Malec actually is one of the reasons why Maryse's character development was good! She came from "You chose Magnus Bane, you ashamed us" to "I'm so happy you found each other. Thank you for loving my boy" AND she was the one to walk Magnus down the aisle. I disliked her before but now i love her. And i love Malec - officially my the most favourite TV couple!!!!!!!!
Maryse in seasons 2-3 is the middle aged freshly divorced woman who becomes completely disillusioned, then re-establishes her priorities, reconnects with the important people in her life, has a complete glow up and starts living for herself. And I love that for her.
You know i dont really understand people who are shipping Clalec (Clary x Alec) I mean what are reasons to ship them?? I mean Malec is life how cant you ship them??
it's kind of unfair to them to have this logic though, because we still sometimes ship two guys/two girls together in other shows when one of them is canon straight and has their own partner for endgame or something. If we wanna say that they shouldn't ship stuff like clalec we have to practice what we preach as well-otherwise we're no better than them.

I came here after reading the res scrolls of magic, the first book on the eldest curses series (malec series) and omg I didn’t know how much I needed this until I saw it. Matthew and Harry are the perfect actors for Magnus and Alec, I’ve been reading the shadowhunters book since 2014 and this is exactly how I imagine they’ll look like ahgg I LOVE THEM
