I just wanted to share my testimony with the comment section cause it just happened and I HAVE to share it. I got laid off yesterday and I’ve been handling it well because I’m holding on to Jesus however I’m human so I have moments of sadness. I went on a 40 min walk to be in nature, talk to Jesus , and listen to Coffee with Christ and at the end of the podcast I had some time until I got home so instead of putting on music, I decided to just ask Jesus what He wanted me to know in this moment, before reaching my house, I heard Phillipians 4, got into the house opened my Bible and wow. I watched this video because I asked Jesus for clarity and when I tell you I dropped to my knees!!!!! God is so good, He has us no matter what is going on and to hold on to Him is all we ever need. If anyone ever feels like He is not with you, trust all you have to do is ask, and wait on Him. I love you Jesus thank you for this word ❤
I've had a similar experience with Jesus in my life. Our human nature sometimes prevents us from experiencing the love of God, but He already knows what we are going through, that's why he said “ Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
An experience like that brings us closer to Him.

I agree. :) He's very passionate and tells the truth with no shame or apprehension, and often--or at least in my experience, Christians like that can come off as kind of...gruff or harsh. But he just seems so kind. I mean, even if an atheist or something disagrees with him on every account, it can't be denied that he is gentle and kind man, or at least makes great effort to convey that.
To worry is one of the most common and blasphemous sins people commit against God because at the heart of our worrying is a distrust in the fact that God is sovereign. I commit this sin often and also repent of it often. This is why it's so important to stay in the word of God, to be continually reminded that God is in control. Thank you brother Piper.
Tarp ness Please re-read what I wrote, the fact that someone may have high anxiety does not excuse the fact that to doubt and worry about God's sovereign promises is still SIN because to not trust God is a characteristic of unbelief which is sin.
The Lord called Peter one of "little faith" because he began to DOUBT while walking on water which lead to him falling (Matthew 14:22-33). Peter doubted because he was afraid, does that make him any less Christian? No. You misinterpreted what I said and took it out of context, I hope I have cleared that up.

The country is full of religious manipulators and technology that can create anxiety. This is NOT God's will and He also is omniscient of these causes. Perhaps the greater sin when people are under attack is the lack of encouragement, prayer and support.

My relationship with jesus has gotten stronger. Over the past few years.
Sometimes I worry because I'm supposed to take my cross and follow Jesus. That's hard, and many times I have felt I wouldn't be able to. I have failed in so many ways, but I still keep my faith that God has plans to prosper me in some mysterious way.
At the least sign of trouble I easily slip into worry. God's word reminds me to trust in Him, every time and in all circumstances and praise Him. Peace returns.
My thoughts on anxiety is that not only does it make God look small, but also it is a thorn that smothers God's Word in our hearts and make it unfruitful. Do not be anxious is a command, just as like "do not kill".
but worry seems to be physiological. how do i command my adrenaline and cortisol to stop
@@ljp9402 look up somatic release exercises here on TH-cam. Not sure if you’ve ever heard of this but it deals with the physical aspects of anxiety and stress.
I believe ,and trust in Jesus, who else to go ,who else wil listen ,only Him,all glory to Him.
For the past year I've had physical pain from worry and am just now getting relief. It's beyond explanation except that I've taken responsibility for it and repented of my unbelief. God is good.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (December 16, Advent 3), Philippians 4:4-7 was our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day.
I've been home waiting on the pandemic to settle, but it seems were in for this longer season, so money became a issue and started panic and wonder should I go out and take any work out there, so I laid down that night thinking what should I do, and just like a whisper in my ear this scripture woke me. Be anxious f or nothing over and over until I read the the 1st to the 7th. I got my answer!🙈🙉🙊🤜🤛 I hear you Lord!

I, Annelies Bakker, agree with Philippians 4:6-7, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 for my life from now on and all days to come, binding one to desire one's heart and mind to be guarded by Christ in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ while binding to hell desiring anxiety and worry and binding to hell every lack of desiring peace of heart and mind in Christ, binding to hell every unequal yoke and common share with those lacking desire for one's minds and hearts to be guarded by Christ, those trying to steal my peace and those carrying or causing a spirit of anxiety and worry, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ: amen!

For many, the problem of faith is not "can He do it?" but "will He do it?".
That is where some of these anxiety stems from.
Matthew 27:46 even Jesus Christ felt the Father had left Him alone to bare the cross and cried out loud " why have You forsaken me?"
The good thing is now, He can relate to my pain...because He knows how it feels to think "God has left me to figure this out on my own".
Jesus Christ can relate to my pain.
Jeremiah 8:21 God feels my hurt.

Worry, and anxiety, casts a bad picture on the almighty God, our Father. Those words reached really in me.
What joy! What a powerful God we have, that small thoughts of axienty would imply that there is anything at all that God could not do.
I cant not to worry.So many bad things happened in my life,from people trying to kill me,to being stabbed,to living on the streets for 6 years.For having heroin addict parents,no food,no electricity,no clothes...

You were saved from death of horrible situations because your purpose in this life is not finished yet. You are a very strong willed unique person. Your testimony of surviving against all odds is living proof that you can do anything thru God. God is still in the miracle making business. Keep your faith in the Lord. I need your thoughts and insights on a problem I've had since the day I was saved and set free from all addictions. I worry about my salvation, which in turn makes me try to constantly please God with works. It gets so tiring that some days I don't even want to hear the about the Gosple. Please help.

customjrod Your works don't please God, unless they are works that come out of faith. Your current motive shows your lack of understanding of what God wants. If you're not wanting to hear the Gospel, you're not saved. Those are God's Words.
Being saved is not going to church, being baptized, then being nice. It's hearing and accepting of Christ, trusting and believe in Him that God rose from the dead, our Lord and Savior, God's precious only begotten son, Jesus Christ. That is only half of faith, the other being the behaviors that come out of that faith being works for God to other people, showing love to all, even enemies, so that you are a witness of Him who saved you and that you trust him to forgive you when you slip and sin, KNOWING He is just.
You need to start by praying and telling God you accept the Gospel of Christ and asking Him to guide you on His path. Then, STUDY the Bible daily, praying for knowledge and understanding while searching His Truth.
Being baptized in water and joining a church isn't salvation, brother.

I feel a call to ministry, but at some points in my life I cling to my old sinful habits. I don't do it as often as before (I did it everyday) now it's much less. But if I'm called, can I get disqualified if I sin sometimes? I'm single and never been married..
If you teach others to be free from sin, u must also be free from sin. The bible says that the teachers get judged more strictly because they the ones who can either lead people to false truth or Gods truth (death or salvation). How can you teach people when you are too selfishly attached to your sin? This does not mean we dont serve people, but we should consider our lives to be an example of what a christian of God should be. 1 sin is all it takes to break the whole law, thats why we have Jesus because he gave us the gift of repentance and power to help us be free from sin if we choose him to be the top love of our lives

What Bible do you use. When I ask this I mean what type of Bible. MSG,NLT,KJV,NIV? I want to chose one Bible and stick to it. I also want the closest Bible to the original if that possible without learning Hebrew.
I recommend the KJV - it's a very faithful translation, doctrinally sound, beautiful in its poetry, and to the extent it's a bit foreign sounding in its composition (thine, wherefore) it forces me to slow down when reading to comprehend nuanced phrases or turn the words over in my head to give room to hear God's message for me. If the form/verbiage is a roadblock to you I think the ESV is good and easier on the ears. Please do not rely on the new living or message translations for your meat and bread. You can find plenty of thoughtful criticisms of them (and probably for any translation). While I know some people I believe to be faithful disciples who don't find a problem with those last two, it's always after a deep grounding in a faithful translation, plenty of study to solidify their foundation, and only then as a secondary or tertiary paraphrase rather than relied on for a direct reference. I don't think those translations should be called Bibles. I can paraphrase a verse to explain it one way or when I don't have it memorized, but I wouldn't call my paraphrase scripture. May God grant you to be strengthened with power through His spirit in your inner being. Soli Deo gloria!
Sydni Demers Closest English versions to original would be NASB or ESV. HCSB is also a quality translation that has more readability. Remember that Greek and Hebrew are simply different languages. When one translates a language, it is possible to "literally" translate it-and have the meaning entirely lost in translation. Important to balance getting the right words and getting the right meaning.

You cannot obtain salvation without God’s work, BUT God only works in those who are working out their own salvation with fear and trembling. If you do not do your part, God will not take part in you. IF God is working in you, there will be PROOF with FRUITS of RIGHTEOUSNESS. Lord Jesus Christ will tell workers of iniquity to depart from Him.
“…he [God] which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ…that ye may be sincere and without offence…Being filled with the FRUITS of RIGHTEOUSNESS…” (Philippians 1:6, 10-11)
