Hey big dog Cade is an athlete he was an offensive and defensive football star, also the highest scorer on the basketball team in high school he didn't get to OSU by luck, but I really like his chances. The guy from USC is a dog, been playing football since he was 6....
I love the Lassiter pick. People want to talk speed, how about we talk hard stats. 0 TDs and 136 yards allowed all last season against SEC competition. Only other DB to do that in the past 3 years was Sauce Gardner. Lassiter also had the best 3-cone drill in the combine. He will be lockdown on the other side of Sting.
@@jamesriley872 40 yard dash speed time is the biggest scam in draft because they dont matter thats why puka was picked so late in the draft because of his combine and look at him now
@ethanturner2242 he didn't look good against 1, 5, and 6 routes. I was just wondering if he had a bum leg this year. Btw your Puka comparison is not equivalent
Henderson was the starting LT for Michigan last year? amazing to be there that late.and you can’t even really go by last year. His best years were at ASU…plus he was coming back from a hand injury…this guy was a steal for real.
Safety was the best pick. Ward prolly got 2 more years left and only got one year left in contract the new safety would definitely getting a stud safety.
I disagree, Nick Caserio is playing chess not checkers. He got what the team needed and got out the way. He and Coach were enjoying themselves because they have a plan.
No one can tell the future, just look at Bryce Young. Lots of Texans were disappointed but look who we have now, CJ! It’s all about systems and I believe DeMeco will unlock these player’s potential and we’ll look back and be happy about this draft. Just watch!
I'm telling you Texans fans will be falling in love with most of these guys in no time. They are going to contribute. Injuries are just a part of the NFL, so your next man up better be good enough. I think finally we can say they are.
I wanted him soooo bad...I was hoping Cleveland would pick Stover up late in the 3rd and also hoping we were gonna trade up somewhere in the 2nd for a Linebacker or some Tackle...but whatever I guess a fast DT and an Interior Lineman isn't horrible.
It's was a depth draft for the Texans I think. Texans were already string going into the draft so I'm not too worried. Biggest gripe is why not get Cooper Beebe instead of Fisher? I think our draft was hindered by other teams not wanting to trade with us because we are already a solid team. I grade this draft a solid C
They must be high on Green being able to come back and at least being the #3 guard. That and Juice can handle the guard spot with Patterson in the Center or vise versa. Imo the weak link is our tackle because: 1. Titus Howard is below average at best and 2.Fant left. How are people forgetting that George Fant left in FA and we didn't address that? Fant played soo many games for us and saved us. We didn't have a real #3 tackle and now we do. I like the pick and people are going to be eating these words if one of our tackles goes down or just plain sucks again (looking at you Titus).
We all know Caserio seems to get it right more times than not. I heard that CJ was big on Bullock too... looks like they cover needs hopefully they work out. We shall see
Huh wdym you mean he’s making depth backup moves. None of the drafts would’ve been expensive we didn’t even have a first and we still have 25mil in cap. Extremely mid draft we could’ve gotten day one starters.
Everyone needs to calm down, really… This was a very solid draft. We got some difference makers and potential stars. Even without coming away with one of those heavily talked about DT’s or LB’s we still came away with some of if not the best players. Bullock, Lassiter will compete for starting spots. Fisher may not start right away but pending how fast he develops and if we incur some injuries again, I feel a lot more confident in the o-line now. We didn’t really need another TE but having depth is going to help is down the line because injuries really put us in a bind last year and we still made the playoffs despite all the injuries we had. We didn’t need another WR either so they drafted on NEED and they did a great job. We WILL be one of the top teams on special teams with our additions in this draft and free agency. Jordan will push for RB2 on the depth chart. He fits the schedule perfectly. Byrd, Harris add more depth to a defensive line that was already stacked before the draft. Henderson can play dual positions on the left side on the line. Guys were in a great spot right now. I’d give this a solid A minus.
Some GMs play checkers, talented GMs play chess. Caserio is playing quantum physics space chess (I stole that from Sauce Sports) If you don't have faith in Caserio by now, i don't know what to tell you bro. Best GM this franchise has ever had
Texans needed the players they drafted. Everyone think they can b a coach r a GM. Lol If u look at the Texans roster it would b hard for any rookie to come on the team and take a position.
Keep in mind that we also "drafted" 1 year of super-hungry near-prime Stephon Diggs with our picks this year. I think that pushes into B or B+ territory for me, because while Nick didn't have but a handful of realistic trading partners out there, the few that he had he was unable to act on. For example I think the cost to move up to 41 from 42 would have been pretty low. a single 6th rounder would have likely been enough but with that pick we got a really good #2 running back so you never know! Maybe they feel Lassiter and Kool-aid are going to be effective players in their system and had them graded nearly the same. Sometimes rounds 5-7 can yield gems, so trading them all away to move up 1 spot is not always the best idea unless a player is really worth it.
Lassiter - is amazing, just has no hands and ran a slow 40. He's faster on the field. Fisher - was the hardest to digest but with online injuries can't blame them Bullcok's - a dawg, great hands needs to put on some weight Stover - was a steal, only played TE for two years could be amazing
Yeah I like it the more I poured into the players game film. We have insurance at the tackle spot. Some insurance at the guard spot if Kenyon Green can't take over the backup or starting spot. Cade is going to be the starting TE for this team in 2-3 years. He catches everything, just like Shultz and can play on special teams right away thanks to his defensive and athletic background. Loving the RB pick as he will shine in our zone blocking scheme and likely be RB2. Pierce is a power running guy without the patience needed sadly. Also the run stopping stud Marcus Harris will likely be playing a lot of 1st and 2nd down next to Autry as they shut down opposing running games with the help of Azeez just behind them. Not sexy but sufficient and that is fine because we started at 42 and near the end in every round. Kind of hard to land great players when you pick so low.
B+ in my eyes. If we do need some extra help, free agency still has some talent available. MVS, Stephen Gilmour, Tyler Boyd and a few extra player available.
He ran a 4.55 at his pro day but yeah I don't want him lining up in man next to burner unless his job is to press him right away. The good news is that Lassiter can press with the best of them.
Remember when ppl said we lost out to the jets when they got Sauce and we picked Stingley?… This is very similar. Lassiter has shutdown capability low key. He is a dog and we need players like him. Same thing with Bullock. Bullock has range and the way drives on the ball to cover ground in the passing game is unbelievable.
Imma die hard Texans fan in I gotta say we stole the free agency and draft this coming 2024 season if I can give Texans a grade I give them a A++ can I do that y'all
I could totally see Marcus Harris taking Tim Settle's snaps on downs 1 and 2. He is really freaking good at shedding blockers to make tackles in the run game. Also noticed that Denico Autry is even better at doing the same. He's gonna teach Marcus a trick or two I bet. It seems we're getting a good feel for the "type" of DT that Demeco likes. He doesn't go for huge guys up front, but instead goes for crafty, quick and long with the idea that Azeez is right behind them both to make sure the running back goes down before 3 yards. Swarm ™ is coming for a running back near you! Can't wait to see how it works vs BAL!
It was not a particularly exciting draft for the Houston Texans. At first glance, it looks like quantity over quality. We got a lot of guys who are pretty good, but not many outstanding players. I do not think there is an A pick in the bunch. To select some A players, we would have had to give up a few draft picks along the way. The choice was go stock up with players who may help in the long run. The only guys who may impact that 2024 season appear to be Lassiter, Bullock and Stover. The rest appear to be short term (and some long term) projects. The good news is that the Texans had a Grade A performance in free agency signings. So an average, at best, draft may be okay because of what the Texans did through free agency. Hopefully, all the draft picks will make the 2024 team, but that remains to be seen.
The cool thing about Cade Stover is that he started out the defense so he can at least cook on special teams until it's his time to command more playing time at TE. That will happen because the guy catches everything. I get that it's not a need right now but Brevin Jordan isn't going to a replacement at TE1. If Shultz goes down Stover can instantly step in and give you more than Jordan. I also feel the same way about Blake Fisher. One injury to either tackle (It's going to happen) and we all the sudden are in deep 💩 George Fant saved the Texans bacon last year and is now gone. Having a decent #3 tackle is huge, specially considering how poorly Titus Howard played last year, specially in the run game.
I trust The Texans scouts, coaches, and GM's process to identify players they think can help them. The only thing I find questionable is the timing on when they traded out of the first round. If they had waited until draft night they could have gotten a better deal.
This years draft seemed like they were gunning for Kool-Aid but then it just became about getting the best player on the board. I think the best thing they did was getting Bullock and Stover. It'll be interesting how they fill in the DL depth post-draft with the cap space available to them, and overall I don't think the Texans really made any significant acquisitions within the draft to address their holes. I think an area where they have improved low-key is their special teams unit...actually looking at the draft as a whole, you have players that fit the mold of the meta for the new kickoff rule.
@@MordecaiFromRegularShow huh ? The 2nd round was definitely a bad draft. We got a tackle who wasn’t even the best available and a db who wouldn’t even start.
@@HTownSwarm bro you never watched in depth football in your life😭 saying a+ draft is ridiculous and getting Travis Hunter next year? He’s not gonna fall to 25+

I find it really funny that so many people say Lassiter is too slow, but yet he only allowed 136 yards with 0 TDs in pass coverage last year in the SEC. How do you do that as a "slow" CB? John Kirby scoffs at the idea he is slow and I agree. Do people not watch these games? If you can anticipate what is going to happen before it does, you don't have to be speed demon to make plays. Sure I liked Kool-aid slightly more, but he is a pretty nice consolation pick. There's a decent chance that he's the starting nickel day one. Maybe even CB2 if Okuda or Henderson can't hold it down which is unfortunately very possible.

I give them a D. As usually they stayed put and watched the better players at the positions they needed going picks ahead of them. They really needed at top rated DT and everyone traded in front of them or drafted them before them. They went to their backup plan at CB. But they still had quality CBs going on round 3. Fisk out of Florida St, smh. Rams traded up after seeing 3 DTs go off the board in the 2nd round, just 3 picks ahead of us and took who I think will be a HOFer. I like the OT in round 2. Don't care for safety in 3. Traded up 3 picks to get him, lost a 6th rounder for him. Should have traded back and obtained valuable picks here for next year and in this draft. Had 4 other potions at safety we could have taken. Especially Hicks who went to KC in the lower 4th round(after our 4th round pick). Speaking of 4th rounders, we took CJ homeboy from Ohio St.(I think he will be good) but I was eyeing TCU TE Jared Wiley in the 4th....who went where? KC! Again, late in the round after our pick. After the 4th round we should have traded away every pick because we did nothing with them. Well, we'll see about the Mich lineman, hopeful. But we had no 5th round picks where the rest of the talent went. 39. Fisk-Rams 73. Beebe OG- Cowgirls (3rd) 84. Roman Wilson Mich WR - Pittsburgh (3rd) 165. Rasheed Ali RB - Ravens (5th round) 185. Johnny Wilson WR - Philly (6th) 210. Christian M. OG - Detroit (6th) 212. Cam Little K - Jags (6th) 217. Beaux Limmer C - Rams (6th)
Favorite pick = Cade Stover. He is the only starting caliber player even though he won't start this year. Overall grade = F. Texans are the only team that did not get a starter.
A solid c. Not sure the drafted a single starter as of week 1 barring injures. I do think must the draft picks will get a chance to compete for a starting spot though
You ppl need to stop trying to make predictions with these mock draft cuz you can't see the Texans board, you make personal decisions and you be wrong asf lmao. No one picked a tackle when we stayed hurt at that position. So stop with the fake mock drafts and end up looking stupid, and all up in your feelings and mad afterwards. Its unrealistic. I don't have individual favorite picks, I like the picks as a whole. This was a great draft to add depth.
I didn't love any of these picks.. they never shoulda traded out of the first or at the very least they shoulda moved up to pick below 40. Stupid drafting going back to last year imo
Should have moved up at 42 to get Fiske! I would have gone all in on Newton, even if it cost several picks...all pro for years to come. Instead, Caserio sat and watched as the Rams jumped us to get Fiske... Demeco said before the draft that interior dline was his priority and we whiffed and have a bunch of street free agents at DT now. Got rid of Collins and couldn't resign Rankins...huge hole in the middle.

Marcus Harris was a beast for auburn I really think he has the talent of at least a 5th round guy.
This felt more like they were drafting for the practice squad. They'll like set a record for missed tackles.
So happy at least HOU got Cade Stover and hes with Stroud. Steal for 4th round thats my favorite pick!

Lassiter also gone come down and make a hit
Cade Stover at TE
Henderson is going to take greens spot
39. Fisk-Rams
73. Beebe OG- Cowgirls (3rd)
84. Roman Wilson Mich WR - Pittsburgh (3rd)
165. Rasheed Ali RB - Ravens (5th round)
185. Johnny Wilson WR - Philly (6th)
210. Christian M. OG - Detroit (6th)
212. Cam Little K - Jags (6th)
217. Beaux Limmer C - Rams (6th)
For the record I grade cade stover an A
Really hope we don’t regret taking a corner who runs a 4.65 forty or “4.50” allegedly
I agree.
Cade was my favorite
I like the stover pick tbh
1 23rd. Xavier Worthy
Didn’t they sign 4 new cb’s tho
Happy Stroud Happy Crowd...I likes 😂
Favorite pick = Cade Stover. He is the only starting caliber player even though he won't start this year.
Overall grade = F. Texans are the only team that did not get a starter.
Lol tripping
Imaging the Texans without Fant last year...he's gone. Blake Fisher fills a big hole
B-
A solid c. Not sure the drafted a single starter as of week 1 barring injures. I do think must the draft picks will get a chance to compete for a starting spot though
Casual ahh take
@brileyisaac7838 My bad, Neon. I'm glad you are out of jail and your Texan fan. How was Dubai?
Fuck it...we can still trade for good players
I don’t think this a bad draft at all
Cade Stover, B
IT'S "THEE" OHIO STATE !!!
Tunsil sucks. We need OL help in a bad way. How about someone that can run block and lay people out instead of just getting holding penalties. 🤷🏻♂️
THIS WAS NOT A B- GRADE .. THIS WAS MORE 9F A C- GRADE .... ASIDE FROM THE SAFETY AND CADE EVERYBODY ELSE WAS A PROJECT
Lassiter is not a project. He a good player. Dude been the number one corner at Georgia shutting receivers down.
Great pick for our system
Cade Stover
Stover will only make cj better. Security blanket
Was a disappointing draft, like u said every round they missed out on elite players! They were a step behind tell the end ! 😢
I'd like them to trade tunsil. Overpaid and always making penalties.
Always hurt too but he is the best OT in the league next to Trent Willams
Caleb bullock not a good tackler is crazy turn the flim he only 180 190 but thts just rn he play way bigger than wat he is
Kamari
Do you think the Texans can win the AFC South in 2024? Then LIKE the video!
Yes
Should have moved up at 42 but NO gave up a lot to jump. I give the 59th pic a C-, but the Ohio State TE an A. B- overall.
Kool aid had injuries issues kamarri will ball here
Cade Stover. Go bucks. Better than Georgias te
The LT is needed Tunsil will retire soon
He only like 29
Not retiring
