I swear, after watching Kiki’s personality in some of these earlier videos, it’s no wonder Riki is a little crazy. Not sure how she was brought up but she’s got some serious spunk and playfulness to her, sometimes a little aggressive but again, I didn’t see how she was raised. Still...there is a ton of love and tenderness that she shows Riki in this video. Riki is a happy and healthy kid, and that is all due to Kiki.
Teresa Gary On himawaris blog you can open up all of the pictures he took before he started posting the videos. Mimpy and Riki were inseparable and when Api was born her attention went to him. I think thats why he misbehaves so much. It was interesting to see the huge difference in parenting between Kiki and Chappy. Poor Riki spent so much time on the ground even as a tiny infant. Kiki poked at him, wrapped him up in the fabric, which was cute but inappropriate, and dangled the poor little guy by his arms and legs. She also used her feet to hold him with, which is just weird. Chappy held Api tight to her chest always for the first few months. Shes a great mom just like Gypsy and Julie and when the time comes Mimpy will be too. Shes had lots of practice. It makes me wonder too if Gypsy and Julie harassed Kiki because of her lack of parenting.
@@kristinelee8179 not being rude when I say this. I have done a bunch of research on orangutans and the reason kiki holds Riki and now Loki up is to help them stretch thier limbs out and to help them try and crawl sooner. I think kiki wasn't very good with discipline but she is and orangutan and she is a really good mom.i do agree with you about minpy being a good mom, now that she is being breed and about to start her own family, I think she will be a awesome mother too.
Why do you say that. I've watched some videos from other zoos that make this place look like a palace. What are you seeing that so horrific? Just curious.
Kiki is such an amazing mother. The way she covered Riki when the helicopter scared them was such an amazing moment!
