  • Knife: Bark River Cub
    Steel: cpm-3v (probably the best)
Handle scales: G10 with blue liners
A literal random encounter where we are boating and we decided to stop somewhere and have a beach fire. All we had was my Bark River Cub, my friend Bravo 1, and a large Ferro rod. We made it work in a pre built fire pit. It’s really cool that if you know how to use a knife, and you have a good quality one, what you can accomplish and how much fun you can have by just carrying one!
    Get a Cub!

    Great knife!!
Unfortunate for my wallet, I got bitten bad by the Bark River bug, and I now have 2 dozen of them, including a Cub. I seriously need to trim my collection, but the Cub won't be one of them I'll get rid of. Mine has a natural curly maple handle with mosaic pins and black liners. It's a purdy knife, but a user none the less.

It's going to be awesome. I recently got the newest cub due too the improved dimensions overall!

Awesome knife - I love mine - but slow down on the ferrocerium and use more pressure instead. 🙂

Most ferro rods come with a magnesium striker. I have never needed a knife to use a ferro rod. But anyways looks like it was a fun trip, and awesome survival type situation.
