    I was interested in one but couldn’t find one to try! I ended up with a slightly folding Riese & Mueller Tinker instead.

    I'm envious of the chemistry you two seem to have with one another. I wish I had the same with my wife.

      Paul-
      We owe much of our chemistry to our fabulous coworkers (videographer, Mark, and editor, Nate).If you had two additional talented people documenting your chemistry, I think you’d be surprised at the results. Partnerships are complex, editing makes them look a particular way. Thanks for enjoying our channel! We hope it’s inspiring in all sorts of ways. -Karen

    Could I hitch a trailer to this bike to haul camping gear?

      Yes

      Coming from motorcycling camping, unless you carry your child on the backseat, a pair of saddlebags and a small dufflebag can really carry everything for a solo camping trip. You can check Fortnine's video here on youtube for a good idea of what to pack.

    Hi, up to how old of a child could you safely carry on the vektron? Thanks for the help

      It depends on your child seat. Most child seats will have a maximum weight rating of around 50 lbs. For larger children, we recommend test riding the Tern HSD or GSD.

    Great video; M and I have been fantasizing about an Angel Island trip for a while. One point of critique when you were off-loading the bikes to Karen at the pier: you should really avoid lifting heavy things (like folding e-bikes) above the shoulder like that. It would be better to lower the bike down to the pier from the deck. I myself did this a lot until recently when I got an inguinal hernia and in the process of reading about it, discovered this safety tip. It gets exacerbated by bike riding once it has occurred and isn't too pleasant. On an e-bike I find I tend to do a lot of lifting when I'm carrying cargo around as well, since e-bikes have much more capacity than traditional bikes, so it's important to practice safe lifting techniques. Inguinal hernias are apparently a fairly common injury for middle-aged men.

    I am 5’2” with a short torso. How is the reach on this bike?

      The cockpit is adjustable, so you can bring it towards you quite a ways. I would say you should be very comfortable. But of course, it is important to confirm at your local Tern dealer with a test ride.

    Hi there! Thank you for this great review! May I ask some advice here ?
    I am currently hesitating between the HSD P9 and the Vektron S10. The S10 is 300 euros more in the shop (3699), but according to spec it is 3kg lighter, a wee bit shorter, and has a performance motion vs active line for the P9. I don't care for the folding that much but the motor and ligntess (I will need to carry it up one flight of stairs) are big plusses. On the other hand, the P9 seems to be a smoother ride with suspension and form factor. Do you have an opinion by any chance ?
    I could test drive the S10 but sadly not the P9 that is in back order.

      There is a bike in the states that is out most popular model called the HSD P9 Performance. It is an HSD with a bigger battery and performance motor. That bike sounds go be what you are looking for. Check with your dealer to see if this is available in Europe.

      @@thenewwheel Thank you so much for your insight, I will ask my local retailer about the HSD P9 Perf (I am in France :) ). Do you thing the HSD P9 can be carried up one floor on a daily basis ? Is that doable?

    With belt drive and internally geared hub it would be a hit. Who wants the greasy oiled chain in his boat or apartment?

    • @thenewwheel
      @thenewwheel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point. The derailleur setup makes it nice and sporty but I do understand where you are coming from. I bet we see something like that in the near future.

    The bike is like 3100$ ....in 2021 it's too much for such tech.

    • @kengruz669
      @kengruz669 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the tech which brings the price up is prohibitive (the bosch electric system) consider a Tern non-electric folder. I'm thinking of their non-electric equivalent of this- the Verge. Their Verge S8I with an internally geared hub is highly rated and belt-driven. If that's too expensive, look at Tern's Link models.

    Nice Video,
    but the background music sounds horrible in my ears, won't listen to any longer.
