If my memory is correct, I remember reading an interview with this band in a Cleveland weekly around the time this band started touring, and drummer Deb Agnolli said something that I think really makes sense: she said that the difference between pop and rock is that, in pop music, the guitars work with the voice, whereas in rock music the guitars work against the voice.
I'm as close as cleveland, and have never heard of this band until one of its members past. There's a pretty large underground scene here. They had a very simple sound clean, kinda like early husker-du, lemonheads.

Yeah, I never got to see them live. Larry was a really cool guy from all that talk about him. RIP
Did you notice that the drummer, Deb Agnolli, used a 2-piece drum set (just snare + bass drum), with no cymbals?
