Okay I think I can represent the CS:GO community as why some of them don't like Valorant: 1. Valorant is unoriginal. The statement is very true and honestly when the game was released it's clearly like a competitive FPS game, that looked like a complete copy of CS:GO. It just felt like they're just copying CS:GO gameplay mechanics to earn more money from it, trying to get to the top using other's successful franchise. 2. Valorant's unnecessary gameplay mechanics. So you can choose character in Valorant, and each of them characters have different abilities. Some of them even features "Abilities" like a "X-Ray" or location scanner, they can reveal enemies position, spawn a mini almost hard-to-spot assistant that can help you defuse or ambush the enemies by rushing into their face. Making it unbalanced and broken since not every character have such abilities. 3. Valorant's trying to replicate CS:GO's movement physics. Valorant now features bunnyhopping, but this bunnyhopping feature doesn't really help you on gaining velocity. It's more like a dodging bullets while you can just simply jump or crouch randomly. Like a hit or miss. In CS:GO, bunnyhopping is a lot harder, it's about the precision and your luck, getting a frag with bunnyhopping is CS:GO is very rewarding. Since you have to risk yourself from hitting a jump or not hitting a jump, and they're very random at times since it's up to the servers latency, pings and so much more. Able to bunnyhop makes you so much faster and also kind of make a obvious difference between experienced players and inexperienced, since hitting a sick bunnyhop and a frag is really cool and it's clip worthy. Since the odds of such thing to happen is so rare it's more fun since you can move quickly under your own control, in Valorant's case it's just a very straightforward strafe just by pressing a button and you'll be instantly strafe into one side quickly, and the distant is fixed so if you miscalculate you'll just be in the exact middle just to get shot at. It's not dynamic and simple with absolute no effort needed, just by pressing a key. 4. Valorant is more like a hybrid of FPS and MOBA RPG. Yes you heard me right, Valorant's all sorts of abilities is more like a League of Legend thing, where having some of those "powers" makes you move faster and have a second life or something. It's just very unfair at some point and it felt more like a HvH in CS's terms since you can just pull out the craziest "Advantages" to eliminate them. 5. Valorant is dynamic, in a wrong way. Valorant have dynamic mechanics which are their characters, but it's absolutely unnecessary. They could be a lot other things that can be dynamic but applying that on characters proves it terribly unbalanced. And it's not as open source than CS:GO, since you can't make custom maps in Valorant, submits fanmade skins for the game. Which makes it very straightforward and not dynamically free to modify, this is where CS:GO nailed it. They allow workshop gamemodes and maps, but they did not allow mods so that people can use them for cheap advantages, which they actually included mods as cheating, which is kind of understood since it's predecessor franchise have open source access to skins and everything which you can sneak in some "Cheat" into weapons. 6. Valorant do get a little pay-to-win lately. Since the new character Gekko just got released in Valorant, it's so brokenly overpowered and everyone wants to own this character in their game, which completely trashed the balance in game just to let players spend money or more time to buy the characters. 7. Valorant's weapon choices... Valorant's weapon do have a lot common with different shooting games, but they changed the name so it's not copyrighted. But they still failed to do so though, they legit have a sniper called "Operator" which in the playerbase they called it "Op" which is similar to "AWP" in CS:GO, this may sound like I'm nitpicking but let's talk about their cosmetics then, they features knives such as the balisong, which have the most ridiculously identical pull out animation, inspection compared to CS:GO's, they also have Karambits which are completely copied from CS:GO (Bowie knife's equip animation) and some of their knives are from TF2, COD, and a lot more. They do get creative on the design though but the concept is straight stolen from other games. 8. Valorant's mm system and anti-cheat is good but. If you try to queue solo in a game, they're types of people you'll find in Valorant are introverted people that doesn't care to talk or try to win, they never communicate or anything, they didn't even chat. Or some sweaty try hards that blames you if they die, lose or anything. Either are e-Couples that's just making your experience painful. And also, predetors at some point, yes there's horny grown men trying to hit up underaged girls. Which they'll just throw when they gets rejected. 9. CS:GO simply have better maps, and more easy to use equipments. My first few times playing Valorant, there's some of the things you need to shoot them in order for them to stop hurting you, but there's some that's INVULNERABLE????? Yes you just have to suck it up and let it blocks your whole vision for 10 seconds, or take 50% of your health. There's nothing you can do about it, which you need to truly study the game to understand which kind of thing can be shot down and cannot. There's even some device that will expose your location and it's super small to hit and absolutely not visible to the players (They don't have those highlights to be seen, a hot take from COD, but made it worse) Which applies on their necessarily overcomplicated little things that's just completely pointless. Out of all the hate in this game, there's still some things which I appreciate about Valorant too. They put crosshair on Snipers!!11!111 Put highlights on enemies so you can see them clearly!!1!!!! But they're not really helping you much but making simple things like hunt and kill easier, that doesn't make it any better than CS:GO. They feature little things like this but those are the cons you get, justify them properly. Hope this explains well, it's a long ass explanation. If you made it to the end, get hydrated drink some water. Valorant players have the most honestly unfunny humour ever, like their jokes don't make me laugh, smile or anything. It just felt like those fan-service comedy anime that never succeed to be funny. And their threatening obsession to certain female characters and awfully special-kid type of cosplaying and mimicking them fictional characters.
I think I speak for the majority of people when I say this, we love YOUR content. So it doesn’t necessarily need to be valorant, its just more preferred. I do think that it’s smart to try to have cs:go to try to switch over the audience a little more since I’m sure it can be tiring to go directly to valorant after being on COD and cs for a while. But just know that because the more recent blow ups and successes have come from Valorant, we’re going to prefer valorant, BUT the real ones will still love you and your friends no matter what:)
