 2C coming home from work at night but going it might have been 45C difficult choices to be made on what to wear and sometimes it was keeping cool as most people did, I usually wore protective gear but sometimes gave in and took a chance.
In the uk theft is a real problem, almost an expectation. Even the locks don’t really matter they will use battery angle grinders in broad daylight whilst people stand and film on their phones
@@ontheroadadventureI agree it is a problem but it isn’t everywhere, there are places where all crime statistics are very low such as my area. I suppose you can’t take a a worst case scenario and apply it uniformly everywhere this is why my insurance is much lower than people living in other areas. When I go to the north of Scotland I know chances are no one will Nick my bike I’ll still be cautious but chances are minimal. If I go to Edinburgh on the other hand I know I could turn my back and the bikes gone same in many other cities. If I do venture into high risk areas then I use LITELOK X3’s that can’t be easily cut with angle grinders tests with mains grinders took between 6 and 10 disks to cut through. I also watch where I park and if it feels dodgy I move on. It’s not just the UK of course all over Europe, some of the latest figures show 20k thefts in UK 26k Italy with France, Spain and Eastern European countries also high.
Its a shame people just dont have better morals, id never forgive myself if i had done something like that, People need to learn there are better ways to achieve what you want... Such is life
5:50 the tendency of people in places like India to ride in flip-flops and other non-protective footwear is apparently the reason RE put the heel shifter on some of their 350 bikes, so you don't have to put your bare foot up to the gearshift. I guess anyone who can afford a 650 can afford decent footwear.
You can get cheese at the following supermarkets: Tops, Villa Market & Makro. You can get craft slice style in most places including Lotus & 7 Eleven etc Be warned proper cheese in Thailand is pretty expensive
@ontheroadadventure import duty on foreign sourced food drives the prices as does exchange rate Thais don't eat cheese the way we do,not in huge demand, so no volume economies of scale If you ever pass a Robinsons mall or Central, the supermarkets in there have loads of cheese. Makro you can Google locations, only issue with them is checkout, big queues as small businesses use Makro a lot
Get a flight to Chiang Mai, plenty of bikes to rent up there. 300 cc to 500 cc plenty big enough for the north. Have a CBR300R over there, we ride all over the north 2 up with gear, no problems. Tops Super Market has cheese along Makro Super Stores.
Sad you had to give the REs back. Good luck with getting the drone back up and running. Would love to see you both in India come and join us in Jan 2025 in Goa on a Royal Enfield we are hiring
In last 25 years we have lived in 15 countries. The only one you need to be scared of loosing the things is UK - seriously I am f...g disapointed. Central Africa, North Africa. Far Est, Eastern Europe - nowhere there there was a problem with loosing the things - UK really is f...ed up to be honest.
I'm Indian and lived in the UK for a few years. I saw so many middle of the day bike thefts at traffic lights in london. We have our share of theft but only in certain areas which everyone's aware of but never in major cities.
I'd all dismissed Royal Enfields until about 3 years ago when I bought a Himalayan 411 to use as a winter bike as I ride all year round. These bikes aren't fast but they are rugged and simple to fix and for me makes an ideal 2nd bike. The new 452 is a better bike but for me it just lacks something. Is it going to be shanks pony from now on or do you have a cunning plan?
Bananas - It's the variety. I prefer the flavour. Though they have imported the larger ones and grow them for the European tastes... Just ordered a Chin Mount for my helmet - you need them to sponsor you.
I love that the Thai people change the exhausts of their scooters, bikes even the cabs or tuktuks as you brits call them and we indians refer to them as rickshaws.
Tuktuks are a three wheeler on a bike, whereas rickshaws are a 3 wheeler on a bicycle. It's not the same thing. Thailand and Sri Lanka called their 3 wheelers tuktuks. Great to zip around with.
@@ontheroadadventure I ride a Honda ADV150. You can do thousands of miles on them. Watch the Scooter Cannonball. They cross the USA every year on them. $5 LOL
There are cheese in Lotus. I personally know the biggest dairy distributor for Thailand representating some of the biggest brands in Europe. Just ask for assistance from their service staff.
im sure just a cliff hanger but if you needed collecting i have a driver i use to collect me from the airport and take me to my apt by the sea when im in thailand.
UK was a place once, where theft was uncommon. Unfortunately poor government for decades has allowed criminality to thrive. Keep paying your taxes for f all. BTW. You two are great..
All I know is that it feels so much better here to not feel the need to constantly have your bike in your sights the whole time. People trust each other here and are pleasant to each other. It’s fantastic
@@neilurquhart8622 Having seen Thai programmes about drug dealing, the sentences are extremely harsh and the prisons are very grim with large numbers housed in a single room overnight, fleas and ticks etc , there is a deterrent to crime the UK just doesn't have, a slap on the wrist or a cushy prison cell in the unlikely event you do go to prison
Could you have bought ( price depending ) a donor drone and swapped the parts? Not sure if the price of repairing it back home is more expensive than buying a New one in Asia? Look forward to next episode of “ 2 can ride a tandem” 🤣
Please read "drone regulations for Thailand" on the 'drone traveler' site. Its likely too late to register your drone for this trip as it takes time. But at least you should be aware of the flying limitations/restrictions and the consequences. While getting caught is indeed remote I wouldn't take this too lightly or shrug it off. At the very least learn the stautes surrounging drone use. I'm minus 1 drone now and was fortunate to use "local means" to rectify my circumstance and avoid the more uncomfortable ramifications. The fact "everybody does it" was not entertained in my case. In actuality I was within the rules/guidelines of flying. I suspect the fact of being a tourist might work in your favor though. 🤷 Just plead innocence I guess. 😊
The reason your bike's are safe is because anyone stealing from you go's straight to jail for a few year's with a big fine. England you get a little fine and a talking to. 🙄
Ohh really, we had no idea. I dated a girl once for a while but one day she took her socks off and shown me she only had 8 toes. I had to end it. I was Lacktoes intolerant 😉
today's video is proper advertisement for RE - shame on you guys ;-) I understand you are gratefull you got them for free but at least you should say: "let us pay back to RE" - eh...

Oh wow that is interesting and does make sense
You can get cheese at the following supermarkets: Tops, Villa Market & Makro. You can get craft slice style in most places including Lotus & 7 Eleven etc
Be warned proper cheese in Thailand is pretty expensive
Perhaps the cost of it is why it’s not in all shops then? We will search out the cheese!
@ontheroadadventure import duty on foreign sourced food drives the prices as does exchange rate
Thais don't eat cheese the way we do,not in huge demand, so no volume economies of scale
If you ever pass a Robinsons mall or Central, the supermarkets in there have loads of cheese. Makro you can Google locations, only issue with them is checkout, big queues as small businesses use Makro a lot
good stuff guys
Thanks ☺️
Get a flight to Chiang Mai, plenty of bikes to rent up there. 300 cc to 500 cc plenty big enough for the north. Have a CBR300R over there, we ride all over the north 2 up with gear, no problems. Tops Super Market has cheese along Makro Super Stores.
Cheese?! We are on our way north then! 👍👍
@@ontheroadadventure🤣🤣🤣
Sad you had to give the REs back. Good luck with getting the drone back up and running. Would love to see you both in India come and join us in Jan 2025 in Goa on a Royal Enfield we are hiring
Yeah we really enjoyed them, you’ll enjoy what’s to come just as much though we think. Who knows about India…
Man, check out the bundles of cables that hang off the street poles!
Yeah it’s mental, most of it is fibre optic cables for internet, top layer is electric
Guys Lotus has a lot of cheese....it's in stand up refrigerators.... Ask someone who works there where it is
No joy yet, we were in one looking earlier but it was a small town shop
Great video.
Scooter taxi tour?
Rent scooters?
Cub 50s?
2nd hand bikes?
Scooter taxi tour?
We did consider getting the grab bikes to tour with us for a laugh but didn’t think they would be up for our next plan!
@@ontheroadadventure Could get expensive. I do wonder how far they would take you.
An adventure for sure
We know you can actually take another guide like that in India and go pilly on his bike! Can’t say I fancy that much
In last 25 years we have lived in 15 countries. The only one you need to be scared of loosing the things is UK - seriously I am f...g disapointed. Central Africa, North Africa. Far Est, Eastern Europe - nowhere there there was a problem with loosing the things - UK really is f...ed up to be honest.
Parts of Italy are not very good for bikes being stolen,
Sadly Europe is getting just as bad for bike theft now, lots lost theirs in France last year
It’s the same all over Europe now..
@@ontheroadadventure said but true
I'm Indian and lived in the UK for a few years. I saw so many middle of the day bike thefts at traffic lights in london. We have our share of theft but only in certain areas which everyone's aware of but never in major cities.
Get the train upto Chiang Mai rent some twist and go's from Pops and do Mae Hong Song loop.
A fine plan 👍
I'd all dismissed Royal Enfields until about 3 years ago when I bought a Himalayan 411 to use as a winter bike as I ride all year round. These bikes aren't fast but they are rugged and simple to fix and for me makes an ideal 2nd bike. The new 452 is a better bike but for me it just lacks something. Is it going to be shanks pony from now on or do you have a cunning plan?
We have to agree, there’s allot to be said for simple bikes that just work.
I’m not up for too much walking so hopefully we will sort something out…
Bananas - It's the variety. I prefer the flavour. Though they have imported the larger ones and grow them for the European tastes...
Just ordered a Chin Mount for my helmet - you need them to sponsor you.
Tell them you saw it here 👍
They are quite good but do take a week or so to come as not local to the uk
I love that the Thai people change the exhausts of their scooters, bikes even the cabs or tuktuks as you brits call them and we indians refer to them as rickshaws.
Yes some of them are massive!!
Tuktuks are a three wheeler on a bike, whereas rickshaws are a 3 wheeler on a bicycle. It's not the same thing. Thailand and Sri Lanka called their 3 wheelers tuktuks. Great to zip around with.
Every day is a school day
@calvinang1 our indian rickshaws are neither a 3 wheeler on a bike or cycle. Theyre 3 wheelers specially made with their own engines and chassis
We need to find one we can have a go in!
Rich and Ewa on Scooters. I would pay to watch that.
Can you really imagine us two on top silly little scooters? The miles we do? How much? 😉😂😂😂
@@ontheroadadventure I ride a Honda ADV150. You can do thousands of miles on them. Watch the Scooter Cannonball. They cross the USA every year on them. $5 LOL
Now that is something i want to see! and then take part in!
There are cheese in Lotus. I personally know the biggest dairy distributor for Thailand representating some of the biggest brands in Europe. Just ask for assistance from their service staff.
Will try and find it, only a small shop where we are today
What is the bag you Carry the drone on?
It’s a drone bag from DJI
im sure just a cliff hanger but if you needed collecting i have a driver i use to collect me from the airport and take me to my apt by the sea when im in thailand.
Thanks so much, one thing about Thailand is the grab tacos are awesome, in Bangkok your always able to be on the move
Look at the hover x1 pro
I’ve seen it advertised online, I haven’t looked into it properly, the camera needs to be really good to replace the DJI!
Ritch that’s the thing in Thailand they love there super motorcycles lol
Love it here!
UK was a place once, where theft was uncommon. Unfortunately poor government for decades has allowed criminality to thrive. Keep paying your taxes for f all. BTW. You two are great..
Yeh maybe but I’m not sure it’s all down to governments…surely it’s the people and their upbringing?
All I know is that it feels so much better here to not feel the need to constantly have your bike in your sights the whole time. People trust each other here and are pleasant to each other. It’s fantastic
Something needs to change and soon, Thailand shows us life can be so much better in the uk if only we were all better to each other
@@neilurquhart8622 Having seen Thai programmes about drug dealing, the sentences are extremely harsh and the prisons are very grim with large numbers housed in a single room overnight, fleas and ticks etc , there is a deterrent to crime the UK just doesn't have, a slap on the wrist or a cushy prison cell in the unlikely event you do go to prison
I wouldnt fancy it much!
Shank’s Pony for you guys.
That won’t last long in this heat!
Could you have bought ( price depending ) a donor drone and swapped the parts? Not sure if the price of repairing it back home is more expensive than buying a New one in Asia?
Look forward to next episode of “ 2 can ride a tandem” 🤣
Haha Push bikes would make a slow going tour! We will have to see about the drone after a test flight when I can
Can you ride tandem chuck 😂 , Good luck Tomorrow
Haha I don’t think pedals will work for us
...based on your ride observations, what touring bike do you see riden in Thailand? Get out of BKK and go up north.
Will do 👍
Rich must have been well cheesed off when the supermarket failed to deliver 😂
That wasn't very mature of you!
Gutted… 😞
😂😂😂 Cheese jokes finally catching on 😂
Rich, how was the beef tongue and duck egg?😂
Bet he didn’t eat the tongue😜
Duck egg was good… I soon lost interest in the mince when the others were discussing what they were finding in their bowls…
Yes it’s important to make sure you have what you need and insurances for it too here
You are not in England, you are in the civilized world, which is why many things are different.
Sad but true!
Maybe, not sneer at the food so much !!
Thanks for joining us 👍
The reason your bike's are safe is because anyone stealing from you go's straight to jail for a few year's with a big fine. England you get a little fine and a talking to. 🙄
That’s exactly as it should be in our opinion. Thailand just seems to have it right
The "small" bananas are how bananas were before we started actively breeding them to be bigger... Those are close to natural bananas.
I am gunna try one then. Does this explain why a banana in seven eleven comes in a plastic packet?!
@@ontheroadadventurethey are vacuum packed to ensure a longer shelf life due to the tropical weather.
ahh i see
Lucky buggers getting freebie bikes to tour Thailand. How much would it cost if you had to hire them for the duration mate?
I’m not sure but it simply would not have been a option for us, we are on a extremely tight budget
@@ontheroadadventure enjoy it m8. Weather here in Torbay is shite. Looking forward to the next vid.
See you tonight for our more budget option!
Rich & Ewa yes but i know Thailand love there motorcycles but there theft is none prison
As it should be
Maybe that cheese you eat and look for all over is not real cheese after all 😂😂
Rubbish! 😂😂

Bugger camping here!!
"Thats not very mature of them is it?" LoL. Thats SUPER CHEESY!!! I think a lot of asians are lactose intolerant.. so you will need a cheese sensor..
Ohh really, we had no idea. I dated a girl once for a while but one day she took her socks off and shown me she only had 8 toes. I had to end it. I was Lacktoes intolerant 😉
india a giant step too far for Riches eating foibles
Lol Goa would Best the best option for Riches palette

today's video is proper advertisement for RE - shame on you guys ;-) I understand you are gratefull you got them for free but at least you should say: "let us pay back to RE" - eh...
Did you watch the same video as me? I didn't pick up on that.
They were amazing to loan us the bikes. Great to work with RE 👌
@@ontheroadadventure that were my thoughts as well ;-)
So RE kindly gave you two free bikes for ten days yet you returned them in a filthy condition!
Shameful 👎💩

I don’t know if you noticed the Royal Enfield Logo on your Super Meteor 650? The logo is a cross between an Indian Motorcycle and Royal Enfield.
The original 1950’s Super Meteor was a joint venture between Indian Motorcycle USA and Royal Enfield UK
Interesting, I didn’t know that 👍
