I’m a new player (Year 3) and started with the forest farm. I barely have enough room for anything because I have a large pond and 2 smaller ponds on my farm.
It seems helpful to be able to buy a new advanced fishing rod if you lose your first one. Or maybe people might want to have a separate one in another location, eg at Ginger Island, so it's not necessary to carry it around with you all the time.
I like to play Stardew with my friend, but I rushed maxing out all my stats while she prefers to take the game slower. But this way, I can buy her own rod to use (With some helpful bobbers attached to help her out! XD)
Yeah these changes are great. Combined with riverlands farm getting a free fish smoker, I wanna do... well not a challenge run per say, but now I wanna do a more fish focused farm on the riverlands farm, complete with legendary fish ponds and free range ducks. Gonna include a cat as my starter pet; they were attracted by all the fish I was selling + the fish naturally on the farm haha
If you're looking to use targeted bait in the Spring to push your fishing level you'll have to look at the Wiki. Looks like the XP fish Grant got changed in June because some fish entries got changed 4 months ago. I also thought Chub was the best bet for targeted bait to XP because Largemouth Bass was only 1 extra XP point but much more difficult to catch; that XP difference isn't true anymore.
As a crazy Fisher I say that I'm thrilled that we can get more of the Advanced Fishing Rod! The reason for it is Enchantments - for different builds you need different ones and it's a terrible idea to try and shuffle em around, so just having two, with each having a different one is HUGE! ❤
Niche potential application for two fishing rods: it's fewer inventory slots than 2 bait plus 4 bobbers. Granted, that's not a "25k gold" kind of benefit in a normal playthrough, but I could see it maybe being useful in some challenge run context (e.g., the "catch all fish in a single day" run). Blade will probably find some reason to care about it at some point.
So with all 10 legend fish producing roe more valuable than the Lava Eel, that's good money even early on as it's not too demanding to catch the Angler Fish and Mutant Carp in year 1
Every day I find something new on Stardew! I’ve been playing for 2 years, and I don’t often look at gameplay, but I’m glad I have been. I had no idea you could have a bird following you around. I also had no idea you could put a trailer on your property!
@@madisonpackard5212 the trailer is a new design for multiplayer cabins and the bird is a trinket! Thx for checking out the video, I’m glad you learned something new :)
I think the biggest reason to buy the advanced iridium rod is for multiplayer. A player who has gotten fishing mastery can give it to a player who hasn't, meaning you can effectively divide and conquer: no need to both get that mastery first if all you want is the rod
Being able to buy high-level gear is really useful in multilayer if someone is at a higher level than the other player they can give them more powerful gear
The extra advanced rod would be helpful to purchase for an extra farmhand that havent maxed out fishing yet, since it only unlocks for the person who has that mastery. and since rods arent linked to personal level requirements...if you have coins to spare, you can let your friend have a easier time with fishing lmao
workboots were always obtainable either by remixing the chests in the mines or by fishing them up (though fishing up shoes is rare and there are others you can get that way)
I have been crying over the femurs and workboots in accessibility terrible spawn rates locked random behind mines chestss. So great for caveman and joja contractor cosplay
@@dorkydragon5055 yea just learned yesterday that the work boots apparently only had a chance to be in the mines on floor 10 IF you had the remixed rewards on, no wonder I never seen this before 😅
it can also be rarely found in fishing chests! but considering the chance to get any boots in a chest is already rare you'd prob see another boot type 😩
I'm pretty sure the last one refers to the iridium scythe, it allows you to harvest crops and wild seads with it, with the double forage skill it was previously working
Bigfoot is probably smtg old but rare that you just saw, an alien hatches out of the alien pod that randomly spawns on ur farm, randomly it will run off the edge of a screen when you enter town or the bus stop etc
I woke up an hour earlier today than needed for life and turned on my Switch just to run the update ahead of when I can play. Good thing I've only ever caught 1 Legendary fish ever; now I'm conflicted about starting a new Riverlands because of the fish pond space conflict.
@GuidingPixels I went for the start game fish smoker; i like it, but I haven't found much of the new stuff. I can't complain about the fishing diamonds I've been getting. Oddly enough, my motivation for Meadowlands is the start game dresser with all the free clothes you are supposed to get and maybe to do that dedicated coop for dinosaurs you did. I haven't given up on doing goats someday on my Hilltop Farm with casks to beat the band at aging the goat cheese.
3:46 I started playing 1.6 on wilderness farm LOL, I like the look, but also (depending on your combat level or something) it spawns monsters that drop good things, like iridium bats. That's kinda nice
@@emperor_putenskiy I do also want to play on the wilderness farm at some point, besides the layout I don’t really think it has much going for it, as we can now also have monster spawns on other farms :/
The rod is grest to have one on Ginger island and one on the mainland. I dont know how many times i forget my fishing rod and have to wsrp back to get it.
Another bigfoot sighting is GuidingPixels's "15 Details you might have missed in the new Stardew Valley Update! (1.6.10)" video around the 2:55 timestamp
I also saw a thing I didn't understand about Willy coming to your farm the day after you pick up the bamboo pole. But that might only be if you gain no fishing level on the first day with the pole?
He gives you a training rod too, it happens a set number of days in if you haven't gained a fishing level, it was added in 1.6 I think for people who struggle with fishing
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT BIGFOOT
We don't talk about bigfoot

Or you let your husband get max out fishing and build you the best rod so you can actually catch something with your lvl 2 fishing skill ... 😬
