didnt meant to ruin the mood but one of the other reason they're kind of awkward might be because of heechul is a close friend of joongi's ex. well cant blame him either he is close to everybody

Just watching this now. Who was joongi's ex? Never heard of his dating rumors before.
Pls stop spreading false rumors and verify facts first. Joon gi was talking about how it was hard to get close to Heechul at first when they first met back in 2015 during their common friend's (a.k.a. rapper Mithra Jin's) wedding. JG wanted to talk to Heechul a little more and become friends (because you know, they were in that awkward situation where you're meeting a friend of a friend but the two of you are not friends), but Heechul was busy running around and talking to other guests as he is a social butterfly and knows a lot of people. Meanwhile, the issue and break up with JG's ex happened in 2017. Therefore what you're saying is completely unrelated and false and is just going to start rumors and issues.
LJG would've felt a bit awkward because HC mentioned him without any honorifics even though they weren't really acquainted at that time. In Korea you are supposed to stick an honorific (usually -ssi, -gun/-yang or -nim depending on age) behind a person's name especially if you don't know them that well. HC said "Lee Joon Gi from The King and the Clown"....which could be misconstrued as rude if LJG hadn't brought it up in a humorous way and mentioned that HC was a little tipsy.
If you watch the whole episode, HC calls him "hyung" the whole time even though he doesn't really need to on this show.😂

JG was asked about HC and he said they met a lot while drinking. they met at mithra jin's wedding and JG thought it was kinda difficult to get close to HC bec he was all friendly with the other guests but he did not greet him (like acknowledge him in a friendly manner like others) JG was born 82 mithra jin was early 83 (hence still chingu with JG) while HC is also 83. so they were awkward when the 3 were together maybe because they dont know if they (JG&HC) should treat each other as chingu or hyung-dongsaeng with that 1 yr age difference.
PS: sorry if there is any inaccuracy. this was based on my personal understanding only
That's what I understand too. And Heechul eventually drop the speech formalities during drinking which confused JG and he jokingly said he's practicing for Knowing Brothers that time ㅋㅋㅋ

It's not that he wasn't friendly with Joongki but more like because Heechul knows so many people. He's being friendly with everyone and Joongki couldn't get close to Heechul on a personal level. - That's the vibe I got from that.
