As a beginner, I find these videos very helpful - and funny too.
But we all need to Lighten Up.
    YT is "International" audience,
commenting (mostly) in "English", listening to a "German", speaking "English" and making "Karate" jokes.
All while trying to learn the basic strokes of an "Indian" instrument,
The roots of which go back into time before any of those concepts were points of argument.
    Pax, Shalom, Namaste, Salaam...
    Digg?

Its made for beginners, because ta is not so easy in the beginning and I have seen many people struggling and even giving up ... so thats the way to come straight away on the point of doing ... and it works ... they play after a few minutes tagegege. But the lessons I start with nagegege, because everybody can play this na`n`ge and so I can work ... from the beginning with harmonium ... normaly a few minutes theorie (5%) and then direct abhyasa (95%) ... with lahara of course ... and then karate to learn the "not anymore so difficult" ta, so they can again come together with lahara with tagegege ... us ke bat ... dhenanage, dhetage, Dhetetage ... just to set the basic hand ... then as usual ... AND IT`S CLEAR ... everybody can play this drum from the first lesson ... and it`s good for them, because they love to be in action ... playing music ... lll;-).

... dhanyawad gurudev singhji for trying it out and I hope, you or friends in your agalbagal me also could go straight away into playing ta ... all my Students love it and get so the propper fundament for ta ... it`s easy also for me like that ... and humor is always jusefull, because most other pakhawaj teachers are a kind of danger looking towards beginners ... and I consider that as a kind of "poverty certificate" ... egomaniacal and absolutely useless ... treat them like familymember ... kion ki mridang he ma ... Jay HO

... pakhawaj is quite sportive and like "loha ka chana" (bolte he sab) ... like eating chickpeas made from steal ... and so some muckis (muscles) are very juseful for this instrument ... so some sport is phantastic and if someone is doing martial arts beside a little ... then haihai and bon appetit ... ;-)))

Its an old tape somewhere in a box ... and when I get time to search then I have to convert ... and it will be not in the next weeks, because no time. But something I remember very well ... I expected Kudou Singh ... but he was into Pansee ... very melodious playing ... strong and clear ... So really I have to see when I get time to put it on the net ... will let you know ... ;-)

The best teacher are yourself ... consider all players as teacher ... look at them ... check their hand ... but of course you`re veeery right ... a propper system to guide students should be developed ... guru here and guru there occurs in india like "devide and rule" ... because shastras say it veeery clear ... sangeet belongs everybody and isen`t private property ... I have worked out something ... most welcome ... Sadar Pranam

Joerg Kaufmann is Swiss German. Do some background checks before accusing people of mimicking accents i.e. Indian accents. Check German accents and try to figure out the differences in pronunciation. for example swiss german, austrian etc
