mackintosh should always be covered with towel , Inner canthus has naso lacrimal duct which will be contaminated and infection can descend down ,so inner to outer canthus.

Also when squeezing turn the side going to touch the eye upwards so the solution from ur gloves will not contaminate the area of contact
