These sound great! But it would be nice (and very useful) to hear them into something like a Katana. With these "amp in a box" type pedals, we can't hear if the pedal is giving a great amp tone, or if the great amp tone is coming from the great high end amp you're running it through. I hope that makes sense.
@@thedickens6490 Actually, you don't need to pay for the boss switch pedal. I used my old yamaha midi controller/foot pedal and an expression pedal, moog, and it works fantastic. In fact I have 9 channels and any effect control I desire. I can control more of my amp with my old pedals ( $100 worth of midi controllers that are 20 yrs old) than i could've with the Boss pedal controller. They want a pretty penny for the little pedal they sell. BTW, I have a Katana mk 2 artist and love everything about it. I bet you could find full controllers for less than 50 bucks if you don't mind used.
When demoing pedals, I would love to see them A B’d into a totally clean acoustic amp in addition to whatever amp you’d normally demo with. That way we could hear how it might be employed, but also the pure character of the pedal.
Great to see Rebea finding time to be back in the house.! Depending on style of play the JACK and the KRAKEN are tops (for me). Two talented guitarist showing off to give us representation of pedals sounds.
Damn you Andertons!!! Great to have Bea back!! Having him and Pete play anything though makes me want something!!! The could make a dead cat sound beautiful!
Whelp, that's exactly what I've been wanting.. and it came out at the perfect time.. I just got what is essentially Pete's signature cab, but in cream.. and I've just converted to a more portable rig.. and this will totally complete it.. well done guys, thanks so much
I would love to hear them combined with a terror stamp. Personally love my terror stamp for drive tones but the duchess pedal in the send return could possibly be a great portal clean option
Man like most of this is Rabea looking at Danish Pete thinking “How do you just keep getting better?!?!” They’re both great but, man Danish Pete was putting on a show today 🤟🤟
WOW, i have the Kraken V4 preamp running into an Orange Pedalbaby and want to compare it with the V1. The Duchess sounds more like an compressor. Really nice! All over that are nice pedals!
These sound amazing. The only thing I'd wish is to be able switch between them, rather than having to turn one off and then turn the other off. Having all the victory amps on a board would be insane
Id have the Duchess in with either the Jack or Kraken at the same time in my board if I could own any of these pedals. Aweseome demo, gents! Thank you!
I was thinking of how this would sound and feel with something like a mooer Radar (or similar like the nux I think) or even running it into a 4x12 powered with an off the shelf power amp meant for P.A systems
@@TheMrMRsmoke Have you tried running it into a tube amp via the parallel fx loop? Or skipping the preamp and running it directly into a power amp section? I would assume the ladder would give you more of the pure character of the pedal as your preamp isn't coloring it in anyway- then you could run all your other effects into it, like it's your amp. I lose my parallel fx loop then though- which is typically where I run all my wet effects. Idk- I may just go with the Headrush MX5 modeler tbh- then I get 40 something amp sims, a bunch of cab sims, 60 something effects, etc. But- I have up until now tried to keep my board analogue- I hate to go over to the dark side, but they have cookies.
It would be really cool, in the future, if for a V2 or V3 line they had victory amps and ThorpyFX effects, maybe a DP40 with The Dane's boost, that would be my desert island pedal if it existed.
I was thinking you could have a power amp (like maybe a Seymour Duncan Power stage 170 ) and then the duchess and the kraken pedals then you have your basic clean and high gain tone before you add any effects like reverb or delay etc.
The Duchess into a blackface Fender like a DRRi or Twin for those edge of break up/low gain tones. The Jack into clean "pedal platform"-type amp for those medium gain tones, or Kraken into same amp for high gain tones. My opinion. 🤷🏻♂️
id like to see the sheriff compared with the Friedman small box. similar price, similar vibe. be a good vid as were all 'getting used' to paying real folding money for pedals lol
I feel like that question rabea asked about using the pedal as your amp tone is more him referring to using the pedal as its own channel. Like that is the clean channel/tone of your amp now that it's on. Turn it off and turn on your drive there's your drive channel. maybe leave it on idk
Having a Jack V4 preamp (before it was called the jack...) I was looking for a 'MIAB' pedal to get some more punk-rocky modded-plexi 80s tones. When this video appeared, I thought 'that Sherrif pedal is going to be mine!!'. Hearing it... I'm actually thinking about just getting the Sheriff v4-amp and using my old v4-jack-preamp in the 4cm in between if I want it :).
I would like to hear these pedals into a boss katana. Seems to me that the aim of these pedals is to 'victory-a-fy' other setups. Kind of hard to know if the tone in this video is from the victory amp they are using or the pedal.
I have a Friedman single channel amp (which I use for dirt) but if I ran this in my effects loop, could I use it for a clean channel - bypassing the preamp of the amp?)
Recently had to sell a large chunk of my "guitarsenal" and gear due to expenses related to my GF's medical issues. Sadly, my recently purchased Victory V4 "The Jack" preamp was among those that got sold.😞 It is what it is I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ These new Victory/Thorpy V1 pedals really do sound pretty freakin' awesome in this demo! Smashingly good content as always guys! Stay safe and well! Cheers!
I think really more than anything that's what these kinds of pedals are really made for, and where they work best. Running something like that Kraken pedal into a Duncan Powerstage would likely sound pretty good, I'd think. I'm going to have to check that out.
So Blackstar has been doin this amp in a pedal thing for a long time, Victory's been superb and recently the Laney Ironheart is not bad as well imho, I just noticed these are all british brands, aside from KSR I don't know any "known" US brands that makes any pedal amps and I mean known brands not botique
There you go man- confuse me even further. I was trying to decide between several different pedals and now- I'm trying to figure out how to work one of these in as well. I want a JHS drive pedal- but I also want a Headrush MX5 floor modeler, and also want one of these Victory preamps, and also want a really good loop station, and I also want a speaker upgrade for my amp, and I also want a good auto wah and standard wah, and I also want the Boss ps-6 Harmonist, and I also want an op amp big muff, and I also want a durple and sweet cream by Tone City, and I also want a good power supply for my new board, and I also want a quarter master or some comparable switch that allows you to bring in whole loops of fxs with one click, and I also want a 5150 overdrive, and..... See my problem? I can either get the speaker upgrade and a couple of the pedals I want- and with what I already have- I'll have a very nice, very capable, very analogue rig. Or- I can get the Headrush MX5- I hate to go over to the Darkside- but they do have cookies. Really- the unit comes with some really nice amp sims, cabs, and effects- it's a 24bit recording interface, it's a 24 bit looper, and it has the drag and drop interface that everyone says is so easy to use. Lots of line 6 stomp and Pod Go guys have swapped over to the MX5- they say it's really good. And for now, I would still be playing it through my tube amp so- I haven't converted fully, I can still remember the taste of strawberries and cream, there's still a veil between me and wheel of fire.
So can I run a Kraken pedal into a Kraken preamp into a Kraken head? I think science demands that Anderton's try this for us!
Which you can split into the super kraken 100 head for a stereo rig... Of krakenness whilst having a drink of some kraken
The universe would fold in on itself if you did that…don’t open a singularity you won’t be able to close!
Kracking
What a silly and extreme suggestion!! I think you must be Kraken up! 😛
Sorry… couldn’t resist! I’ll get my coat 😳
For Science!

grab a used ac15 ! problem solved :D
Can I just say, the Katana is my current favorite amp. Only downside is you need the Boss switch box if you're not using pedals

Saw these released and was very sceptical but they really do sound like the amps. Amazing really.

Kraken and Sheriff ... AMAZING!
These all sound frickin' slick, tho I am still surprised how good the Kracken sounded on the Purple Tele!
Thorpy makes amazing pedals I have only 6, god these pedals sound great .awesome collaboration between Martin and Adrian.
Pete was absolutely killing it on that kraken pedal
Pedals based off of an amp is definitely an interesting idea. I think they did this really well.
And absolutely nothing new
I love the stuff technology makes possible. The fact that you get so legitimately close to the feel of an amp in modeling pedals amazes me.

With the "Jack" I can hear the "Bridge of Sighs" Opeth version for some reasons, love it !
This is a Victory for all musicians who know howto ... great sounds 🎸
Victory products always deliver. Top notch playing there from the Andertones
Pete’s tele has the best tone I’ve ever heard especially for demoing sounds
These pedals sound amazing and you guys have a great chemistry playing guitar together, I could watch these videos all day 😂
My The Jack preamp is amazing. Actually considered just buying a Victory amp because of it. Definitely interested in these
Sweet! This is exactly what I'm looking for!
I loved the Duchess, Sheriff and Kracken! The Copper was so bright!
Damn that Sheriff pedal is BEAST!!
The Jack is my kind of creamy distortion, just right for my Strat. But I have to say that they all sound quite good. 👍🏼
Thanks Andertons, arrived yesterday, it’s awesome 🤟🏽
Excellent demo guys, The Sheriff is quality.
Please do a video demonstration with these pedals with a Boss Katana amp.

The Sherrif is definitely to my taste 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Would have been good if you'd brought a boost pedal along to show off how they behave when you slam the input of them with a big signal.
"Double Dutchess... sounds like an experience I once had...." LOL, I almost spit out my coffee, Pete :)
Omg yes! Super stoked about these!
Gee, I can have a big Victory or just a small Victory. Great to see Rabea and Pete together again.

You guys are how i learned about victory (i have v30) i had never looked at your sub count. Im surprised irs not higher
So cool, the tone is awesome
Wish you can compare these pedals with the Preamp pedals.
That was fantastic guys. I would love to see these pedals run as a preamp into say an IR pedal or even a solidstate power amp and cab.
Running it into a orange pedal baby seems like what you are thinking about
Its not that good. But then again i tried only the kraken and jack thru a cab IR, bypassing an amp. It sounds better with an amp head into a cab IR

It’s actually pretty cool that they all have a full 3 band eq. In OD pedal terms that’s unusual
They all sound so good!!!!!
They all sound amazing!
The guy who will win the pedal will really be one in a Million .
Question- do these have enough output to be ran into the effects loop of an amp or are they drive/boost pedals?
I'm interested in running an amp in a box pedal into an actual amp. Lovely stuff.

Huge pedals ! Please what is the chord at 19:02 ? thx
Why does the copper say tone instead of middle?
Because it's a treble cut not a midrange knob, they say so also.
