    I love doing loaded voltage drop test with the power probe. Isolate the circuit, shoot 12v through one side with a 3157 bulb connected to ground on the other side. Then preform a voltage drop test of that circuit with the light on. Found many of pinched can bus wires that way.

    This just a personally opinion and I've been using a fluke for a year now testing 480v to 120v AC and 12v to 24v DC systems and I've never used a power probe and don't see the point sometimes when switches have broke I use a wire that's the same gauge and jumper the switch just make sure its broken but I've only do that switches that are manually to perform a certain function. So I would like to know how a power probe would be usefully where a multimeter wouldn't be.

    I'm a little confused. Can you please explain to me what is happening when you use the power probe positive or negative switch? How is current flowing? Why is it not okay to send power to ground-side, or ground-side to power side? in other words, what are you doing exactly when you flip that switch?

      @KoonTrucking  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sending current (positive) to the negative side would cause a short to ground. (Blow a fuse or damage electronics) same way goes with sending ground to power side (short to ground). Here’s another video that shows how it works th-cam.com/video/VgJe5fiXcn8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Fdopxjb85z0wyPgP

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aaronmcdonald4944 glad to help. The video I sent the link to should give you more understanding on how it works. The PowerProbe is a wonderful tool to eliminate issues and isolate the problem so you can fix it. For instance if you can apply ground to the ground side of a fan on an ac unit, you hit the power button inside and apply ground to the ground side and it runs you know you have a ground issue. Then if that doesn’t work you can apply power to the hot side and if it comes on you can narrow it down to a faulty switch or wiring issue pre or post switch. If it still doesn’t come on you know you can check the power with the probe at the connector and if you have power and ground then you know the fan itself is bad. Hopefully that all makes sense.
