Great Video, found out that it was leaking and thought that it was going to cost a small fortune. Watched this video and it really helped cant believe how easy it was... Thanks again and keep up the great work.
I did this job on my Astra and it was a pig of a job. Those pliers make it so much easier. I've been give the job of servicing a Corsa C that has been off the road for 2 years so this vid will help me when I come to do the fuel filter. Edit: The fuel filter was a complete mare of a job and I ended up breaking the end of the fuel feed pipe. I've had to buy a replacement on eBay. Getting the pipe off involved dropping the tank down enough so I had enough room to liberate the pipe. The filter was rusty so it had to be replaced. I've shot a video of the service and I'll post it up once I've finished the job. I'll be spraying some white grease on it to prevent it happening again.
great video mate, and like the guy says buy the proper tool to get the fuel line off. i hadn't seen this video a few years ago when i changed mine on the astra. the Haynes manual says you can do it with small screw drivers, be-leave me guys just buy the tool and follow this video you will be so glad you did thanks
very clear great vid thanks just about to try !! also got cutting out problem so hoping fuel filter will change that, update. Very challenging, the filter looked like it hadn't been changed for 10 years, the return connector with the y connector was ceased on the filter and fell apart. I'm now trying to get a replacement, quick connectors with the T piece don't fit , and trying to heat the return line hose to let is expand over the connector is virtually impossible on a hose 20 years old , in short filter cheap rusty connection and deteriorating hoses causing hassle
Fantastic video mate. It's nice to see someone actually use a tripod for the camera so we can actually see what you're doing properly. Quick question do you know where the idle air flow is on the engine as I think my needs cleaning but can't find it.
For future, to stop petrol leakage, some cars you have to tilt the filter to get it out, so use the rubber caps from the new filter to block the old one before removing, it'll stop any petrol spillage :)
Good video. I find it easier to remove the white plastic from the filter first and insert them on to the hoses first then it just slips on nice and easy.
I just finished replacing the fuel filter. I did it without the special pliers... ... I highly recommend the special pliers. Thanks man, it's been very helpful!
Thanks mate, I really appreciate the knowledge. I did'nt know about the pressure relief valve, so that surely has saved me a dose of fuel in the face!! Cheers Please keep posting.
My fuel filter is absolutely rotten and the damn thing won't budge. I'm using the same tool, too. Gonna have another bash tonight using a large driver.
Thank you, used this to change my Opel corsa lite 2006 fuel filter, very useful and although I couldn't find that tool where I live, to anyone reading this I highly suggest getting one if you can. Was a mission to get the pipes off without it.
great movie works on the Australian 90s combo van as well as for the tool you can still pinch it with normal pliers just remember to keep those little clips to put on new filter.
Great vid!! i'm having problems cranking the engine takes a few turns to start.. Not the spark plugs, so i'm guessing a new filter change? same car here 2003 model.. 85000 on the clock.. Checked service history no filter change's ..
Hi ....nice vid....when i pulled the connector off there was a small orange o ring in the connector. Does this need to be changed as well? Fuel is just dripping when the pump is activated.
great video mate keep them coming .and I'm about to attempt this on my car very soon. wish me luck haha changed my air filter other day so I think I'm the boss now big thing for me this but will need those plier's
Old one but give it a try. Is it possible to re use the clamps on the filter? I got a new filter but the clamps were missing and the only one they had 😑
thanks for this too dude I'll be changing air filter, fuel filter, cabin filter in my barina credit goes to you for teaching me how to do this thanks. also if possible please let us know where to jack corsa c up using trolley jacks( at rear end)
Hey man!! You rock!! I was dying to see this video!! I'm very much appreciated!! Thanks! By the way can you tell me where did you get those pliers or from where did you got them?! One more time, thank you very much for your time, effort and video!! Cheers
That's ok you're very welcome! If you look in the description I left a link to the pliers, if that doesn't work search for fuel line pliers and they should come up :) thanks for watching mate!
Hi great video I have Vauxhall Corsa Diesel 1.3 eco flex 2008,it does not show the glow plug symbol at all but the car start perfectly all the time is anything to worry about? Thanks.
Ah, this is me answering my own question as I have just discovered that the D petrol, does not have an external petrol filter. It has a so-called lifetime filter. It is apparently part of the fuel pump and therefore lives in the petrol tank. So when the petrol pump dies, you replace that and in so doing, the integral fuel filter. Scotty Kilmer suggests that the pump dies BECAUSE of the lifetime filter clogging up over time and therefore making the petrol pump work harder till it eventually gives out. Replacing the pump looks fairly straightforward and the cost for the unit varies depending on the brand. £50-£170 is the range I have seen today. I'll leave the filter alone now and foccus on the stuff I can do.
update on my shambles replace the pipe that was damaged and the connectors only to find they didn't seal properly , a right mess I replaced a section of the return pipe and the Y connector but for new quick release and they don't seal - any ideas great
Is it exactly the same for a 2015 Vauxhall corsa and how many miles do you have to do before changing your fuel filter, mine has done 34,000 miles. Many thanks
Ive got a 60k mile corsa from 2000.. new clùtch, rad, pump ect ..but cant afford insurance this year. Any ideas where to take/ sell her so she doesn't end up scrapped. Old but brilliant and sad to lose. Any ideas ?
Hi, might be a bit of a long shot but what is the guard just in front of the filter (that the fuel lines slot into) called? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also is it really needed as mine's falling off, just being held on by a bolt. 3:26 gives a clear shot - its the piece on the lower right hand side of the screen
Hello mate, I have a Opel Corsa b which my daughter collided on to the back of another car. I suspect that the inertia switch or the fuel cut off switch has jumped and cut off the electricity to the fuel pump and perhaps to other parts. The car is completely dead and except engine light nothing else lits. I have looked everywhere to find the "inertia switch" or "fuel cut off switch" but I can't find it. Can you help me locating this switch please? It's a Opel Corsa b 2000 model. Thanks in advance.
Quick question I have a problem with my opel corsa c it turns off after few minutes of running could it be sensor problem or the fuel pump will run 5 min turns of I have to wait few more minutes then it will start again 😥🤔
Hi, I am wanting to remove the fuel from a Vauxhall Vectra before scrapping. I have located the fuel line, filter and valve as shown in your video. I wondered if I could release the pipe from the filter to drain the fuel? If so what would you recommend?
This might be foolish question but why isn't all fuel coming out of the tank if you disconnect the fuel line there? Also do you know if the trick with the removed fuel pump relay and attempting to start the engine works on the Peugeot 205? I mean don't you break down anything using that method?
You jammy sod! This can be an absolute pig of a job. You made it look so easy. The black plastic clips can become brittle and break. Your Astra's fuel filter is similar so I hope it is as easy when you come to change it. The fuel filter was something I didn't do when I recently serviced my Astra. It was replaced as part of the subsequent MoT work that needed doing. It wasn't secured in the bracket and was one of the failure items despite getting through at least the 2 previous MoTs like that.
another great helpful video! keep it up! also like how last video you mentioned your appreciation for the positive comments you get :) so are you a mechanic or something?
Hi thats a really good video and very helpful so thanks for that. I wanted to ask you about brake pipes. I have a corsa c and it needs brakes lines front to rear and some others renewed for MOT. Can I do this myself or is that a bit tricky? Also Ithought I'd renew with copper pipes but I also see that there are stainless steel pipes on the market. Which is best do you think? I'd like to do hopefully a permanent job so this doesn't come up again. I dont suppose you have a video of that job lol. What sort of cost would you expect a garage to charge for this? Hope you can help , thanks, Joe
I might try this. I'd rather buy that tool than pay a mechanic for labour. I'm just worried about the petrol spillages now. My old one's really rusty and stuck on. I can't even press in the white plastic parts.
the bolt that holds in the fuel filter is stripped for me, my philips screwdriver just spins in it. any ideas what i should do? the bolt is rounded so 10mm does not grab onto it
Hey man, awesome video, I have a Corsa C as well, is there a special reason for me doing this? Am I going to notice diferences in consume or performance? Or is this video merely informative IN CASE we need to replace, just asking because I know nothing about cars ahah
You're on of the top instructors on youtube, explained every single element of the process at the correct time - more power to you
Your videos make what seems to be a daunting prospect to the noob (me) a realitively easy process. Thanks.
Great Video, found out that it was leaking and thought that it was going to cost a small fortune. Watched this video and it really helped cant believe how easy it was... Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Nice to see someone change the fuel filter. Few people do. Good work as usual.

Great video. It's like watching wheeler dealers
Clear, detailed video. The valve is for diagnostic purposes I believe. I.E fuel pressure testing. Relieving pressure it will do too.
Did this several times on my car. You've explained it in a good way. Thumbs up
very clear great vid thanks just about to try !! also got cutting out problem so hoping fuel filter will change that, update. Instructions clear as crystal!!! Excellent organisation of material and presentation!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for simplifying this especially with the special tool, much appreciated.
Brilliant. Never done this before but have the confidence to do it now. Thank you.
Really liking these vids dude! Hope you keep these up as they're helping me sort my own car out!
That's exactly why I make them Mate thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoy :)
Clear, concise, informative. Perfect.
Fantastic video mate. It's nice to see someone actually use a tripod for the camera so we can actually see what you're doing properly. Quick question do you know where the idle air flow is on the engine as I think my needs cleaning but can't find it.
Thanks for showing how to relieve the pressure
I have a vetra c I was wondering how to do this.
Your video explains the process clearly
thanks for the video! I used it today to do this job. Keep up posting these helpfull information and i subscribed to your channel.
Thanks man !! I'm learning a lot from you :)
Thanks for posting. Have to change the fuel filter on my Dads 2003 Agila. Same filter and same engine. I had no idea about the relief valve. Thanks

Good video. I find it easier to remove the white plastic from the filter first and insert them on to the hoses first then it just slips on nice and easy.
Thanks for the trip on the fuel valve. Was working on a Meriva. The fuel pump relay would have been a pain to get to. Its well hidden.
gonna undertake this on a Zafira this weekend the fuel pressure bit was helpful
I just finished replacing the fuel filter. I did it without the special pliers...
... I highly recommend the special pliers.
Thanks man, it's been very helpful!
Thanks again to The Savage Garage!
Another well made, informative , youtube tutorial, from yourself.
Good vid. That's another job I'm gonna have to do. Making it look so easy how could I not. Brake pads and shoes next please. 👍😉
Thanks mate, I really appreciate the knowledge. I did'nt know about the pressure relief valve, so that surely has saved me a dose of fuel in the face!!
Cheers Please keep posting.
watched a few of the videos and done things on my own corsa c thanks to him 5/5
Nice video. Really clear, easy to follow instructions. Thank you.

Very clear and well explained. Nice one
A really great clear demonstration. Many thanks
Thank you, used this to change my Opel corsa lite 2006 fuel filter, very useful and although I couldn't find that tool where I live, to anyone reading this I highly suggest getting one if you can. Was a mission to get the pipes off without it.

You saved Me hassles. Thankyou
Clear and precise. Please don't ever be tempted to add mind numbing so called music to the sound track.
Hi ....nice vid....when i pulled the connector off there was a small orange o ring in the connector. Does this need to be changed as well? Fuel is just dripping when the pump is activated.
What's the interval for both petrol and diesel Corsa pls ?
Thanks, clear informative video. Very professional.

The Savage Garage Oops, my bad.. After posting the comment I went back and read the description.. Thanks!!
Just used this video to help do my fuel filter. Would you have any idea why my corsa leaks water on the passenger side interior ?
Is it possible to drain and wash the tank without removing it? Some info on how to clean the injectors would me much appreciated as well! Thanks!!
Hi great video

Excellent video, very helpful.
Excellent videos, subbed ! 👍🏻
Ive got a 60k mile corsa from 2000.. new clùtch, rad, pump ect ..but cant afford insurance this year. Any ideas where to take/ sell her so she doesn't end up scrapped. Old but brilliant and sad to lose. Any ideas ?
Hi, nice video straight forward and extremely helpful. I own a t reg 1.2 corsa will the fuel filter be located in the same place as yours? cheers Mark
Thanks, great video showing me what I needed.

Great post very informative just done my daughters car , as per this post 👍👍
Hi, I am wanting to remove the fuel from a Vauxhall Vectra before scrapping.
I have located the fuel line, filter and valve as shown in your video. I wondered if I could release the pipe from the filter to drain the fuel? If so what would you recommend?
Carl Brierley I would remove a fuel line and crank the engine so the fuel comes out, or just drill a hole in the tank if scraping it
Excellent. It's a full tank and thought I could release the valve pressure when my bucket is full?

I cant see the fuel pressure valve. I would like to take petrol pump fuse out. Is the fuse the same as the relay?.
made the job easy, thanks
This was helpfull indeed thumb up bro, u saved me some bucks😂
i've a question. I turned off my corsa c and after 10 minutes pushed the valve on the fuel rail and there was not any pressure.
Is that normal?
Is this the same on a diesel?
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers James.
