Hi there! Absolutely! Once you have multiple characters in Motionbuilder, you can simply add each of their hierarchies as a new subject - be sure to give them all unique names! On the Unreal side, if you want to preview the subjects in your scene, you can make multiple duplicate ABPs like the ABP shown in the video and put their unique name in each of the LiveLink ABP nodes. Alternatively you can make a single ABP with a public variable input to the subject name on the LiveLink node - then change the variable to match the subject ID for each instance. I hope that helps!
Hey ! very useful video here, one thing tho, how to get the perspective camera live in the Level too? I guess we have to do something in the ABP but IDK how to proceed. and also for a camera that we animated in motion builder? thanks
Hi Thomas! Glad you enjoyed the video. So getting a camera into the level is a little bit more involved than the process for the camera in the animation previewer. It would involve creating a camera blueprint then connecting up the relevant data to the transforms of the camera, the documentation covers it a little here - docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/live-link-in-unreal-engine/ (Editor integration section) I could make a video demonstrating how to do this if you get stuck! I do believe the newer version of LiveLink makes it easier to stream camera data compared to the version covered in this video, but I haven't had a chance to investigate it just yet! Hope that helps, - Matt Lake.
Hi Biha, There is a 2016 version of the plugin on their GitHub. As for blendshapes, it looks like they have been operational since the second version; so potentially they will be operational in 2016! Let me know how you get on :) Thanks!
For whatever reason I can't get either mobu or UE5 to save the takes. I can save the mocap data in Motive but not the streaming takes. What am I missing?
Hi Jarrell, What do you mean when you say save the takes? Are you using Unreal to record the live streamed data or something? This can be done through the Take Recorder if so. Hope I can help!
Hey Adam, unfortunately my license for Mobu expired and I haven't renewed and just moved entirely to Maya so I am afraid I cannot help you with the latest versions! :(
I don't have auto desk in my c drive, recently I was deleting files that was taking alot of space. Is Autodesk apart of my computer where I have to do a factory restart or is it just files for Unreal Engine so I can just reinstall UE5?
This was very helpful to me. Thank you!
Hi,
Can you please tell me how to use multiple subject in motions builder to unreal?

@@MattLakeTA Matt it would be fantastic if you could make a video on this. Thanks.
@@isabelrollo3313 Hi Isabel! I've got a few videos lined up, I'll add this to my list :)
does this support older versions of mobu like 2016! and does it support blendshapes transfer for old versions

Hey Matt. Have you got this running in Mobu 2023 and UE5.2? Mobu 2022 is fine, but 2023 just doesn't show in UE5.2.

Hi there Aedwin,
If you've factory reset your machine you will need to reinstall both Maya and Unreal :)
Have a good day!
Thank you!!
Happy to help!
If you've got any questions or tutorial requests send them my way!
Thanks!
Somehow I got confused and downloaded Unity instead
