- This week I head out with the boys from The Bait Shop Gold Coast in search of a few fish in their local waters.
We started the morning in the seaway, then headed offshore and finished off in the Broadwater. It was a great morning with a stack of species being caught, we even hit double figures on the species count!
We fished a number of lure styles as well and the key was to fish as light as we could with quality gear to get the bites in these highly pressured waters.
I'm just glad you don't play gangley country guiter music like other tubers. Great stuff Peter
Some really interesting talk about leaders in here and a really good point made about using the best quality products to help win an advantage especially in pressures waterways.
Quality 👌🏼
Cheers bro.
I'll never forget it, my very first fish on a softy was a Tarpon that come out of the Raby bay canals about 22yrs ago now. Hooked ever since.

Is this a mate or are you doing 1 on 1 charters now
Just mates Geoffrey.
Hey Pete love your work man I just have a question for Jews at the port do you think it’s a good idea to have a 10 - 20lb rod just to rough them out as they also have a longer but for more leverage I have a zodiac 7-14 lb with a curado 200 dc but I can’t get any leverage on the fish around there would you agree with me ?
Cheers mate!
For me, a longer rod with longer but gives more power to get the fish in quicker and is more comfortable as I’m 6’3 as well.
7-14lb will work but is on the light side of things, especially if there sharks around or close to structures……
@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing yeah I agree with that the boys I work with at anaconda go real light for Jew but I watch your vids a lot and from a bit of time on the water I think I much prefer your technique and getting them up as quick as possible any reccomendations for a rod to pair with 200 dc. Grappler PE OR a curado 6-10kg 6”6.
@@josephsimmons1703 do they do a heavier zodiac?
@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing yeah they have a 10 -20lb but I think it’s 5”10
@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing and a 12-25lb 7”5 rod
Bared grunter are 40cm
Arh yes, thanks mate!
