Hi @dongil123, I'm sorry to hear that you have been unwell so I'm glad you find the videos help you feel a lot better so whenever I catch a fish or two then I know that it will be help you in your recovery.. All the very best Davie
Awesome video, I took a break from fishing in 2023, more golf and shooting. I now realise I’m a much better fisherman than a golfer 😂 Spent my whole day watching your fishing videos. Superb commentary from a real artist. Keep them coming Davie, you are a real class act.
Firstly I love to see the comments of joy from people that can't get out fishing, you're doing a wonderful thing with these video's. Secondly I'm fully invested in you catching a salmon on video for us all, the fish of 10,000 casts, it will be a glorious day for us all!
Hi Davie, I fully appreciate these trips out flyfishing with you, I am disabled now and unable to get out of my home safely or to get out fishing regrettably these days so fully appreciate all these trips you make and post, great fishing and what a totally superbly coloured Brown to finish the day, as an artist now you couldn't it always stuns me to see such wonderful buttery colours up with so many spots, what a stunning fish. certainly entertaining viewing, Well done, and thank you
Hi Vinny, I'm glad you enjoy the videos and when I go out I will think about you and many others that can't get down to the water so it makes me feel like I am certainly not alone when I 'm walking along and fishing the streams and pools..It was a lovely brown trout and the colours were amazing so thank you for the kind words, and until next time.. All the very best Davie..
Excellent video again Davie. What a beautiful river the Doon is. Here's hoping you catch that elusive Salmon soon. Really pleased your fishing trips are helping fellow anglers unable to get out . Cracking brownie at the end. Tight lines. 👍
This is my Birthday and what a treat it’s as good as being there ,I’m only seventy two but this river is hundreds of years old and requires respect just look at the trees and hills glorious
A superb video Davie. You are doing amazing things for all of us including those that unfortunately cannot get out on the water. Keep up the great work and let’s hope we get one of those free running salmon one day !
Hi Glenn, It's great to hear you are doing well from the eye surgery and you are very welcome to come along, I'm just glad I managed to finish with a nice trot.. All the very best Davie
Hello again. I’m looking at all the really nice things that people have to say. I feel there’s not much more to add to do the love and admiration any further justice. Only, please keep doing it, and that last fish rocked!
The fourth of August was the Queen mothers birthday another famous salmon fisher it just happens to be mine as well but I was not as fortunate to spend it on the river although watching you on another of your videos and listening to you describing what you are doing more than makes up for it . Please keep up your filming and constructive instruction it’s nearly as good as being there Thank you once again
Hi Davie, yet another beautiful video. Could you please tell me what camera you use as I would love to video my beats on the Tyne, Till and Coquet to show my family. All the best Davie, looking forward to your next outing.
Hi Ronald, I'm using a Gopro 11 on a chest harness which I have attached a link to for you to see..I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the kind words.. All the very best Davie gopro.com/en/gb/shop/mounts-accessories/chesty/AGCHM-001.html
@@DavieMcPhail Thanks so much for replying Davie, I will look into that. We first met at Glasgow Angling Centre when you were giving a tying demo. You gave my young lad the fly you tied and he still has it in pride of place in his bedroom. You are one of life's gentlemen.
Could we see more salmon flies? Was on the murthly beat on the Tay this week and the ghillie was telling us to put on micro flies. Typically i didn't have any
Hi Davie. What size of salmon could the 7/8 microspey handle if you don’t mind me asking. Would it be able to handle big fish if Lady Luck was smiling on you? Thanks for the brilliant videos
Hi Davie, i was just wondering if the water flow and depth on the River Doon were steady and consistent or are there times when the flow is cut back and the water level is down? It looks great in your videos and i have often wondered about the flow and depth being consistent. Are there any seasonal flooding or drout issues there? Love your video's... Fish On
Morning David, The Doon does drop below a certain level as it's controlled by the hydro-electric company coming from Loch Doon and by law to do this. It also rises and falls with the rain like any other water as well though never below a set level like you see me fishing most of the time so drought never affects it even heat to a point as the water keeps cool coming from the loch..I'm glad you enjoyed the video.. All the very best Davie
I've not Jon, I have had my chances but it's not going well, it would be great to see some fish though as there are very few around..All the very best Davie
Hi @oscarwmcg7382, I could fish other methods if I want though I like to fish the fly but I have to be honest there's very few salmon in our waters now.. All the very best Davie
Enjoyed your trip on the Doon. The fast ripply section reminded me of parts i fish on the Derbyshire Derwent, where i get frowned on for down stream nymphing! I find it to be a most productive method, although like you lots of bumps. Do you think its harder to get a good hook hold with this method? Cheers Paul
You really need to come and fish New Zealand waters Davie. We call a 10 pounder a "nice fish". Those minnows you catch over there are hilarious! But I love everything you do and have learned so much from watching your video's mate. Cheers for all your dedication to the best sport on the planet!
Thank you Davie, having a bad time at the moment with depression, but I always love these videos your calming voice helps again thank you ❤

Great Brownie Davie, perseverance pays off.
The pool at 33:14 looks very good. Maybe a nymph and a wet weighted and closer to the slow water nearer the bottom?

The river Doon is easily one of the most beautiful rivers in Scotland...
The water color looks perfect for a phata/scierragorva 😮
What a beautifful trout...
Very unfortunate not to land at least one of the two sea trout excellent video

Hi Davie, not sure which I like best, the fly tying or your fishing videos, both are great, thanks
Thanks 👍
Just out of curiosity, do you use any other method when salmon fishing or just strictly fly fishing?
Hi @oscarwmcg7382,
I could fish other methods if I want though I like to fish the fly but I have to be honest there's very few salmon in our waters now..
