I really can't tell you how much I agonized over WHERE I could see what the challenge/quest details for completion was! This really helps a lot man!! It never mentioned that you have to speak to your partner in order to see what the challenge/quest actually is... PS. As a player of Dark Souls series and Bloodbourne, I can say I feel this was WORSE than those T^T T^T
Lol I'm also a big Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne player. Got a playlist for both. I like doing random stuff or made up challenges for entertainment, like fighting one of the Cathedral giants without hacking at his feet. It was fun x) But yeah, while this game will explain things way more than Souls games, the way they explain them is actually less helpful than not being explained anything at all. Incorrect information is more harmful than no information. Not only do they explain stuff unclearly, but they'll even say things that are flat out *wrong!*

Yeah HF was like that too. It has no real cohesive guides. It's so bad that I - a nobody - pioneered a lot of discoveries and kinda made a (small) name for myself with my content lol. HR not AS much, but at least I'm known for cool-looking combat. I did discover quite a few things on my own, but others were info given by friends on GF in a group of info-sharing xP
Oh hey! Good to see you were able to find how to start the Skill Fusion leveling. The Attacker Skill Fusion exclusive skills should be on your skill tree. You're actually able to buy them before even leveling any of the Skill Fusions. That's what I did before finding out how to be able to use them lol.

Oh, so if you have Attacker as your active Skill Fusion, you should be able to just put any battle skill that's considered Attacker on your skill tray, and can use them as long as you have one of those as your EX skills. Nothing special needs to be done. Now as for the special Skill Fusion buffs (like the one for +1500 Attack), those are separate skills that should be located on your Skill Tree to buy. I don't remember exactly where though.
I'm very confused because a bunch of guides have said I need to trigger a quest with Argo to get any further and I'm not sure if this is the same quest or not.
For skill fusion? Yes for skill fusion is a must late game if your trying to solo the game like me then ofc you want to speed run the game as quickly as possible to get to the dlc< areas to loop spawn monster form evens by resetting the exp you get after every kill but never complete it just event spawn to kill a hord kill only 5 out of 8 spawn a even like this keep the kill chain going you could level up form 100-150 in 5hours x.x also you can go to aincrad ((stalvato ruins)) unlock engrams &< tip the agro skill fusion ill trigger after 25 if not then get the engrams learn skill point ones and gold ones cause you will need it trust me i hated doing engrams :/ cause their is legit never! The elemtal i need
How far into the game area you? If you're really early, this definitely isn't the time you'd want to unlock Skill Fusion lol. Hell you realistically don't wanna go for it until you've cleared the main game and wanna start the DLC, because otherwise Skill Fusion will KILL the main game for you. I learned this the hard way, but luckily had a backup of an earlier version of my save.
Funnily I was in the same area myself, Lv120-130 (all the way from Lv1, because I waste time fighting HNMs a lot). I have this video here that's about 80+ clips of me cutting through HNMs really fast like they're butter. th-cam.com/video/S6Z0D4Q3-sg/w-d-xo.html Let's just say that, even for me who can kill HNMs that fast, Skill Fusions had me like "This is way too much power right now" lol. With Attacker Skill Fusion Lv5, I literally killed HNM: Howling Wood Wraith with just ONE Eclipse on Nightmare. It is *horrendous* overkill and you can't turn it off once you have it... Anyway I'm not sure why it won't let you leave the town. I don't remember having that happen.
I know you've said to wait till you're a high level for the Skill Fusion quests, but it's telling me the story won't progress until I get a skill fusion to level 4 o_0
Are you sure it's telling you that about the main game's story? Because the main game's story has been part of it since it's release, and Skill Fusions weren't added in until long after most people had beaten the game lol. But with the way they word stuff in this game, it could sound like it's talking about the story. Because aside from needing it for the DLC (I mean, you can _try_ without it, but it'll be a pain), Skill Fusions should be completely optional (and something most players might even miss lol).

Hmm... at what point are you in the game? Are you at Oldrobe Forest yet? What's the last thing you did story-wise, and the name of the farthest map area you've gotten to? This game's translation (and explanation in general) isn't very good, so it is most likely talking about something completely different, but having it worded really poorly lol.
"Mastery Skill" could also mean your weapon mastery or EX skill mastery. They do have their own levels that go up as you land hits with the weapon while the EX skill is equipped. I maxed ALL of mine out before actually going past the downed golem in the lake area of Rustoria, just because I'm like that. If that's it, it would explain why I never got that message lol.
@@Shin_FTW I did the Gollum by the lake earlier. I'm still very early game, like I said, the characters have just named the oddly acting NPC "Premiere." I currently have to get ingredients for an explosive, so that I can progress to the castle. It's definitely referring to the fusion skill though, as every time I speak to Argo or one of the characters who want one, it pops up with "Main story will not progress until mastery skill rank 4." When I partied up to do a skill fusion quest, it stopped nagging me. It's probably just poorly implemented (and translated) DLC dialogue, that hasn't factored in how early into the game I am. Iirc, Hollow Fragment on PS4 had similar issues, lol.
As long as you've downloaded the DLC packs, you should be able to start the skill fusions. Though I'd wait until you start them. I immediately redownloaded an older version of my save to get rid of my Attacker Skill Fusion when I got it to Lv5 because it was way too broken for the main game. I could kill HNMs on Nightmare with a single sword skill.

Well Im Late But I Think I Know The Answer You're Looking For. If Yuuki Has An Attacker Skill Fusion Of Level 4 (Completed When You Talk To Argo) Then You Can Start A New Quest To Continue. You Can Ignore The Warning Saying You Will Lose Progress Because You Have Finished Level 4. When You Check With Yuuki Via Menu You Should Have The Updated Status That's Bigger Than Last Time. Like I Said, Im Probably Really Late And You Have Figured It Out, But I Saw This As The First Comment And Went: "I Wanna Try To Help This Person, Even If Im Late" Anyway Cheers Mate! I don't really understand the whole main thing of this, and I'm pretty confused. I just finished the main story and I'm on the first DLC. I'm at about level 60 and was wondering when I should start? I think I have mastery skill level 3. This all doesn't seem clear to me yet... I use Dual Wield, and I'm doing this for the DLC part for Seven and Rain
These were made to "balance" with the DLC3 because of how strong everything is in it (giving the game DBZ-like scaling that has no balance at all). I think you should be able to get through the 2nd DLC just on level, buffs, weapons, and SS mastery alone. I'd hold off on getting these Skill Fusion buffs as long as possible, since they all contain passives that make you just broken for anything else in the game.
Hey I got the Tank and my quest is “Perform a partner Guard on a Level 100+ enemy 10 times in a 2-person party” that’s the mean it have to be a level 100 enemies?! Cause I’m level 80
Yeah they have to be Lv100+. If you wait for Spectral Treant to spawn, he's Lv110 in multiplayer Hard mode, so you can grind it that way. When I grinded Attacker Skill Fusion to Lv5, I used Howling Wood Wraith on Nightmare because he was the only one who could survive enough hits for me to deal out 150 hit combos with SSC and not kill him to fast, but I had to use the weakest swords I could find and use any buffs I could to lower my Atk lol.
Shinku no Yami I see any Special Monster in Solo cause I still haven’t beat the first area’s boss I’m just trying to do side quests but I beat a Giant Tree Monster level 95 in the first area
Yeah. Spectral Treant ranges from Lv95-96 in single player. On Hard he's either Lv110 or 115 iirc. If you fight it in multiplayer instead, you can keep doing it over and over. Though if you haven't even beaten the first boss of the main game yet, I would probably not go for the Skill Fusions. They're meant for DLC 3, which is horribly imbalanced for the game (DLC3 has enemies hundreds of times stronger than the main game), so if you get the Skill Fusions now, it could stand to ruin the main game for you. Speaking from experience, I got Attacker Skill Fusion Lv5 when I was just in the second area of the main game. I could kill HNMs quick by then, but that allowed me to literally oneshot an HNM on Nightmare, so I downloaded an older version of my save to get rid of it. It was too much power lol.
I'd strongly suggest not to do it until you start the 2nd or 3rd DLC. It makes you WAY too strong and just kills the fun of the main game. I did it early and almost immediately redownloaded an earlier version of my save to get rid of it because it sucked out all the fun. At the time I was about halfway through Oldrobe Forest story-wise.
Ah, sure. But just so you know, I haven't played this game in like 2 years. I still remember stuff, but the videos showing my skill and prowess are a thing of the past lol.

Though if you haven't even beaten the first boss of the main game yet, I would probably not go for the Skill Fusions. They're meant for DLC 3, which is horribly imbalanced for the game (DLC3 has enemies hundreds of times stronger than the main game), so if you get the Skill Fusions now, it could stand to ruin the main game for you.
Speaking from experience, I got Attacker Skill Fusion Lv5 when I was just in the second area of the main game. I could kill HNMs quick by then, but that allowed me to literally oneshot an HNM on Nightmare, so I downloaded an older version of my save to get rid of it. It was too much power lol.

I'd strongly suggest not to do it until you start the 2nd or 3rd DLC. It makes you WAY too strong and just kills the fun of the main game. I did it early and almost immediately redownloaded an earlier version of my save to get rid of it because it sucked out all the fun. At the time I was about halfway through Oldrobe Forest story-wise.
