The Lighting Festival is the biggest festival of lights in Korea, covering 30,000㎡ illuminated by 30,000 lights. The gleaming lights add a festive glow to the botanical garden during the winter season, making it a popular tourist destination in the winter.

Were you on a tour or DIY? Would you know if there are taxis available outside the Garden entrance at night?

Hi, we were there on our own. However we took the Gapyeong city tour bus which is like a hop on hop off bus. We took the bus from the train station to Nami Island, then from Nami Island to the Garden.
When we left the Garden, it was already closing time and I still saw some taxis around though not many.

The lights festival is run every winter, December until March.

I was there in early January and the sky started to get dark around 4ish. This video was filmed from around 6ish hence the pitch darkness
