I’m not sure if you figured it out by now. But you can put all seats down in the back . If you open your trunk, there is a handle you pull to drop your back seats down. Like the vid by the way
Thank you! And yes, literally posted the video, went out to the car, put something in the trunk and thought...you idiot...lol! Mad an update video right away and updated the description. Thank you for the nice comment my friend! Greatly appreciated!
Had one for a year now with 11k on it, 2.0L and this is a pretty good list. For me, eco mode on the highway gets about 42-45mpg. Love the way it handles the steering is excellent and the wheel feels good in your hands. Easy to change oil on it too for DIY’rs. Biggest complaints are also the idle-stop you mentioned, and the sluggishness starting from a stop. When you are already rolling the engine likes to rev up and go but that delay on the throttle from a dig is a little annoying. But hey, it’s not a race car and def quick enough for everyday. Overall, I think it’s a very good car.
I just bought the 22 sport in same blue color and man does she get compliments!!!! I got the 1.5 L turbocharged variant with 180 hp and I honestly couldn't be happier. She takes off when I put down the throttle and just cruises along saving fuel on daily basis. Best decision ever.
Got got a 2022 civic white sport with the black wheels.. traded in my 2019 golf R .. that a got new .. needed to save some money right now.. I have to say this new civic is. Fun car to drive! I’m down over 230 hp lol.. but it’s still amazing fun to drive.. and great steering!
LOL you scared the crap out of me. I could’ve sworn before I bought mine that they lay down just like my 2012 Civic. Before I even saw this pinned comment, I ran downstairs to the garage just to make sure that pull lever was in the trunk. Thank God! I’m already getting crappy mpg with it, I was about to go park it in the dealership and wait till they opened up in the morning to return it LOL. Glad you found it!
I know what you’re referring to with the lane correction, a couple of times now I’ve had it yank me back over, literally grabbed the wheel from me and pulled me back into the right lane when I attempted a lane change sans the blinker (empty road, no one around). I’m not sure what it was, but literally on the way home from the dealership, it was raining pretty decently and I was shocked that twice I began to briefly hydroplane on a very minuet amount of water and I can’t tell you which system it was, but the steering wheel spazzed out and locked up as the tires were trying to regain traction. So I’m not sure if that was an issue with the tires - which shocked me bc they’re brand spanking new and it was just a light rain, or if it was the lane-departure feature - or the two together, but it freaked me out. I’ll have to see how it acts next time there’s rain. I have a love/hate situation with it at this point, though I want to love it - I really do!
@@cantthinkofone6995 I haven't had an issue in the rain. I turned what I could off. I recommend as least turning that off! Mpg gets better I'm hearing after first 1500 miles. I hope it does, I'm only at 729...lol!

The back seat only folds down in one piece, instead of 60/40 on the EX and Touring. The back seat area as the previous generation Sport Sedan has no map pockets behind both seats, no rear center armrest, and as expected, no vents, or power outlets at the rear of the center console. But you get all the sport appearance and suspension handling goodies without all the extra stuff like sunbroof, power seat adjustments, memory seats, that are extra cost and you can do without, and such that on a less reliable brand, more potential for problems and extra repair expense. You can make it even more sporty looking with the sport appearance package. Unlike the previous generation Sport Sedan, this has full LED headlights, but no foglights. I prefer this N/A 2.0L engine for more reluabiliry albeit 20 less HP, but now want the Bose Stereo, wireless charging, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, leather seats, and everything that comes with it in the Touring Sedan. I guess if I wanted to save the $5K, I could go withbthe sport and hop up the stereo speakers and amps with Rockford Fosgate, JBL or Sony Mobike ES, but now I want the Sport Touring Hatchback, that may have and even more performance oriented suspension, front fascia, dual exhaust, and the extra cargo utility. Also, the option of the 6 speed manual. I wonder if you can program the idle start/stop function to stay off without having to disable it each time on start up. Other than that, I like both Sport/Touring Sedan and Sport Touring Hatchback. I like the smoother, toned down styling and appearance. Other that what was mentioned, not much other to complain about. The Type R with continue with the performance, but not the best practicality and comfort as the Si for everyday driving performance if the would put the Bose Stereo, and maybe the wireless charging and smartphone integration, that would be awesome, but IMHO, the Si should be available in both Sedan and Hatchback, with the latter with the leatger seats and everything in the Sport Touring Hatchback, and have the detuned 2.0L Turbo engine from the Accord Sport/Touring Sedan. That with give more power and reliability fitting of an updated upgrade to the Si over the previous 1.5L turbo.
Thank you for the comment Jacob, I had to read it twice...lol! I wish you could program the idle control. Maybe Ktuner or Hondata will come out with that someday if they haven't already. I didn't have it in my 17 Sport Touring but I never saw an option in Ktuner to turn it off. I'll be honest, The Type R seats are heaven in my opinion. Actually extremely comfortable!
@@717PROJECT My friend has lots of cars, includingba Type R he races and crashed a ehike bsck, but I believe it was fixed and heavily modded. Someone with a new Civic Sport Sedan got a nice strut tower brace snd did a muffler delete retaining the stock exhaust pipe. It soubds realky ice, but notvsure if it affects the engine recalibration The drivetrainsvare badically a carryover with may some recalibratiin tweaks. The increased HP on the 1.5 turbo is probsbly becausevof a kess restrictive exhaust like the previous Sport Hatchbacks had. The Si seats are supposed to be more confirtabke fir everyday driving, but the Type R seats are more bolstered for agressive driving on the the track, and wherever. IMHO, the Sport Touring Hatchback should have the 200 HP 1.5L turbo from the Si, and the new Si should have the detuned Type R 2.0L Turbo from the Accord Sport/Touring... that would be really good.
@@jjacob25101 unfortunately, my state it's illegal for a muffler delete 😪. The Type R seats are great for my back. Forces me to sit up more and not lay back in the seat like I'm 20yrs old.
@@jjacob25101 I think mods will come in the winter months for the Type R. Not planning on driving it then anyway. Hopefully but I doubt, parts will be in so I'm not waiting a year or two for them. I've been waiting over a month for the intake. Supposed to ship Friday, 🤞🤞🤞
Your #1 is my #1. I HATE that I have to press that button every time I get in the car if I don't want it to die at every stop sign or intersection. But I really love my new Civic. I also got the blue. 😍
I'm surprised you didn't mention these. Pro Remote Start - This was the main reason I didn't do the touring. Didn't care about the sunroof or the heated seats, when I could remote start and get in the car and it be the perfect temperature when the auto climate control is enabled. Cons Small glove box Steering wheel controls can't pause music or end calls (You can click the radio knob in to pause, but it's not convenient) Android auto defaults to Google Maps instead of your music application (Unless you use Bluetooth) The idle stop is the biggest con and it drives me nuts. Was thinking about setting up an Arduino Nano to trigger the button press on ignition. From what I could tell it saved about 2mpg on average, but they advertised it as keeping the car cold. Even with the auto climate control turned on, it gets hot fast, and it takes too long for it to recognize the temperature change. I feel the issue is, when it turns off, the fan stops blowing even though there is residual cold left in the vents.
Hi. I bought a 2022 white Civic Sport on 6/16. I have almost 1000 miles on it. I just love to go for a drive. I drive it in normal mode and get 33.4 miles per gallon. This is my first Honda. I drove a 2012 Ford Focus SEL before this. I am located outside Wildwood, NJ. I agree with what you have said about the car. The back seat does fold down. There's a lever in the trunk.
I once rented a 2012 Focus, and was very happy to return it after one week. The transmission's poor "logic" combined with screaming powertrain noise in the mountains was quite unpleasant.
Brian, thank you for the comment sir! I love going for drives too! This car is such a smooth ride compared to my 17 Sport Touring. Not that the 17 was bad but this one just glides across the road better, if you know what I mean! MPG has gotten a lot better now at 2k miles. Hope yours is getting better as well!
semi interested in the touring...how is the bluetooth call quality on the other end of the call? I have an '18 touring & like everything about it except the people that I am calling say it sounds like I am in a crowded room or like I am underwater.
Thank u for this video, i just bought this same 2022 Honda Civic sport but in sliver and this video was informative for me, I’m leaving more about Hondas now i switched from Nissan and I’m loving it, gonna subscribe to this channel
Picking up exact same car tomorrow. I had a choice of black or blue and picked the blue. I love the black contrast with the blue. I'm a 36 year Toyota guy, but couldn't wait any longer for a Corolla as I had a huge offer from Carvana for my CH-R that would expired in a week. Excited to drive Honda for a change of pace. I paid full sticker, but most dealers around here are charging way over sticker, besides with the outrageous money Carvana paid me it's more than worth it to get this car. The low finance rate from Honda was great too. Thanks for the informative video!
Patrick, you made a fantastic choice if I do say so myself! Car market is insane right now. Glad you were able to make out on the deal! Appreciate the comment my friend 🙏
I live in Canada and my #1 thing I don't like on my 2022 civic sport is the windshield defrost in the winter. You have to have it cranked for at least 15 minutes and it leaves blind spots in the upper left and right corners that don't defrost. The heater for colder environments is very underwhelming. The #2 thing I dislike is the quality of the stereo. It's terrible, why would they put the rear speaker on the doors? You can't hear them at all , they should have put them on the back by the rear window.
I have a Sonic Grey Sport, got it about 2 weeks ago. Already put about 900 miles on it. I love it. I’ve been babying it but I’ve noticed the more the miles rack up seems like the engine is opening up. Definitely feels peppier than it did in the beginning.
Yep, seems like there is a break in period, which I don't really remember having in my other Hondas, other than my R. Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!
I have had mine about a week and its great! I did want to say what I've noticed with the speed limit signs is that it picks up all kinds of signs, like school zone speed limits even when its not flashing and I've even had it pick up a curve speed limit sign that I passed, not even going around the curve.
Just got the same exact car and color ! I agree with how annoying it is to turn off the idle feature every time I get in , the only complaints I have is that they diddnt make any standard shift versions this year or any coupes. As a life long 5-6 speed daily driver the pattle shifters just will never be the same as having a clutch and shifter, I do like how you can use the paddles in normal mode tho. But I’m surprised you diddnt mention how little the glove box is hahahah everyone keeps telling me mine looks like a bmw
Now that you mention it the glove box is pretty small..lol! I don't think there will be a couple, think that's the Integra, could be wrong tho! Thank you for the comment Jamie!
Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't have the 1.5t engine. Although, I haven't heard much about it on the 11th gen. Did hear a good bit about it on the 10th gen tho. I had one but never had the issue.
Waiting for the hatchback I ordered to arrive. I hope I love driving it as much as I love looking at it. Just wish it wasn’t so expensive. Would’ve saved $5G if went for Mazda3 hatch or the Corolla hatch. But I’m hoping I made the right call
Don’t really use the volume knob. I prefer the volume control on the steering wheel, it’s already right there next to your fingertips. You don’t have to take your hands off the wheel, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road - win win!
I agree I have a 2021 CR-V, idle stop feature is horrible, its just one extra step to shut it off every time. Lane keep assist ping pongs between lanes, no 360 camera for their top trim?
Bought mine 2 weeks ago. 2000 miles later couldn’t be happier. I hate auto lane control, about got into an accident from it. The A/C on mine is making noises already and I have noticed that the gloss interior pieces are VERY CHEAP and scratched the first time I wiped them down.

Happy I bought a Honda. The most lowkeycar ever that has the pulling power to keep up with most cars on the highway. Honda super underrated I feel their engineering depart does deserve a round of applause creating a fun car to drive everyday with still keeping the practicality of a everyday car. If your on the fence get a Honda if it's your style. I know some people like a little more flash and I can understand but these are premium made cars happy with my accord sport defiantly a fun car to drive. Hope Honda does a more luxury type R version of the Accord I understand the 2.0 T is a monster once it's tuned but would be cool if they offered a version off the lot.
Honda makes a great product all around, even there lawn mowers. There reliability is second to none. It does feel like they took a less aggressive look on this Gen, but the style does grow on you. I'm glad to have both the 11th and 10th, best of both! Thank you for your comment!
Crazy you mention the A/C thing. My ‘16 has always had issues with the A/C staying cold. Supposedly I got it fixed but still randomly stops blowing out cold air. Fck it, I’m on the last leg of this 10th gen. Up next is this lovely beaut you just showed off in the video.

@@717PROJECT Mazda's have always been reliable, especially recent ones. They've won most reliable brand two years in a row, while Honda actually fell a little bit. They also don't use CVT's. I switched from Honda to Mazda.
I purchased a 2020 EX and while I do like the 2022 more for the refinements, I don’t like that the EX trim on the 2022 civic had some features taken off that the 2020 and 2021 ex had. In order for me to get them I will have to go up to the touring. But away from that I am starting to like Honda where I never thought to take a look.
After having it for a while now, it still kind of feels like a smaller version of the accord. I have no problem with that! Thank you for the comment Steve 🙏
As a 10th gen 2018 Civic EX-T owner with 88,600 trouble-free miles, all I can say is that I won’t be trading it in for this 11th gen. Why? 1. Smaller trunk space. 2. Smaller glove compartment. 3. One less USB port for a total of one USB. 4. No more extra large cup holder in the arm rest. 5. No side view (blind spot) camera. 6. If you like having a dash mounted or vent clipped smartphone holder, you’re out of luck. The new infotainment system blocks any dash mounted camera setup and there are no vents for clip on mounts. 7. Performance is reduced even with slightly higher horsepower on the EX models. All that taken away for slightly more legroom and a generic vanilla, “Accord light” exterior design for about a grand more.
All is correct my friend! The one on this list that I do miss the most is the blind spot camera! Even on my Type R! I still find myself looking at the screen when I change lanes...lol! Thank you for the comment txmoney, greatly apprectiated.
@@717PROJECT Yes! That blind spot camera has saved me more than a few times...especially from fast moving vehicles from the far right moving into the middle lane where I’m turning into from the passing lane. Also, I fail to mention that all that electronic “Honda Sensing” tech will fail long before any mechanical issues occur. For as reliable as Hondas are, the electronic modules and wires aren’t in ANY car. And it’ll cost a lot to repair/replace. I made sure to order my Civic without any off the Honda Sensing prior to purchase...and saved a lot of money. Anyway, good luck with your new Civic. Perhaps you can give an update before you trade it in or sell it.
@@txmoney It has saved me multiple times as well! I could do without all the electronics too. More things to break. I'm not looking forward to the electric age we are starting to get in to. Thank you again!

In eco and in normal I get 22 miles per gallon, they said I would get 32. My seats do pull down. But I paid 30k for his car, it's ok I guess but I got it for gas mileage and I am not getting that. Kind of disappointed. It's cool u can role the windows down from your key fob though.
Hey Jasmine! Appreciate the comment. There is a trunk button on the driver's door and on the fob. That's unusual that it doesn't open from the button. I would take it back to Honda and have them check it out. Gas mileage will get better the more miles you put on it. There are people getting over 40 on the highway I have seen. I'm getting 30+ and I have an intake on it which uses more gas and I drive fast...lol! Thank you again for the comment 🙏
Did you ever notice any squeaking rattles from the Center storage area under the climate control? It’s almost like there’s a screw loose inside or something. Very hard to explain all I can say is putting pressure on that area with my hand seems to stop the noise, significantly reduce it.
I dont know if this happens to people but on mornings my front windshield is foggy and it seams as if the fog sticks to it that de frost does nothing but makes it worse and sometimes driving it clears up then comes back. That's my biggest issue with my sport other than that along with your list I love this car. If anyone experienced my strange issue let me know.

When you come to a stop, it puts your car into accessory mode. When you touch the gas it turns back on. I know it's there to save fuel but....! Thank you for the comment Jack, greatly appreciated!
The complaint about the mpg in sport mode is straight out ridiculous. Sport mode in this car (I have my touring at 4700 miles now) keeps a consistent RPM of about 3k or so which gives instant torque. That instant response isn't free my friend. Most sport modes will act similarly.
I don't disagree with you, mpg gets much better. My 17 Sport touring didn't have this issue from the gate. But I also went on 2k mile road trip when I first got it. Thanks for your comment!
I have the 1.5L accord lx and average 40mpg per TANK driving 70% highway. I’ve hit 50mpg on a few drives hypermiling. I’d imagine the 1.5L Civic would average closer to 45 per tank doing 70% highway, depending on how you drive.
With my 10th gen sport touring the best I hit was 48mpg on the highway 73mph cruise control the entire time. Hoping this one can get close to that. Thank you for the comment Matt!

Amazing work Sir 💯💯🙏🏼V2
Really appreciate the kind words, Alan! Thank you, means a lot!
That color is stunning
It really is!!!
The grey one is too forgot the exact color name tho
This is what i was looking for. A real world, day to day review. Thanks man
Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate it!
That blue paint really pops.
It really does. Best color for the 11th gen in my opinion.
It soubds realky ice, but notvsure if it affects the engine recalibration
The drivetrainsvare badically a carryover with may some recalibratiin tweaks.
@@717PROJECT The Sport is fine as is. The Type R has nice, but aftermarket exhaust, ike the Borla one with carbon giber or other tips but so expensive.
I'm guessing Honda will get that fixed pretty quick.
I'd hope so! We'll see when the 23 comes out! Appreciate the comment my friend 🙏 Thank you!
I'm surprised you didn't mention these.
Pro
Remote Start - This was the main reason I didn't do the touring. Didn't care about the sunroof or the heated seats, when I could remote start and get in the car and it be the perfect temperature when the auto climate control is enabled.
Cons
Small glove box
Steering wheel controls can't pause music or end calls (You can click the radio knob in to pause, but it's not convenient)
Android auto defaults to Google Maps instead of your music application (Unless you use Bluetooth)
The idle stop is the biggest con and it drives me nuts.
I just traded in my 2014 focus for a 2022 Civic sport in black. SO much happier.
@@pjserletic1696 Me too. 😀
I like my blue 22 hatchback, with very sporty, handling and great brakes
Very nice!
Why would you leave it in sport mode? It keeps it in high revs, so yes, it's going to consume more gas since it's keeping the revs higher.
I leave it in sport when I'm around town. Usually forget to change it when I hit the highway. Thanks for your comment.
@@717PROJECT That makes sense as to why you had poor MPG's. Sport around town is a waste and gas killer!
@@717PROJECT I recommend driving it in regular mode (not sport) and then using the paddle shifters if you need more power/revs.
If it’s like my new VENZA, SPORT MODE gives better AC.
But the new Venza’s hybrid

Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate it! Welcome to the Honda family!
I have a 22 civic sport as well and I believe the only way to prop the back seats down is through the trunk.
Yes sir!
Looks much better then the older model and even the new hatch imo.
The look definitely grows on you. I didn't like the way the 10th gen looked when it first came out. Thank you for your comment!
Don't have the defrost issue but agree on the stereo.
I currently drive a 2021 Toyota 4Runner and want a 2nd ride. Do you think the Civic Sport Hatchback is a better buy than the new Integra?
Depends on what your looking for. Integra has a lot more bells and whistles but is more expensive. The Civic Sport is plenty for what I need.
How much did you pay for out of the door? If you don’t mind.
Thank you..
I have had mine about a week and its great! I did want to say what I've noticed with the speed limit signs is that it picks up all kinds of signs, like school zone speed limits even when its not flashing and I've even had it pick up a curve speed limit sign that I passed, not even going around the curve.
Thank you for the comment, Ashley! I haven't noticed that yet. I'll have to keep my eye out next time!
How much did you pay for the car out of the door if you don’t mind?

Nice job. Thoughts on the oil dilution issue with the 1.5 turbo?
Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't have the 1.5t engine. Although, I haven't heard much about it on the 11th gen. Did hear a good bit about it on the 10th gen tho. I had one but never had the issue.

Don’t really use the volume knob. I prefer the volume control on the steering wheel, it’s already right there next to your fingertips. You don’t have to take your hands off the wheel, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road - win win!
I'm old fashion I guess. Don't get me wrong, I use the volume on the steering wheel most of the time as well. Thank you for the comment!
Volume knot is much quicker to adjust volume.
I agree I have a 2021 CR-V, idle stop feature is horrible, its just one extra step to shut it off every time. Lane keep assist ping pongs between lanes, no 360 camera for their top trim?
You think it would have the 360. Personally, I'm cool with less electronics, more things to go wrong!

I hope you are enjoying your new car. Where is the temperature gauge in this vehicle? All I see is the fuel but no temperature gauge. Thx
No temp gauge my friend. Just a cold(blue) & hot(red) symbols.
@@717PROJECT
Yes!

I just bought one a month ago , home Civic sport hatchback 2022 . I cannot seem to open my trunk with the trunk button, how do you do that? Kind of disappointed. It's cool u can role the windows down from your key fob though.
Hey Jasmine! Appreciate the comment. There is a trunk button on the driver's door and on the fob. That's unusual that it doesn't open from the button. I would take it back to Honda and have them check it out. Gas mileage will get better the more miles you put on it. There are people getting over 40 on the highway I have seen. I'm getting 30+ and I have an intake on it which uses more gas and I drive fast...lol! Thank you again for the comment 🙏

What does idle stop enable/disable do? This car is on the top of my list for now.
Hopefully they fixed the rust problems
I hope so too
I just saw your comment about the seat handle. I told my wife to take the civic off the list because the rear seats didn't fold down.
I was blind and completely missed it. Did you put it back on the list? I hope so!
@@717PROJECT for sure, I have owned an 81,89,2001,2009 civic. My daughter bought a 2019 EX last year. I`ll be checking those back seats though...lol
My 2022 civic
Sport seats go down,
Open the trunk and you’ll see the levers
Yep
I have the exact same color. Have you tried the front defrost button? It’s awesome.
The color is fantastic. Haven't had to use the defrost yet. Sure will in a couple months tho! Thank you for the comment!
@@717PROJECT i have gotten to 50 something mpg on my way home from work
@@demetriwalker3230 that's incredible!
Hi I like the Civic but at this time came completely different on 2022 no fog light, no phone on steering wheel, no right camera signal, it's completely different on has a sunroof I just got one civic ex I like the other version 2019
Alan, it is a different civic for sure. I'm not sure if the Touring has the phone option on the steering wheel or not. I know they come with Sunroofs. I definitely miss the blind spot camera on the passenger mirror. I still look at the screen sometimes...lol! Appreciate the comment 🙏 Thank you!
Hahaha, you shouldn't expect good fuel economy driving in sport mode, are you nuts? You're doing 73 mph and the engine is at 3500 rpm, no engine is fuel efficient at 3500 rpm.
Not true, Ive had many cars efficient at 3500rpm
It has gotten a lot better after putting some miles on her. I know, it is a pointless complaint. That just goes to show how good the car is. Thanks for the comment Eduardo, much appreciated sir!
@@717PROJECT ur welcome...
@@717PROJECT So true... I've had cars and motorcycles both that started out with 'so-so' mileage... but then after 500-600 miles, all those engine parts get comfortable and happy with each other and the mileage always jumps up! Thanks for the video!
It is 55 mph. Bc it has a camera that watches rd. If you see 55 instead of 65, they must have changed the posted signs. It doesn’t use gps or anything to provide that data. It’s an actual camera. Camera isn’t wrong.
Thank you for letting me know. I figures it was GPS monitoring.
@@717PROJECT no it’s not. There’s a camera mounted by the mirror. Accord has it too. Part of the Honda safety feature. How do you think it keep you in lane for lane keeping assist? The camera.
@@TheUnicornblood i turn lane assist off. Through me across the lane a couple times, don't like it. Maybe camera need recalibrated.
Great video! Looked at this civic and decided to get a 2021 Accord 2.0t sport. This generation of civic is under powered, let’s in a lot of road noise, and has the most numb styling possible in 2021. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for an Accord with the 2.0 turbo engine.
I grabbed a Type R! I'll use the Sport for the winter wants the salt hits the road.
Accord 2.0T is a BEAST. Faster than many German cars worth thousands more. But the cost is up there. Type R has the same engine right?
@@ashrafc7794 yes they have the same engines just different different tunes by Honda.
I am aware that you already know but there is a pull handle in the trunk to release the seats :P
🤣
I was thinking about this car and trim level but eventually went with the 2022 Hyundai Elantra limited. Had all Honda’s before the Elantra. It was the tech and price point that sold me.
Hyundai have improved for sure. Resale value on the other hand.., that's why i go with Honda. Thank you for the comment, hope you enjoy the elantra!
Great video !
Thank you so much, greatly appreciated!!!!
