woohoo! The first van life vlog is out!💥We tried a different editing style in this video to try and capture a more 'raw' feel so it felt more like you were with us on the adventure. So, we'd love to know what you thought of it? Or, if you have any other suggestions of how we could improve, we'd really appreciate it as we value your opinion a lot! 🫶
What a great little video. It looks liked you had a great trip too, very envious. Monsal Trail looked fantastic. Thank you for the upload, looking forward to the next... :)
Enjoyable video. You're a lovely couple. I've cycled on monsal trail numerous times. Plus high peak trail & Tissington trail. But monsal is my favourite. It's a beautiful area. Had a caravan in Biggin nr Hartington for 13yrs on a seasonal pitch. I'm 78 But 2yrs ago my wife sadly passed away & I've now got a Campervan. Enjoying go all over UK now.
Thank you. It’s so beautiful around this area with so much to do, sorry to hear about your wife. So happy to hear you’re still exploring in a campervan though, it’s the best way to travel 🚐
Fantastic video guys!! I went to Bakewell last year, fantastic scenery on the way there and loved Bakewell as a place. You going to some top adventures in that van. Catch you soon …. Smithy
Thanks for the advice, I didn't show it on camera you may have seen the pump at some point. I tried pumping it up, In the process I broke our pump 😅😅 filled it up when we got home working all good now! Cheers
Awesome vlog guys 👍 the van looks great, what a fantastic job. What a credit to you both, all the hard work has been worth it. Now it’s time to hit the road and enjoy ❤️😎
Reckon an easy fix for shower is a couple more fix point on ceiling to ensure curtain won't fall down and then sew some magnets into bottom of the curtain - that way you can stick it to the metal on the floor. If it won't stick you could glue some magnets onto it so you can then snap another magnet on top. Van looks ace. Lots of inspiration for our own build when it happens!
I had the same issue with a similar pimp and I removed the in line filter and it worked perfect. Also I changed those cheap wingnut style fittings.. they leak
U guys are a fun bunch to watch..I enjoyed every minute of your video.. Only just stumbled on your page.. So I’ve made sure I subscribed.. Keep up the good work!!👍😁🎈👏👏💖
Tip for shower curtain, use magnets on bottom of curtain to stick to your shower tray, if you wrap the magnets in electrical tape they won't mark your curtain. Might need to experiment with strength of magnets to suit . Great build btw.
"Did we nail it or fail it?" - Definitely nailed it (although the nail was a bit rusty in places 😁) Enjoy your travels again, bet you have loads of places lined up to go to.
Yes! Thank you! I’d like to say we’re organised for all the amazing places, but… we never are! We’ll go where the road takes us and take you along for the ride😂🚐
Brill guys I go around there a bit myself in my van if I see u hope u Don,t mind if I come say hello fantastic job with the van now your journeys begin Happy travels guys
I need to double check because I thought about doing that, but I was told stainless steel isn't magnetic. I will check next time I have a magnet. Thanks for the suggestion
Think we are up to speed now having watched nearly all your back catalogue of van life. Your build is absolutely stunning you should be so proud of yourselves. Its even made us look at MAN Vans for our next build . Well done ❤
I think you nailed the layout. The shower arrangement is excellent. That will be my choice as well. I saw an Australian guy that did the same. Seems to be the best choice as you don't compromise the space with a cubicle that only gets used once in a while. Well done.
Looks like an awesome first trip away in the van! And the shower set-up looks fab - what a great space saving idea 👏 looking forward to seeing where you go in it next
It was such a nice trip, can't believe that it was on our doorstep! Thank you, we no longer have to shower out the back of our van in a random car park like last time🤣
I think you are a lovely couple, I have been catching up on your travels, youre both so normal Which is great viewing, love the van build, and you make me feel I have now got some new friends. Cheers
Great vlog. We just love you two! We live in Stockport & the peak District is our walking fav. After seeing Castleton, we'll be going at the weekend. Looking forward to more of your adventures
Thanks so much for the comment! The Peak District is so so beautiful and there is so much to see that we didn't even get around to. We can't wait to go back. Have a lovely time in Castleton!
when in england do as we have always done we go miles not k we drink pints not litres sooner we get back to all imperial measures the better but i doubt we will do it all just wish we would buy fuel in gallons again as well
Well done on your van build, guys! We bought a professional build and had numerous teething problems at the beginning, so I think your build has been a huge success so far 👏
Great video! Pretty much at the same stage as me and my wife. Just got back after a 7 week test run. Our Shurflo pump did the same thing and did turn out to be a leak. Once I sorted that it still plays up every now and then getting stuck on for some reason. It's also mega loud so might change it for a whale one soon.
Congrats! Yeah we've found now that its just if some air gets in and once you run it for a few more seconds it clears, doens't happen too often, normally once we fill up. It is noisy, but not too bad for us under the sofa with the cushions as some insulation haha
Beautiful van, lovely small trip! We can’t wait to visit your part of the world next year! Quick comment, Martha…you might find your bike more comfortable if you increase your seat height just a bit. Drop in to a bike shop and they can help you with fit. Anyway, subscribed and looking forward to more adventures!
Thanks so much!! Haha, thanks for the tip, but I actually have a dropper post on the seat but I'm just an idiot and didn't use it... Clearly still getting used to this biking malarky! Thanks again!
Just a suggestion, sawing in magnets in the bottom of your shower curtain, it won't cling onto you body and keep the water in it's tray. 😊 Btw Great build 👌.. Oh yeah I did subscribed 🤪
My wife and I have recently started watching your channel and really enjoy it. I think our only problem is when you’re asking for money if people enjoy your content they will give you money through super thanks or buy me a coffee off there own back with you asking it sounds like begging. Anyway we will keep watching as you do seem to be having fun 🙂
I can see a removable decal with the jammygits logo on the van. One you can slap on and remove when you want to be super stealth but be able to find the van in a sea of white ones.
We did think about putting decals on there, but like the idea of not having them more for privacy for the van, just in case we were to leave it overnight somewhere.
The water pump problem sound like the pressure on your accumulator is wrong. It's the same type of valve that on your tyres. Often if the pressure is too low it will trick the pressure regulator switch in the pump. A normal bike or car pump will add a bit more pressure. Just check online what the pressure should be for your sized pump.
Hi mate thanks for explaining! I broke our pump trying to pump it up when we were having the issues 😅 topped it up to 20psi when we got home and its worked sweet as since. Cheers!!
Please check if you value is faulty there ok or if you have a filter there ok contact the company and explain the problems you have there ok regards David
Great video guy's! seemed like the perfect shakedown trip. The shower looks way more usefull than i first thought, is it plumbed in to the grey water tank? cant wait to see what you guys get up to next 🚐🌄
Nice one, we came home with a new list of jobs thats for sure 😅😅 no we just have the shower going straight outside. If we're in a public place we will just put a bucket under the drain. 😄
@@TheJammyGits you know what, i think that list, is not as long as it could have been. i've been thinking about the pump problem, it might be you just have to place some non return valves befor the pump. but than again im a noob 😂 yeah the bucket idea is just as good if you donty use it that much.

Winnits Pass will always be funny to me! in Liverpool it's a very different meaning...

I'm sure someones already said this but sounds like you need a non-return valve after the pump as your water is falling back into it?

Fair play to you both. If you can avoid council tax, you are winning. Don't give up xx
Thank you! We've been in the bricks and mortar lifestyle before and after selling up and moving into a van we have never been happier.
The shower curtain could put magnets on the bottom of the curtains if your tray is metal ?

Marth, how long did your fog star take to arrive? Thanks
Our Fogstar took about a month as we purchased near the end of the wait list, but I have known it to be even longer.
@@TheJammyGits thanks
Our waterpump sometimes runs like that if the water is low in the tank or we are on a slope.... Sometimes it could be an airlock. It will clear.
Yes we actually experienced that last night as well, we were on too much of a slope and it started up again, thank you.
